Our stay in Tobyhanna was overall nice; however, I did experience several safety-related issues that I feel need to be addressed.The main concern was the ice on the steps and driveway. When we arrived on Friday, there was already ice present, which made it very difficult for me and my guests to unload our belongings from our cars. I notified the owner about the ice, and she informed me that there was salt in a red pail. I explained to her that this was the first place I checked before calling and that no salt was available. Expecting guests to salt the property themselves is unreasonable and unsafe.It snowed the following day, and it took approximately an hour for maintenance to arrive and put salt down. Unfortunately, it snowed again on Sunday, and no one came to shovel or apply salt. As a result, one of my guests slipped on Sunday morning due to the ice.Another serious concern was the stand-up shower in one of the bathrooms. The shower door opens inward instead of outward, which made it very difficult and unsafe to enter. I informed the host about this issue as well. Because of safety concerns and fear that the door could fall on someone, we chose not to use that shower. As a result, all 11 women had to share one shower, as we did not want to risk injury or be responsible for potential damage to the shower door.These issues significantly impacted our stay, particularly from a safety standpoint, and I felt it was important to document them.
