Semi-oceanfront and affordable in quiet South Nags Head!

Ocean Melody is just a short 1 minute stroll to the beach. This house is located in the Pelican Park Subdivision on a private drive that is calm and quiet. Ocean Melody is only 250 feet to the beach, with no streets to cross. This cottage is very well-equipped and furnished and kept in excellent condition by the owners. The location at the end of a shared drive is private and out of the way yet so close to the beach! There is no thru traffic in this subdivision, which has only 13 cottages. You can relax without worries about the kids (or pets). There is a convenient storage under the house for your beach gear and a private hot & cold out-side shower.
South Nags Head is arguably the best location on the Outer Banks for a family vacation. It is a totally residential area enveloped by the Cape Hatteras National Seashore yet is only minutes from a variety of retail and recreational outlets (Jennettes Pier, Tanger Outlet Mall, many restaurants). Families will find the quiet, low-traffic and non-commercial atmosphere relaxing yet appreciate how easy it is to drive to the grocery store, restaurants, the movie theater, or a putt-putt course. The large multi-use path that parallels Old Oregon Inlet Road for its 4.5 mile length and is great for running, biking, or walking. Oregon Inlet Fishing Center is a full service marina with boat ramps and is just a couple of miles south of Ocean Melody if you need a convenient location for offshore or inshore boating and fishing.

Super clean and nice

Wonderful location. VERY clean. We knew sheets and towels etc, weren’t provided, so that wasn’t an issue. We actually left a new sheet set for future guests. The only issue was it was kinda difficult to get the lock box open to get the key out. There were also extra beach supplies provided, we appreciated that as well.

Great location!!

Very very short and easy walk to the beach. One of the easiest beach acces points I’ve found (just a few steps) that made the beach days so much more enjoyable!!! The kitchen was fully equipped and had everything we needed to cook meals. The location of the house was perfectly situated between the southern OBX activities (Graveyard of the Atlantic museum, etc), the Northern activities, and the activities (Corolla wild horses, etc), Roanoke Island (lost colony), and was right at everything in Nags Head (Jockey’s Ridge, etc). However it’s off the main road in a very quite area. We couldn’t have been more pleased. Definitely recommend!

Wonderful location but


We rented this property on a last minute trip and it was an amazing location! The property management company was very responsive and nice to work with. The property itself is older and outdated (no roku/Netflix), but we honestly didn’t mind that. My only complaint is the amount of things that are NOT provided, which was a pain in the butt to bring so much extra stuff. Such as towels (bath/beach), bed linens including sheets/extra blankets/pillowcases, paper products (including TP), salt/pepper, coffee filters etc. It also said the property had a grill but we couldn’t find it
 not the worst thing in the world but had to eat out a little more. Listing was new to vrbo so some details were inaccurate about the property, so the grill detail could be inaccurate also and we just didn’t know it. Overall I would absolutely rent there again, but just be prepared to bring a lot for your stay.
