The floor on main floor was extremely dirty. I think it needs a good steam cleaning. The yard was poorly neglected. Basically dead grass and stickers everywhere.

The property was not maintained inside or out.

We stayed 5 days celebrating Christmas with family. I liked the set up of the kitchen because several of us would be preparing meals. Both ovens smoked when you cooked something in them. The sheet pans were so old. We had one thin mitt for the oven. The pictures of the property online look beautiful however the inside is old and run down. The family room was old and the furniture was dirty looking. Two door knobs fell off when we tried to open them. My daughter sat down on a chair with her 8 month old and the arm of the chair fell off. It is on the beach so that was nice. Way too much money to spend for the condition of the house.

Overpriced for the condition of the home

Location is good. Size of the house was good. A/C worked well except for one bedroom that was warm. Backyard is fenced in, I assume for owners dog as there was dog feces all over the lawn, or rather dirt, no grass only weeds and dirt. Backyard and patio were filthy, furniture was filthy, I took pictures as I was in disbelief that someone would rent a home in that condition. The fenced in backyard made it very confusing as to how to access the beach. One gate was padlocked and the other appeared to go in neighbors back yard. I had to call management company to find out how we accessed the beach. All in all we enjoyed our family time but I would not rent this house again, the back of the house was disgusting. Needs to be cleaned

There were a variety of issues, some self-induced: 1) Key Box Directions were confusing - we arrived at dusk: "key box is located on the ground level, by the stairs". There was one ground-level door by the stairs with a key box. There were two key boxes total, one we did not even see until the next day, so we missed our first night in the property): one on the door (which we assumed was the right one) and one on a stairwell post that was not readily visible. In addition, we were swarmed by mosquitos, had to leave (run) to our car and go to Wal-Mart to buy mosquito repellent. Came back to the property, killed most of the mosquitoes, still could not get the key box open because we were using the wrong key box. Had to drive back to Houston / go home, came back the next day and saw the correct key box immediately. 2). After-hours phone number was not apparent when you call in for support. When I spoke to staff for Sand n Sea, they were defensive, bordering on rude (I was admittedly frustrated and probably difficult to deal with). 3) The back of the house/backyard was in VERY poor condition (they don't show you the back of the house in the pictures. 4) The interior was in average to Good condition, although blinds were missing throughout the house / in every room, paint repairs needed, AC very slow to cool, damaged chair at table 5) EXCELLENT LOCATION / CLOSE TO THE BEACH, CLOSE TO Galveston proper. Unlikely to use Vrbo again; minimally won't rent a Sand n Sea house.
