An efficiency unit, in a quiet neighborhood with one room and bath. An apartment-size refrigerator, with kitchen sink and Microwave. TV with YouTube TV & WiFi. A queen bed, a desk, a stand alone closet with dining table that seats four. The unit is above a single-car garage which accommodates a standard passenger vehicle. It is one block off Main Street Clayton, close to the shops, restaurants & pubs. A great place to stay and to enjoy the amenities of the beautiful Northeast Georgia Mountains.

I spent a very happy week in The Cottage. Charles was an outstanding host, and I could get up early and walk around town and/ or have breakfast or pick up a fresh scone before setting out on excursions each day. The studio apartment is perfect for a solo traveler or two traveling light. It has excellent lighting, a comfortable reading chair, and a double bed. The host has a grill and air fryer available upon request. It was nice to have the garage, but it is small, so cars larger than a sedan would not fit. Getting to the cottage’s entrance is a tad uphill and then three low steps onto the sidewalk that leads to the door. The outdoor area is well lit. Clayton is a quiet town, and you will be just far enough up in the trees you will enjoy a good night’s sleep every night. I highly recommend this lodging and would stay again if travels take me back to Rabun County.

Clean property with simple kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker. Garage underneath and steps up to cottage. Quiet beautiful neighborhood in the spring with all the blooms. Host is available and communicative if you need him. Great for 1 or 2 people.

Bill and his wife, Diane are model guests. Kind, considerate, and clean. I rate them as the best. They left the place as they found it, save soiled linens etc. It's my hope that they left with a fond memory and will return, maybe for the fall leaf season in October.

Cute, Cozy & Clean

It was the perfect place for my weekend stay. It was, just as I titled it.. cute, cozy and clean. The owner is super nice, available when needed, and will help you any way he can to have a pleasant stay. Great location too. Close to all the nice eateries and shops in town. Great place to stay for one or two people.

Hiking in Rabun County

The cottage was clean & roomy enough for 1-2, ideally located, & walkable to downtown 3 blocks away. The bed was comfortable and Charles is a true southern gentleman.

Lovely cottage, great location, and a very kind host

This cottage is in the perfect location within walking distance to everything you could want to visit in downtown Clayton. It was clean and simple, just what we needed for a weekend of hiking. The host, Charles, is a kind man who came out to greet us and chatted with us briefly. Wonderful stay, we hope to return!

Nice little cottage

The cottage was very clean and neat. The host was very nice and helpful. He swung by one afternoon to check in to see if we needed anything but other than that gave us our privacy. We would definitely come back if we’re ever in the area

Charles Mobley is a retired state court judge who retired with his wife Diane to the beautiful mountain town of Clayton several years ago. He enjoys being a host and welcoming guest to his Cottage on Hamby Street. The property is adjacent to their home on a private way. The cottage is above their garage. I will accomadate a standard automobile and is there for you while you enjoy your stay.
