Great house, large rooms and comfy beds. Pretty backyard. Loved the location. Only issue was the cleanliness: my mom found 2 dead flies and a spider in her room, we had to clean the floors (because we had crawling babies) and the towels came up black and we found small beads around which were a choking hazard, and a LARGE spiderweb right outside the patio door and covering the grill. Also, we had to run to the store to get a battery for the smoke detector because it started beeping during nap time and the battery in there was from 2024Overall, great place, stay and location just needs a DEEP clean

Thank you for your honest feedback. We strive to provide a five-star experience and are disappointed we fell short of your expectations. I make every effort to remain accessible to guests, including providing my personal cell phone number. Had we been made aware of these concerns during your stay, we would have welcomed the opportunity to address them. This is also why I reach out at check-in to ensure everything is satisfactory. As you requested an early check-in, I communicated that to our cleaning crew to accommodate your arrival. While this may have affected the level of detail in the cleaning, it is not an excuse. I will address your feedback with our team. Although occasional insects can find their way into and around the home despite diligent cleaning, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay overall and appreciate your feedback as we continue to improve. Thank you for choosing our home.

This property was very clean and the hosts were very accessible and friendly. The bikes and pickle ball paddles and balls really helped with enjoying the beautiful park right around the corner. Muskegon and Pere Marquette beaches are super close and beautiful and clean. We had a lovely beach getaway! If you have older kids that will want some space, keep in mind there is only one living area. Also, only the master has some built ins, but the other bedrooms only offer a nightstand so we left our clothing in our suitcases. Minor things in the end but they might matter more to others. Overall a wonderful stay, thank you!

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the property, the nearby parks and beaches, and especially the bikes and pickleball equipment. We also appreciate your feedback regarding bedroom storage. We just want to clarify for future guests that each bedroom closet does provide ample hanging space, including hangers and a shelf for additional storage. The bedrooms with with smaller nightstands also have seperate drawer storage systems, while the larger nightstands have multiple deep drawers for clothing and personal items. We certainly understand that everyone has different preferences for unpacking and organizing their belongings, but there is additional storage available throughout the bedrooms for those who choose to use it. We truly appreciate you pointing out the things that matter to guests and are grateful that, overall, you had such a lovely stay. Thank you again for choosing our home. Cheers, Lisa and Matt

À propos de l’hôte

Hôte : Matt and Lisa George

Image de profil de l’hôte
We grew up in the metro Detroit area and started our family there. We took a long drive to Grand Haven/ Muskegon area on our first wedding anniversary before we ended up in Traverse City. We immediately fell in love with Lake Michigan and its shore line. We dreaded the next day when we returned to life and work and discussed how we could return to the shoreline on a more permanent basis.

Three years after our first trip there together we developed a plan to make the move. A business opportunity cemented our move. At the age of 6 months, we moved our first daughter to West Michigan's Lakeshore and haven't looked back. Our second daughter was born here and we fondly refer to her as the only Muskegonite in the family.

Beach days happened every day in the summer. "A bad day at the beach is better than a good day at work." was the motto and continues to this day. We learned how to surf and body board in the waves Lake Michigan has to offer. This area has so much to offer every season.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

Originally from the metro Detroit area, we fell in love with the ocean-like beauty of Lake Michigan. This property was the closest we could find to the the big lake and passed it every time we had a family beach day. The park that boasts tennis/ pickleball courts, a large jungle gym, basketball courts and two toboggan runs in the winter is on the way to the sandy beach of Lake Michigan. The memories we've made for our family have become an everyday occurrence.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Beachwood Escape's proximity to the vacation happenings of West Michigan are second to none all year round! Summer allows the beach bum to dip their toes in the sand and work on the perfect tan while cooling themselves off in the pristine waters of Lake Michigan just a 5 minute walk from the property. Michigan's Adventure, and Lewis Farms are an easy 20 minute car ride. Muskegon Lake, just 5 minutes in the opposite direction of Lake Michigan, offers boat rentals and tours of the lakes. One can tour a WWII submarine docked along the channel.

The autumn is a wonderful time to witness the color change of leaves along the lakeshore deep within a dune's forest. Sportsmen can enjoy the bounty of the lakes all year round from an angler's perspective. Salmon charters are available and walleye fishing in Muskegon Lake are some of the state's finest spots.

Winter along the lakeshore brings icebergs and winter storms that are an amazing spectacle to behold. Watch as waves crash against the ice shelf driving white water 30 feet in the air. The Winter Sports Complex offers many winter activities and is about a 30 minute car drive. People enjoy the Olympic qualifying ice luge, ice skating through a lit up wooded scene, snow tubing and cross country skiing.
