JUST LISTED - Cozy Beach Cottage (pet friendly)

Cozy beach bungalow located inside the award-winning Ocean Lakes Family Campground. Spend you days at the one-mile-long ocean front beach, swimming at the pool with water slides, lazy river and area for younger children. Next to the pool area is an arcade, indoor pool, and family recreation area. Take a walk, ride bikes, or ride a golf cart to the three lakes for fishing, putt-putt golf, or outdoor dining at the Sandy’s eat and greet.

This cozy bungalow offers two bedrooms, a bathroom, living room, kitchen and eating area. Also included is a washer and dryer located inside of the outdoor shed.

House includes Kitchen items for cooking such as, pots and pans, plate sets, utensils, and coffee pots, Toaster, crock-pot, Keurig, iron board and iron, hangers, two smart tvs with spectrum cable.

ITEMS YOU WILL NEED TO BRING:

Sheets for 2 queen beds, and two twin beds, towels, washclothes and a bathmat, paper products.

No smoking inside of house of any kind- doing so will be an automatic hold of security deposit!!!

We never had to contact the property manager. The house was very small. I did not think it looked like the pictures. The entertainment was rental of a golf cart which we enjoyed. Everyone at the Ocean Lakes campground were very nice. The bathroom floor was brokenand the tiles were loose and sinking. The door did not close as they did not fit and were broken. Could not control the temp. Had to keep it at the temp they had it on as you could not control it. Missing lights and had to readjust to make it work and have volume. The remote did not shut off the TV and the audio could not be turned down very far in the bedroom.

I'd give a 4.5 rating if there was one. Everything in the cabin worked fine and it was clean. It has a bit of a Bohemian feel, and is an old beach house. The doorknob lock malfunctioned half way through our stay, but we were able to use the second deadbolt lock for the duration (there is only one door in and out). This was a perfect location for us since we were attending a multi-day function on this property. Our little dog, who is a good traveler, had a safe and comfortable stay while we were gone. Take a night light for the bathroom as there are no windows in it! Be aware that if you rent through Vrbo the Ocean Lakes property will charge an additional 15 per day as a vehicle fee. If you contact this host early enough to put you on the "approved visitors" list this can be reduced to 12/day. You can pay this fee by calling Ocean Lakes reservations directly a week or two early, and picking up an express packet with your car permit in it at the gate when you pass through. Otherwise you will have to go into the main building to pay this fee upon arrival. If you only need a small place, this cabin is just fine.

It was decent for 2 people, the couch and bed were uncomfortable but it was a cozy little spot. Did see some ants but I sprayed the counter down and wiped it down with cleaning spray so we didn’t have a problem after that

This is a great house and I highly recommend it. My boyfriend and I stayed there with our dog and we really enjoyed the location and the pine trees that surround the house. The house was clean and very presentable.

Pet friendly but my dog got out 3 times because there was no storm door. We are seniors and although there was a grab bar in the shower, there was no shelf for soap, shampoo. One that just hooks on the shower would have been sufficient. I was going to store my hygiene bag under the bathroom cabinet and the door fell off when I opened it. The Keurig coffee was quite outdated, coffee was not hot. Couldn’t get up the dirt when I swept in the dust pan. A small vacuum would have been better or a better dust pan. Oven door didn’t have a handle. I will pay more the next time in order to have more updates. My nephew stays in another more updated house and the owner responds with him through text. I ask this owner if she would do that but she continued our contacts via VRBO which I’d never done before.

I realize you get what you pay for in these situations so i left a 3 star review because the value was there, but the house is really 2 stars.After opening the door you are met with a mildew musty smell. There is a dehumidifier in the bedroom that needs to be emptied consistently and dehumidifying products scattered through the house. I dont know what would cause such a humidity problem, but there definitely is one. There are 3 doors that give you privacy. 1 of them doesnt stay closed, and one of them literally seems to be falling off the hinge.Upon check in we had no water because the bill wasnt paid to ocean lakes. It took several hours to get that straightened out.Its a small space and isnt actually 2 bedrooms but i feel like we knew that going in. You should note it as well. The top bunk isnt actually sleepable for 90% of the population as it is 14 inches from the ceiling.The bed was also uncomfortable for my wife and it has a plastic mattress cover on it that was noisy and hot.Ocean lakes is the best place to stay at any beach, but this little house needs some tlc! The neighbors were cordial and helped us with our water issue early on.

The house was small but nice for maybe 1 couple. The house was not very clean when we arrived. the bunks beds was located in a small room and had no over head light so it was very dark.

A nice stay

My husband and I stayed for four nights. The house was as the photos showed. It was a smaller house, but it worked out fine for us. I rank my stays as to the servicability of the house. It had shelving behind the commode for our bathroom toiletries. Had five towel bars in the bathroom. The water was hot (the hot and cold water are reversed in the bathroom sink, but we figured it out. There were two TV'S, and they were both easy to turn on and they both worked. The air conditioning worked fine. Sofa and bed were comfortable. The blinds were new and not all bent up like some houses. The only thing that I would suggest is that there were no cutting boards, and only one really dull large chef's knife. I had to cut my limes and apples on a plate with a butter knife. Also, there were only two teaspoons, and two slotted tablespoons. Only three coffee cups. So, more utensils and coffee cups are needed. But that is an easy fix. Overall, it was a great stay and I would stay there again.

Not a two bedroom

Well, lets get the " bad " things out of the wayThere were little bugs in the kitchen, if youre over 6'1 the kitchen/hall area where the bunk beds are located is going to be an issue for you.It is NOT a two bedroom as i said the bunk beds are in a hall way. This says it could sleep six i would NOT put 6 people in this bungalo. My 9 year old had all she could do to crawl up on the top bunk. The nobs on the stove turns super easy so one time we went to the beach we came back and the over was on for a good hour so its safe to say its not child safe as well as the oven door being sharp because its busted out on the right hand side. If youre traveling with teens or just as a couple of adults this place is perfect. I would not bring a family there.

My pregnant wife opted to sleep in my truck instead.

I'll start with the positives. Ocean Lakes is great. Plenty of activities for the kids, beautiful beach, there's something for everyone. Our vacation became very relaxing as soon as we ended this rental 3 nights early and moved to a different home within Ocean Lakes. When they say this home is "cozy", they mean really small with abnormally low ceilings. I'm 6'3" and couldn't stand up straight without my head touching the ceiling in the kitchen, "2nd bedroom" or the bathroom. If I walked straight through the kitchen without dodging the ceiling mounted light, I would hit my forehead on it, which someone may have already done seeing as it was hanging loosely off the ceiling by one screw. I hit my head twice on the top of the door jamb walking into the bathroom. The bathroom door, as previously mentioned in past reviews, was nearly off the hinges, dragging on the floor and impossible to close. I'm in construction so I took it upon myself to fix this. It took me all of 10 minutes to fix, I'm not sure why there are reviews dating back several months mentioning the same problem, it's almost as if the host doesn't care. The house wasn’t clean upon check in, which we communicated to the host who said she would talk to the cleaners. Even after fixing the bathroom door for her at no charge, host ignored our request for a cleaning fee refund. Find another property in Ocean Lakes, there are plenty of other options available.

Perfect for a quick get away!

Adorable cottage in a quiet area during our stay! It was our first time at ocean lakes and the owner called me to tell me how everything works before our trip! I really appreciated that! Beds were comfy, everything was perfect!

Great location but wasn’t a 2 bedroom

Communication with the owner was great and the location was great. However it was only one bedroom, the bunk beds were in the hall and were tiny. My teenage daughter and son couldn’t fit in them. My 2 teenage sons couldn’t stand up tall in the kitchen without hitting there head on the ceiling (1 is 18 and the other is 16). I had to have one of my sons stay with my friend because he just wasn’t comfortable because he couldn’t fit sleeping wise anywhere (bunk beds were too small and ceiling were too low). The house also smelled of mildew and mold. I was disappointed because the owner was so nice and welcoming.

Christmas at the beach

The community was very nice. All the neighbors that were staying in the vicinity were very friendly and welcoming. House was very clean and very quiet. Never had such a relaxing time.
