BuckWild cabin. Within hiking distance of Au Sable River with it's Quality fishing trophy rainbow and brown trout /Hunting/Canoeing and Kayaking/BullGap ORV/Wolf Creek frontage/ Birding -- famous Kirtland's Warbler spring/summer nesting and yes they are real. Authentic Rustic Cedar Log -PermaLog Cabin. Very peaceful cedar and pine private acreage. Large campfire pit. BuckWild IS EXTREMELY rustic...NO HEAT and NO AC other than a small space heater and a box fan provided. bring the woollies Just in case... Also note there is a pet fee....and this is a dog friendly cabin. So sorry but cats are not allowed. Fireplace is beautiful, and is operational. enough wood is supplied for 1 fire per day. a new addition! Da Bear has been sighted in yard....watch this video. https://youtu.be/bYB_1X4ZLwY This authentic permalog cabin is as close to nature as you get short of sleeping in a tent yet still has a brand new modern hot shower and full kitchen.

All new for 2023: brand new and expanded bathroom. No more dingey standup shower stall. 32x60 shower with modern fixtures and new oak floor. It is fabulous and far more spacious for your most discerning guests. And yes the 18 gallon water heater was trashed in favor of a gas fired on demand whole house unit....enabling us to utilize a future antique clawfoot tub (hopefully by spring 2024. as of today's date this tub is still on the drawing board) in addition to an unlimited supply of the best northern Michigan hot water in both the tub and shower simultaneously if desired. No more 3 to 5 minute showers. Anticipation!

New for 2024. joining the modern Era in a small way.....added a smart TV for those wanting to stream. wifi is online. also updating kitchen countertop and sink... wait til you see this splashy update.


Additional note....please be accurate on reservations. The 150 per night is for 2 persons. All additional persons are 35 each per night. And dog fees are additional as well.

Definitely coming back!
We had a great time!!! The bed was a queen size and it was very clean and comforable. We had very warm showers too. There was plenty to do as it's close to Bull Gap , Wolf Creek, an the Ausable River. The hosts were very hospitable. They surprised us with kabobs for supper one night and the next night invited us to listen to music, talk, and have a couple of drinks in their Party Barn that they are currently working on. This place is perfect for a couple and we are definitely going back. The only suggestion that I have is that it needs to have curtains in the living room.

Weekend away.
Had a great time riding the trails and enjoying some of the local festivities. Host was very friendly and accommodating. Cabin was very quiet and cozy but still close to town and the trails. Thanks for a great stay.

BuckWild is at the edge of the Mio village. So while it feels and smells like you are in the forest....you get some essential city services. like crisp clean and pure Northern Michigan water...not a well! All the fixtures are modern and clean. So with the rustic off grid like feel you can walk to the grocery or fine dining
