Cons: Condo unit was upgraded but there was a musty smell coming from the walk in closet in the master bedroom. The window treatments and patio door verticals need upgrading. Water stains on them from some sort of water leak. Pros: Location, parking, upgraded bathrooms and the view from the balcony.

Spectacular balcony

Property was fabulous. We spent our time on the balcony, 4 beds in 2 rooms was perfect. The teens played football on the beach and swam in the ocean while we watched from the balcony. Clean, great communication with Jon. We’d stay again!

Great stay

Condo was very spacious and stocked well with everything you would need for a relaxing vacation. Plenty of beach chairs and towels and you can also rent chairs and umbrellas from the main office for the beach. There is a small restaurant in the other Tides building that delivers. Owner was always quick to respond to any questions. Great stay overall

The View Alone Is Worth It
..

This is a great property! The views of the ocean, the waterway and the city were amazing! The penthouse was clean and spacious and had plenty of amenities that make life so much simpler. Great base for the weekend activities! Had to call the host in the very beginning and they responded within 1 minute. Everything about this property is great!

Our worst vrbo experience. Although property managers, Jon and Julia were responsive, our experience with the owner was terrible:We stopped at SAMs on way in for groceries for 16 day stay, checked in at 8pm, loaded a fridge that was set on max cold but clearly was too warm on Day1. End of Day 2 a technician confirmed the fridge was not working (milk was 57 F), we were forced to throw 200 worth of food. Day 3 kitchen water turned off, a used refrigerator brought in that didn't fit. Day 4 they cut cabinets to fit fridge, water turned back on. Day 11 - Fridge filter brought in so we could use fridge ice maker/water.On Day 1 there were 5 towels for six guest, they were old with one having hole in it. There was only one kitchen towel, no wash card to put money on for washer/dryer (other renters provide this) we had to buy our own card, and no heads up when the water was shut off one day and we received no warning, the early warning goes to the owner, and this owner is unplugged.The whole experience seemed like an owner trying to get by on the cheap, with little effort put into a pleasant experience for guests. We stayed at another unit last year, gave them 5 stars, as the owner was responsive and catered to guests, they had a item checklist prior to every stay (fridge operation, towels, washer card, tv/remote operation, etc
)Lastly, The owner promised to reimburse us 150 for groceries lost, but after a 11 days we still have not received it, likely never will.

Beautiful penthouse

The penthouse was absolutely amazing. It’s right on the beach, very safe, great pool, great location, bedrooms are big, beds are comfortable and the overall space was big. We really enjoyed staying here and will be back to rent again. Highly recommend

Great spot!

Plenty of space for our family of 5. Love the beach access and pools. The check in process for the building was a bit cumbersome (you have to pay for fobs for anyone over 14 - it cost us 60 for these even though we only stayed 2 nights and 1 full day). This is a building requirement though, so there is no way around this rule. We felt that the building was safe and were comfortable on the property. There’s an amazing Argentinian empanada place right across the road - highly recommend! Publix is a short walk away. The kitchen is stocked well- we could have used a few hot pads in the kitchen though to pull things out of the oven with. The actual apartment has some nice upgrades, but it is an older unit and older building, which shows in some areas.

Staycation

There were a couple of things that were a little bothersome about renting here which I will mention below but overall it was a nice stay. The location is right on the hallandale beach, the property was way bigger than the pictures look like, high ceiling and spacious living room area, two spacious bedrooms both with walk in closets, with enough room to unpack and hang all our clothes. The apartment was VERY well equipped, the kitchen had everything you need, we were able to make breakfast using stove and pots and pans. The bathroom was also very well equipped , there was shampoo and body wash, blow dryers, and plenty of towels even for the beach/ pool use. We were a bit surprised to find only one shower so you have 1.5 bathrooms, only one shower for 8 people was a bit of a challenge, but not too bad. The balcony has a lovely view and two big comfy chairs to enjoy the sun & view. The penthouse was very clean, organized and spacious, big enough for 8 of us to be comfortable. There were a couple things we felt like we should have been told before hand. For example the parking fee, its not included in your nightly rate for the room. We had the option of paying for the week pass (1-7 days) thats what we ended up doing, even though we only stayed 2 nights it was the best rate. Also there is another registration fee we werent aware of till the day before check in- it grants you 2 pool bracelets and one FOB key card which grants you access into the building, pool and beach, you Must register at the lobby office to get your FOB key, we got 3 since it was 4 couples and the owner had 2 extra he was able to spare, that was nice of him. This registering process was a little time consuming and a bit frustrating but his assistant Julia was so sweet and helpful throughout the process. So you will arrive at The Tides, you will drive to the side of the building to meet with Julia, go to the registering office , pay for your FOB and bracelets, then you go to the valet to park your car and pay. Julia will do a walk through with you of the apt. The other issue we were a little annoyed was with the pool, they are quite strict and intimidating ( the ppl who own apt there) it is an older crowd, so they are paying attention to everything you are doing, you must be wearing your pool bracelets in order to be in the pool, no speaker/music allowed either. This is not on the hollywood beach strip.
