This was one of the best-stocked and cleanest rentals we’ve ever stayed in! The kitchen had everything—from tons of serving and cooking dishes to two ovens—and the pantry was filled with spices, teas, oils, sugar, and other thoughtful essentials. Even the fridge had those little things you might only need a small amount of, like mustard or soy sauce. We were able to host our local family for Thanksgiving with ease. There was even a turkey roasting pan—major win! There was plenty of space to cook, eat, and relax together. We’d love to come back during the warmer months to enjoy the lake.

Super Clean. Awesome House! We just didn’t get enough time. We were in Hickory for a family wedding. Perfect location. Short drive into town. Great Communication and Easy check in/ out. LR Spring Game

Our family stayed here for the Lenoir Rhyne spring football game. We LOVED the house and the neighborhood. We hope to stay here again in the fall.

Birthday Celebration

This place was perfect for a weekend celebration. The weather cooperated as well. This allowed for a bonfire by the lake, grilling, and enjoying the wonderful view of the lake. Excellent stay!

Magical Wedding Weekend

My husband is from Kansas and I was looking for a place for the family to stay with us during my son’s wedding in Hiddenite. Ollie’s Hideaway was such a wonderful experience for us all! We enjoyed being able to get much needed rest and fellowship in beautiful surroundings. We are hoping to book again for more family getaways!

Great rental on Lake Hickory

Excellent house on Lake Hickory. Large common spaces with views, multiple decks and a nice kitchen. Bedrooms were large and comfortable. Michael was great to work with. The house exceeded expectations.

Great stay

We loved the house itself - beautiful, spacious. The games and TV / theater were wonderfully fun. The setting feels secluded and private. We even saw a doe and two fawns browsing on the property. The sheltered cove was a great place to try out the kayak and paddle board before venturing further into the lake. Great location - things in Hickory were easy to get to when we wanted, but the location is very quiet. We would absolutely come here again!

The place was clean and there was so much space. We rented the house for family out of town who were here for a family event. There were plenty of supplies, the kitchen was stocked, the lake was beautiful, and the host were very responsive. We enjoyed it very much and highly recommend it to family/friends.

Hickory Get Away

This home was very private and tucked away with lake access. It is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need! We had 6 adults and one child with us and all were comfortable and able to spread out! The only down side was that it wasn’t wheelchair accessible for dad
 he had to stay downstairs entire trip and everyone else was upstairs.😞 We couldn’t discern the layout from listing. Other than that, we enjoyed our time.😎

Winner Winner!

We used to live in Hickory so we are back often to visit family and have rented many homes. This is by far the best rental! When we lived in Hickory we lived in the Moore's Ferry neighborhood which is right next to the street this home is on, so definitely a great area and our preferred part of the city. The house is warm and cozy and offers many things for entertaining. The teens loved the air hockey and foosball. Whomever is cleaning the property is doing a fabulous job. Typically the kitchen items are all mixed up and I find myself putting things back in their proper places. But at this home everything is still organized and in it's correct cupboard. Everything felt very clean, even the baseboards were clean! As a rental owner myself, I notice and appreciate simple things such as hand soap at every sink. A box of kleenex in each bathroom. Nice quality toilet tissue. This home had all of them. I was also marveling at the decor. Usually decor is minimal in a rental, but this home is well appointed. I found myself looking many of their decor items and appreciating it's charm. This is a great property that I look forward to renting on our next visit to Hickory.

Wonderful Home

Everything about this property was great. The owner and property manager were so accommodating. The home was conveniently located, very well appointed and the beds were comfortable. After staying in a number of properties we were so happy to have: plenty of nice linens and towels, kitchen dishes and utensils, spices and condiments, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, fun board games, lots of books, air hockey, foosball, movie theater, lawn games and a basketball hoop. The property has a little something for everyone to enjoy their time there. We felt right at home. We highly recommend investing in this property for a special time away with family or friends.

Peace and quiet at the lake

The house was exactly what we needed for a long weekend to have a celebration of life for our dad. The Kitchen was so well equipped with nice appliances and high quality cookware. Coffee on the screened porch was the best!!

Our stay

We fully enjoyed our time at this home. It was a last minute opportunity to get my family together and this fit the bill perfectly. Likely a little bigger than we needed but enjoyable nonetheless. All aspects of the house were easily determined. I particularly enjoyed the lack of negative rules I get a lot of at other VRBO‘s. My sense is that the owner really wanted people to just enjoy the house and property. Check in and check out was super easy. I would stay here again in a minute. Thx
