Enjoy spectacular lake and mountain views from the great room of this second floor multi-level loft unit. Enter into the open kitchen, dining area. Down a half level is the spacious master bedroom suite with a queen sized bed and private full bath with a whirlpool tub. Up a half level from the kitchen is the living room, complete with a wet bar, fireplace, wireless internet, cable TV and DVD player. The second bedroom with a double bed and single bed, loft with day bed and second full bathroom are up another half level from the living room. Permit ID: STR-200008

Location was 10 out of 10.Full disclosure about the rest of this review - we were cautioned by the booking agent that the unit was fully functional but overall was "dated". In my mind the easiest visual for the overall esthetic of the unit - imagine staying at your grandparent's house. The smell when we walked in wasn't offensive - it just smelled like "grandparents". Everything was clean - just dated. The beds were functional, but in drastic need of an update. The bedding was threadbare. My kids didn't mind. It didn't impact my quality of sleep - it was just noticeable. One thing even my kids commented on was the less than 1-ply toilet paper. Although a quick run to the local store would have addressed this issue, better toiletries is something we experienced renting lower cost VRBOs.This review isn't meant to be scathing - just an honest appraisal of our experience. We loved the view (10 out of 10) and location. Morning coffee overlooking the lake was an awesome and calming memory. If the intent of your rental is to not stay in a tent while exploring Lake Placid, you will not be disappointed. However, if you travel a lot like me, you expect certain creature comforts provided by the host when you rent this level of VRBO. A few small, inexpensive upgrades would have made the entire experience 10 out of 10 stars.

Nice convenient location with great view

We had a great extended weekend stay. The property was just as described and the process was very smooth. We got 20" of snow and the neighbor "Tony" was awesome. He looked forward to shoveling everything.

Excellent property! Clean with awesome location!

Great location, was able to walk in town with kids to nearby restaurants café and shopping. We packed our bikes and rode around town also. Place was cleaned and well kept. Furniture was a little dated but otherwise everything was great. Will definitely use property again.

Excellent space for family of 4 or 5

For our family of 4 for an extended weekend it worked out great. 2 bedrooms on separate levels, large common area with wood burning fireplace, great views of Lake Placid with the mountains in the background. Full size kitchen had pretty much everything you needed. 2 full and and one half baths were dated but very clean and functional. You’re walking distance to town and the Olympic center, short drive of about 15 minutes to Whiteface Mountain.

Lakefront gem on Lake Placid

We enjoyed our stay at this lakeside gem just a short stroll from Main Street this winter. Very easy to walk to and from town for dining and shopping. Excellent location for short rides to Whiteface Mountain. Unit is rustic and spacious. Plenty of room to spread out on multi-levels. Decor is rustic and a older/dated yet the location and views of the lake and mountain and coziness make this a perfect spot. Plenty of wood to make a fire and easy parking too. Would definitely stay again. Great communication with management too.
