We were at Deerfield Cottage for 6 days; 5 adults ,1 infant. These are the pros and cons
Pros:
The house was mostly clean. Dog nose art on some windows.
There were ample towels/pillows/toilet paper.
It is pet-friendly (we did not end up bringing our dog)
It has woods on 2 sides (where the deer come from)
There is a smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime
Cons:
No guests of any kind. This is in the rules, I just missed it. And we did get charged extra for family visiting us. No wild party, just old folks sitting around talking. Rules is rules, especially when there is a buck to be made. People under the age of 24 have to be supervised. Seriously. Itâs in the rules!
Proximity to the woods means bugs, inside and out. Outside, a lot of spiders and accompanying webs on the front porch and the deck. You need to sweep/wipe EVERYTHING if you want to sit outside.
One (1) common bathroom. Showers and bathroom breaks need to be coordinated if you are a large party. Also, the bathroom has a pocket door, which was very loud in the middle of the night.
Three of the 5 adults did NOT have cell service. Internet IS available, but is slow and spotty.
The owners do not wish to have anything plugged into their TV, so donât plan on using gaming systems or computers with their tv.
The dishwasher works but it doesn't.
The closet/bedroom that has a barn door that easily falls off the rails (owners notified).
A long stay, it feels like you actually arenât welcome there. But your money is.
