FEBRUARY SPECIAL FREE LATE CHECK-OUT UP TO 5:00 PM if Available! Enjoy more Ski time on US or Go Sledding at Pinecrest Lake, 5 min away! I have 3 sleds and 2 snow discs, Leland Sno Park is only 10 mins away! Ski or Sled and come back to load the car! Sugar Bear Cabin is at the top of the mountain located in the gateway to the High Sierras. You can avoid driving up the mountain to get to all of the winter-time activities. Our roads are plowed. We welcome two well behaved dogs, but bring your crate if you need to leave them alone in the cabin. Dog Sitter Available.

We are nestled into a forest set back from the street. Enjoy this tree house like cabin that offers privacy and comfort.

We provide complimentary coffee, cocoa, tea and sugar condiments. We have instant hot water at our coffee station too.

We are a fully loaded cabin, just bring the food and fun! Check the amenities section. Don't bring up more than you have to. We try to stock the cabin to where all you need is your clothes and food.

52" smart TV for streaming. Free WIFI! More upgrades! We are added a new queen bed and mattress to sleep 8, New deck cushions for the Spring to make it even snazzier! We are always looking to improve your stay! This is NOT Grandma's Cabin!

Our location is near 2 grocery stores and a mini mart that sells fresh food. It doesn't price gouge either. It has the best burger and burritos around! All are located within 2 to 10 minutes directly off of highway 108 which is kept plowed.

Sugar Bear becomes magical in the winter-time. Up-close snow covered Sugar Pines with an extra large deck perfect for building frosty or other snowy creatures! We keep 5 sleds to enjoy local sledding. Pinecrest lake is 5 minutes away and great for kiddos to enjoy safe and free sledding experience. Grab a hot cup of cocoa at Pinecrest Market Hut or enjoy a winter BBQ! Leland snow park is just down the highway. It is a lodge style snow tubing spot for adults and kiddos. Hang out at the outdoor viewing deck while sipping a glass of wine or beer with lunch. The staff helps the kiddo toddlers carry the tubes and they assist them getting in and at the top of their own special hill. A warm fireplace greets you and you can enjoy food and treats while viewing the tubers.

We are 12 minutes away from Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort! Snow Tubing is available! Easy access on snow plowed roads. Just 14 min away from Sugar Bear Cabin.

Historic Columbia State Park is a gold miners' town set in the 1800s! Enjoy the many stores, bakeries, and restaurants. Watch them make HUGE homemade Candy Canes every December!

Rail Town 1897 State Park offers train rides, and old trains to explore! Set in the another fun Goldrush town Jamestown, CA! Enjoy antique shopping and delicious foods and desserts!

Murphy's is wine country with 28 wineries! Enjoy your day sipping wonderful California wines. All of them are unique and in a mountain vineyard setting! Wintertime is magical.

As an investor and Realtor we have owned many properties throughout the years. We are excited to own our first vacation rental property, Sugar Bear Cabin in Cold Springs, CA. We have enjoyed renovating Sugar Bear, spending time with our family there, and now sharing it with you, your family or friends.

Besides Sugar Bear Cabin, I own a short-term Vacation Rental Business. I bring together many other caring owners with guests to make memories in their beautiful cabins. The cabins, Cabin House in the Forest, Cedar Pine Retreat, Alpine Chalet, and new to VRBO, Cap't Carls Cabin, range from 10, 8, and 6 person stays. All offer unique amentities in this beautiful Cold Springs, CA neighborhood. This allows guests to book multiple cabins next to eachother for multiple family and friend stays. It is away from highway noise, yet elevated to enjoy treehouse views of the spectacular Sierra Pines! It is located in a quiet cul de sac, nesled in a forest making it private as well as peaceful! Located in a special and quaint community called Cold Springs. It sits at an elevation of 5,700 feet, in the Gateway of the High Sierras. It is surrounded by breathtaking High Sierra mountain views. We are 5 minutes away to Pinecrest Lake, and 15 minutes to Dodge Ridge Ski Resort. There's ice skating at Long Barn Lodge, snow tubing at Leland Snow Play and jet skiing, water tubing and skiing, or fishing at Beardsley Lake. Black Oak Casino is 20 minutes away where the whole family can enjoy bowling and arcade fun for all ages on the lower level.

Sugar Bear Cabin is unique because it is perched approximately 20' above the ground, and set back into the forest. It feels like a tree house. We are in a cul de sac and away from road noise. You can hear and feel nature. There is the beauty of the wind as it passes through the trees and a quiet peacefulness you can feel while relaxing on the deck, or sitting inside on a snowy day with views from every room to enjoy a spectacular winter wonderland as the snow gently falls. The sun sets between the trees and evokes the peace, and beauty of nature. Due to the unique way the cabin nestles into the forest on this large lot, it gives you the privacy! It doesn't get better than that!
