ALOHA ET BIENVENUE DANS NOTRE MORCEAU DE PARADIS!

Hale Luana (maison pour se détendre et tourner au ralenti) est située à 5 km au-dessus de Kailua Kona et surplombe la baie de Kailua et la ville de Kailua. Maka Nui Tui («Tui» comme nous aimons nous y référer) est notre propriété de plus de 3 acres idéalement située à 1100 pieds au-dessus du niveau de la mer contenant Hale Luana avec la résidence principale du propriétaire. Tui est privé, calme, pratique et très relaxant. Entouré de plantes tropicales, de fleurs et de fruits. Le fruit est à vous pour la cueillette lorsqu'il est disponible. Vous entrez par des portes de fer et montez l'allée bordée de palmiers en passant par la maison principale pour trouver Hale Luana.

Hale Luana sera une retraite parfaite des visites quotidiennes, de la plage, du shopping et de nombreuses autres activités disponibles sur notre merveilleuse île d'Hawaï. Les brises tropicales maintiennent une température parfaite jour et nuit. Pas besoin de climatisation, mais des ventilateurs de plafond sont dans toutes les pièces si vous en ressentez le besoin.

Maintenant que vous avez terminé votre long voyage dans les îles, vous pouvez vous détendre dans votre décor hawaïen le plus confortable, Hale Luana. Sirotez un verre de vin ou une boisson tropicale en regardant le coucher de soleil depuis votre véranda privée et également depuis la piscine à débordement. Admirez la vue spectaculaire sur la baie de Kailua et au coucher du soleil, admirez les étoiles au-dessus et les lumières scintillantes de la ville pittoresque de Kailua ci-dessous.

Réveillez-vous le matin au son des oiseaux locaux et du bruissement des feuilles tropicales. Profitez de votre première tasse de café Kona sur votre véranda avant de vous lancer dans les aventures qui s'offrent à vous. Qu'il s'agisse de visites touristiques, de natation, de plongée en apnée, de shopping, de golf ou de l'une des nombreuses activités disponibles, ou simplement de traîner à la piscine. Hale Luana est donc très pratique pour tout voir ou faire sur la grande île. La plupart sont à 10 à 20 minutes en voiture.

Here’s a stronger, more polished version that still feels honest and grounded:This was our third stay with this host, and there’s a reason we keep coming back. The place is exactly as advertised — great views, solid amenities, and an overall experience that’s hard to beat for the value. Stunning!

This property is beyond belief! It was spotless with every amenity you will need. The pool is amazing, and the fruit and vegetables growing on the property were a welcome treat. So was the basket of welcome goodies in the home. View is amazing!! Barb and Ray are gracious hosts—you won’t regret staying here.

Beautiful Property

Amazing property with spectacular views and sunsets. Cool breezes in the evening. Quiet and peaceful away from the crowds but only minutes to town and beaches. Thank you for sharing your hillside paradise.

A Truly Great Home and Location Location Location

We really enjoyed our stay at Barb and Ray's. They were great hosts, always available to answer our questions like one evening when the house shook!! (A minor earthquake!) and also gave us lots of privacy. The house is well equipped, has a beautiful view, and is a very convenient location to our favorite beaches and necessary stores. You will love staying here!

Spectacular View, Great Location, Wonderful Hosts

Barb and Ray were amazing hosts and thank you for sharing your wonderful property. The location was perfect with easy access to Queen K highway, Mamalahola highway and Kona town. We so enjoyed having our morning coffee on the protected lanai and the cool nights for sleeping. I appreciated the well appointed kitchen and the bowl of fruit and other "goodies". Although my husband and I were traveling by ourselves the house is ideally set up for two couples. We have been traveling to Hawaii for several years and loved staying at the higher elevation. It was one of our best stays on the Island of Hawaii. We would definitely come back.

Beyond expectations!

What a condo! Perfect! Everything from the wonderful fruit basket upon arrival to the final view of the swirling ocean on the last day when we had to leave this wonderful condo. Stunning views and refreshing breezes flowing throughout. The furnishings were very elegant, yet tropical and comfortable. Especially the beds. Top of the line linens, and towels. We were totally impressed and would definitely rent and recommend to anyone we know to be visiting Kauai. Thank you for supplying such a wonderful piece of paradise for us to enjoy.

What a View!!

We so enjoyed our stay at this elegant guesthouse. The interior was beautiful and provided us with all the supplies one could possibly need. An added treat was the fresh fruit grown on the property provided for us during our stay. The welcome package of coffee, breads, jam, chocolate for our first breakfast was much appreciated as we arrived late with no time to grocery shop for the morning. My only suggestion to the hosts would be to have the spa running for their guests. Would have been nice to sit in the hot tub and enjoy the fabulous view. Beautiful home, close to town, and on an amazing piece of property.

Beyond our dreams!

This place was absolutely top notch! First of all, the owners were so welcoming & genuine. We felt at home immediately. We arrived to fresh fruit picked from their yard sitting on the counter. The accommodations were perfect for the 4 of us. The kitchen was well equipped. The beds were comfortable. We spent the majority of our time,while we were home, on the lanai. The sound of the birds was beautiful. The garden was heavenly! The sunsets were perfect from the lanai. We loved the location because it was an easy drive to groceries & our favorite beaches. I can’t say enough about this gem. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful view of downtown, and great accommodations.

For my son‘s 21st birthday he said he wanted to stay away from the downtown crowds. I found this location, he was ecstatic. The place is immaculate outside, and the accommodations were great. The place is minutes from downtown, and an easy drive. There was fresh fruit and a nice welcome basket left for us. There is plenty of kitchen supplies. There are two security gates protecting the place, which the owners have provided a garage door opener for access; easy! We had a small water issue which we cleared up by calling the owners; that took about 3 minutes to fix. It was very nice talking with these people. Here’s the deal- if you want a quiet place with good accommodations and a great view, choose this place.

Hawaii Guest house

This guest house is good but I would not say great. The money value is there for sure but there is room for improvement. It is poorly lit on the outside which was dangerous because of the huge amounts of rain. Also, the sofa bed and furniture smell of mildew; pretty badly. I would say the upholstery, rugs need to be cleaned. There was a lot of bugs in house and maybe bed bugs; which is creepy. You are literally on edge of a rain forest and because of this the croaking frog makes a lot of noise, pretty much all night. The other thing which to me takes this out of super host status is that there in no AC. It's humid in Hawaii and the place is upstairs I think AC should be provided. They do have a lot of fans in the house but they take a long time to work and are only so effective. The other thing that I did not like is that the guest house is behind the main house so you are kind of feeling like the front owners can't wait for you to leave. Mind you this won't bother some people but you don't have good privacy and I was never totally comfortable there. The hosts did provide sone fruit and stuff like that which was nice so many people will like that. However, we would not come back here.

Wow indeed! We had the most incredible stay at this property. The gorgeous views from the pool (oh, how we loved that pool!) took our breath away and the lush, serene setting made it feel like a true escape. Yet, despite the peaceful surroundings, everything we could possibly need (restaurants, shops, and activities) was just minutes away. The combination of tranquility and convenience is unbeatable. The home itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had every comfort we could ask for. Highly, highly recommended!

Great house and location

We spent a week at Ray and Barb's house in July/August 2022 and had a great time. The house was very clean and in very good condition. It's located on the hills of Kona, about 10 minutes away by car from the city center. The house doesn't have AC, but we found that the temperature was much cooler than in Kona - thanks to the clouds that hover above the rainforest - and we were never too warm. We appreciated the cooler temperature every time we came back home from the beach or the town below. We slept with all windows open. Temperature was pleasant, around 70/75F at night. At night, with open windows, you can sometimes hear a couple of coqui frogs (who sound like a bird more than a frog) and of course birds in the morning. We love the sounds of nature so we actually liked it and slept very well. There are screens on the windows so we didn't have insects inside. The house is in a very quiet gated community so there is zero traffic noise. We took every meal on the lanai, using the small but very efficient gas BBQ. Ray and Barbara were very helpful and gracious hosts, always ready to help when needed. They gave us with mangos from their yard that we loved. If and when we come back to Kona we would absolutely stay here again.

Hôte : Barb Poston

Ray and I met in 1960 on Oahu, where he was a Marine stationed at Kaneohe MCAS and I was attending Kailua HS, as my father was also a Marine. We eventually married and moved to Virginia, where Ray is from originally. We always wanted to return to Hawaii and did, in 1985, and fell in love with Kona. Well, we bought a home, sold it in 2005 and built on Maka Nui Tui(loosely translated ('WAY TOO MUCH view'). Shortly after building our main house we completed Hale Luana. We wanted to share our happiness with as many folks as possible. What a wonderful place to live and sooo convenient to everything. We hope you can visit with us and realize the true feeling of living in paradise. Mahalo, Ray & Barb
