Deer Dune, the Dune house is located at the end of the road in a secluded Saugatuck MI enclave of a handful of homes. Nestled in oaks, pines and decades old rhodendrums that blanket the landscaping. The home is an architectural gem and is regularly frequented by Deer, Turkey and the Owl. Enjoy the relaxation of rural refinement and the sounds of Lake Michigan on the dunes with all the amenities of Douglas, Saugatuck and Oval & Douglas Beach just minutes away.
The Dune House, brings the outside in with expansive windows and doors that reach from floor to ceiling and doors that sweep open to bring in uninterrupted nature and landscaped panoramas. Deer Dune’s décor is rich in eclecticism with contemporary furnishings, antiques and appointments and original art that show case stunning contemporary lines. We like to think it’s fun, cozy, comfortable and smart with a deference to the traditions of lake Michigan that will create a nostalgia, memories and stories to last a lifetime.

Five bedrooms with four bathrooms, two ensuite.
Spacious layout with 3 houses. (Main house) Two bedrooms, one up and one main level, the loft and street side. The Loft has a private balcony. Two (2) bathrooms, laundry room, and open living area with living, TV, stereo, dining, kitchen, wood burning fireplace with complimentary firewood.
(Cottage house) Two bedrooms, named the library and the Cottage room, one up and one down. The Cottage, upstairs bedroom is ensuite with bathroom.
(Studio house) One bedroom ensuite with shower. Private balcony. The lower level is the game room with pool table, TV and lounge area seating.
Outdoor covered and screened dining. Sunning porch.
Gourmet kitchen with counter island seating for four. Dining table seats 8. Outside BBQ
Fireplace, wood burning with complimentary firewood.

We came here as a family for my daughter's wedding. We hosted a small rehearsal dinner at the home, and our closest family members stayed at the property. It was beautiful, well-appointed, comfortable and in a beautiful setting. I stayed the last night alone with my cousin and we relaxed on the screen porch which was just as lovely as the rest of the house! I highly recommend!!!!

We celebrated our anniversary with the kids and our two dogs. The property was beautiful and the house was so very clean, comfortable and well equipped! Bedrooms were incredible. Everything was great! Highly recommend.

This is our second time at Deer Dune, and we love it. Great spaces to be together, but provides private space for each of our 4 families, too. Wish I could take the spacious, well-stocked kitchen home with me. Walking distance to DouglasBeach. Host is very responsive and helpful.

Fantastic stay at The Sanctuary at Deer Dune in Saugatuck! Our host, Michelle, was phenomenal! Extraordinary at communicating - super responsive. The property was even better than described. Immaculate, well provisioned, and expansive! A main house with two connected satellite units, wooded surroundings, a fire pit, and all within minutes from downtown Saugatuck and Douglas. There were six adults and 1 baby (our granddaughter, who, by the way, has been unanimously voted (yes, by us, but still) "by far the cutest person on the planet") and there was plenty of room to roam! Check in and check out were a breeze. And everything else was equally smooth and easy. We'll most certainly be booking again!

What an incredible place. All of our guests were able to have their own private spaces in this luxurious and spacious home. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could ever desire and all other amenities were exceptional. Our dogs enjoyed the screened in porches as well as the wooded back yard. Private, secluded, perfection. We didn't want to leave.

Our party of seven had an incredible long weekend at Deer Dune. We were celebrating two milestone birthdays and the space was perfect for parents with adult children and spouses! Everything in the home was beautiful. We loved the artwork, the comforts of home, and all the amenities you could ask for. The house has everything you need! Highly recommend and would be happy to return someday!

It was really beautiful. I'm one of the buildings had a little bit of a musty odor to it where the garage was and they made into a pool table. And then the electrical did not work in the bathroom of that same building, but overall it was really a great property. We definitely would go there again. It was a beautiful surroundings. The host was easy to communicate with. It was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. I was so impressed with all of that so yeah great great property.

Communication is helpful for addressing any issues that arise during a stay. That allows prompt attention & resolution that promotes a seamless stay . We make a point of checking in with guests during the stay if we are unaware of any problems like a tripped GFI & a musty smell in the entry into the building we are unable to fix until check out. Our game room is a step up from a simple garage . It offers guests a fridge, laundry area, seating area with big screen television, game table & pool table . It has original art & unique local pieces.

We loved Deerdune! A quiet hidden retreat but so close to everything! We saw wildlufe everyday. The house had everything we needed. Would highly recommend.

Guests, have the opportunity to connect, look inward, share stories, make memories, relax, and rejuvenate amongst trees, wildlife, the Dune, and on occasion amongst the sounds of Waves of Lake Michigan. Guests can do as little or as much as they desire. Our setting provides a back drop for guests to have the opportunity to maximize their getaway with little effort. We are close to farm to table dining, coffee houses, craft cocktails, spas, nature trials, marinas, dune rides, art galleries, boutique shopping, book stores, antiquing, beaches, water sports, golf, dune rides, live entertainment, wineries, festivals, and much more.
