You are a 2 minute stroll to the beach access at our 2 bedroom 2 bath Escape Hatch. We have beach chairs available and at the end of your beach day shower off at the outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Open concept living kitchen area with WiFi and smart TV. Bedrooms have queen beds and TV’s. Walking distance to local restaurants, bars and shopping.
On site free parking and pet friendly with a $50 non-refundable deposit. Max of 4 guest. Weekly rentals Sun to Sun preferred June-August.

The house is bright, cheery, and clean; the beds are comfortable; and the kitchen is well-appointed. Van, our host, was also very welcoming. The location is fantastic - just a short walk from the beach. We hope to be back!!

Our stay was perfect. So clean when we arrived, pet friendly, and great communication. Steps from the beach we were able to go everyday, and the neighborhood was great for dog walking. We loved it. Highly recommend.

We loved this house - outdoor shower was great, and it’s so close to the beach. Van was a great host, and we would definitely stay here again.

I want to say how nice it is to back up to the house and have about four steps to carry your luggage into the house! You can see the beach access about 3 short blocks away. Wondering places to walk the dogs. This is the most quiet place i have ever stayed. Plan on staying here again for sure. Great restaurants close by.

Great place!

Beautiful little house with plenty of room and close access to beach and walking distance to the shopping and restaurants. We had a great time and owner is very courteous and accommodating. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning!

Perfect getaway

Clean, close to beach property was the perfect getaway for our family of four plus dog. Conveniently located near restaurants and the beach (walkable to both) and just down the road from the grocery. Highly recommend. Host was proactive and property exceeded expectations.

Excellent stay

This house was clean upon arrival and Van was very open and communicated well through-out the entire stay. The walk to the beach was less than five minutes, which was great when traveling with a child and dog. We are already making arrangements for a second stay.

We had a fantastic time! The house was perfect for us and our dog. It was an easy walk to the beach and multiple restaurants. Great little house, great location

We loved staying here. We got lucky with early May weather and the location was wonderful. My wife loves the Posh Pelican and AB Surf shop and her being able to walk to both may not be a good thing!!!

Cute cottage close to beach

We enjoyed our stay at the “Escape Hatch”. A few minutes walk to the beach in a cute little cottage, located in a quiet neighborhood. Van was easy to communicate with and informative about the area. We hope to return next year!

Perfect dog-friendly spot in Atlantic Beach

My wife and I stayed at the Escape Hatch between Christmas and New Year's with our dog. The location and amenities were perfect for us. The house was clean with a well appointed kitchen. We enjoyed relaxing on the wrap-around deck in the mornings with our coffee. The location was great. It is a short walk from the beach and several restaurants/bars, and a short drive to Fort Macon State Park. Staying in winter we didn't take advantage of the kayaks, but will keep in mind for a future visit!

Short get away

The place was just as it stayed in the VRBO listing. It was clean and neat. Very convenient to beach and some restaurants as well as some shops. We loved that we got to take our dog with us. We loved the porch chairs where we could drink coffee and relax in the mornings and evenings. The weather was beautiful the days we stayed. We would stay here again for sure.

Relaxing

This home is furnished so cute, with everything that we could have possibly needed. The location is great on a very quite street. There's gates on the patio to contain a pet or small child. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Escape Hatch

This place is truly an escape hatch. The location to the beach and shopping places are right at your doorstep. The neighborhood is quiet and has beautiful landscaping. The house is equipped with everything you need and the host was always in touch and available. If you want to get away to escape and refresh, this is a place for you.

Fantastic Location & Vacation

Loved our stay! Van was welcoming and communicative. Anything you could need for your stay was available. Water pressure for the shower was awesome and height of shower was good for anybody. Most comfortable bed ever! Location of the house was perfect, 2 blocks to the beach with restaurants and shops close-by. Quiet neighborhood with welcoming neighbors. Thank you Van... We will be back!

Cute cottage in great location

This property was as advertised and overall we were very pleased with our stay. It is a short, easy walk to the beach, shops, and a few restaurants (recommended lunch at the Shark Shack). It had a great set up for our small dog with a gated deck. The weather was great for sitting outside on the deck and the outdoor shower made return trips from the beach easy. It was a great spot for a long weekend getaway. There are a few things that could be improved like including a rod in the front bedroom closet, hooks near the showers, and a few more kitchen essentials (e.g. non-cutlery kitchen utensils, glasses). The hall bathroom door/lock also stuck sometimes. But overall these were very minor inconveniences and did not impact our lovely stay. The owner is very friendly, flexible and easy to communicate with. We would recommend this rental and would stay here again.
