Carothers Castle is a unique house that sits directly on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean making it the perfect destination for a fun and sun-filled beach retreat. It has a direct and private access to the beach. It is the perfect getaway for family and friends, with its six spacious bedrooms, five full bathrooms, one half bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer.

This fabulous home provides a lovely oceanfront covered porch where you can sit and enjoy the views. You can also go swimming in the private pool or relax in the hot tub.

There are many activities to do in the area besides relaxing on the beach. You may want to enjoy on championship golf courses, vintage arcades, live entertainement, music, dancing, and plenty of shopping opportunities. Your taste buds will go crazy over the many dining venues available in Myrtle Beach.

The property description accurately described the amenities at the property. We enjoyed the direct beach access, pool and hot tub. House is starting to show is age but the host was very responsive when needs arose.

My family absolutely loved our vacation week at Carothers Castle in North Myrtle Beach. The house was a perfect fit for the adults and the children. The home was very clean, including the amazing pool and hot tub. The kitchen is well stocked with dinnerware, pots/pans, utensils, etc., and is very spacious, allowing several of us to participate in meal preparation at the same time. The location is private and, except for occasional traffic noise, is also very quiet. We will definitely visit again. I highly recommend this vacation beach house.

I walked through the door and couldn’t believe what a gem I had found on VRBO! This is an older home but beautifully decorated and well maintained. My family of 9 adults, 4 children had plenty of space! 4 bedrooms with en suites, 2 bedrooms that had jack/jill bathroom. The kitchen was so nice plenty of space for large family meals! The host was amazing and very attentive. Location was absolutely breathtaking with ocean views.

The exterior was great. Plenty of parking. Nice pool, easy access to the beach, plenty of chairs, umbrellas and water toys. The hot tub worked great too. Lots of beach towels were available for use.The interior was less so. The lighting in the common rooms was not great. The garbage disposal did not work. Ice was limited to what the refrigerator door provided which was not enough to serve nine people for a week. We had to hunt down bath towels in the laundry since none were placed in any of the bathrooms. There was no hand towels or bar soap and toilet paper was sparse. It just did not feel luxurious and should have for the price I paid. Despite the annoying things I’ve mentioned, we still had a great time.

Nine family members celebrated my husband's 80th birthday. Plenty of space. We were very comfortable with privacy and cleanliness. Pool and hot tub were clean and so enjoyable. Beach was magnificent and clean. K9itchen was well equiped. We all would go back in a heartbeat. It was great.

Location: A. Right on the beach and a short distance to NMB Main StreetExterior: C. The place old and all wood. Too much damaged wood. The electric metal connection boxes were rusted as was some of the plumbing. It just looked uncared for.Pool: C. The size was OK, but the deck was very dirty. I spent half a day cleaning it. Pool furniture was fine. The room with the pool supplies was a total disaster. Poorly lit and things just tossed around without any organization.Hot Tub: C. Nice size but the surrounding furniture was horrible. The upper deck leaked on the furniture when it rained. Crazy!Living area: B. Nice open concept but the decor detail was bad. Wires all over the place for the TV, etc., pictures off the wall to cover some of the wires, and the furniture looked like something out of a Goodwill store. The floors were solid wood but needed cleaned.Kitchen: B. Well stocked supplies (utensils, pots & pans) but again, totally unorganized and stuff everywhere. I an hour or so every day just organizing the kitchen.Bedrooms: D. Lots of beds but old, and uncomfortable. The furniture again was Goodwill quality, and the linen was old & cheap. Bathrooms: D. The sinks & countertops were ok but the showers were the old-style tubs with broken sliding doors. One had to be a contortionist to get in & out of the thing. The flooring in all the bedrooms was not very attractive and in places unsupported which caused them to be soft and sink.

Perfect fall break with family & friends! Beach view from the back deck is incredible for watching the waves or sunrise/sunset. The landscaping and dune layout makes it feel secluded with no other people or houses in sight, yet close enough to so many convenient places or eat, drink, shop, or play! We loved the heated pool & spa with private direct beach access. House is a little dated, but very welcoming with lots of charm making you feel like you’re just using a friends house for a getaway.

This oceanfront house was bright, airy and comfortable. It had plenty of room for numerous people and lots of amenities. We were there for several weeks, loved every minute of it.

Delightful Getaway

This beach house was perfect for our group of 6 adults and an 18 month old. What we liked most was the easy and private beach access and closeness to everything we wanted to do. The house was roomy enough for all of us and comfortable.

This was a lovely home for our family of 8. The hosts were available when we had minor needs. The view was wonderful. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes. The home was clean. There are three bedrooms on the main floor and 3 more upstairs. Access to the beach was wonderful. Be advised the to enter the home you must go up a flight of stairs. Overall, well equipped. Great location! Fantastic resources for entire, large group. We intend to book again for next year. I’m sure the home sees a lot of guests and traffic. As a result, could use some TLC (maybe some paint updates in areas, alignment/inventory of remotes to TVs, blender tops to blenders). Overall, very happy and satisfied with our stay.

Our whole family enjoyed our week at this beach-side house very much. It was clean and beautifully decorated. The pool and easy access to the beach were wonderful. Beach umbrellas and other equipment were provided. One thing that some might need to know is that most of the beds are very soft. Some in our party liked it, some didn't really notice, but for a few of us the very soft beds did not work well.

The house was awesome. We had a blast and the owners were super easy to work with. We were planning to golf ahead of 5pm check in; however, our round was cancelled due to rain and the owners helped us out by allowing us an early check in. Great pool area and located right on the beach. Would definitely book this property again.

Wonderful

The location was amazing. The house was beautiful! Loved having our own private pool and hot tub and also a private entrance to the beach with 3 showers outside for sand. The bedrooms were spacious and the open floor plan of the kitchen, dining room , and living room were perfect for our family. Had a great time with the paddle board set as well and the games in the dining room! Would definitely stay there again. Worth every penny! Host was very gracious and checkin was super easy. Highly recommend for everything you need for R&R.

Family Trip Review

The exterior (deck, pool, hot tub, deck to the beach) are exactly what you want in a beach house. Beautiful & easy access to the beach! The house itself had a nice layout with tons of rooms & bathrooms for everyone to have their own space. We enjoyed family dinners at the large table too! The host was exceptional at quickly responding to questions. Feedback for improvement: the bed mattresses were really soft, everyone mentioned it at some point during the week. The furniture could use some upgrades, but that didn’t negatively impact our stay.

Loved staying here

Location was perfect. Pool was amazing. Beach was beautiful. House was comfortable. There were plenty of beach chairs but the lightweight ones were dirty/moldy probably from being put away wet and sandy so I would recommend bringing your own beach chairs or just using a beach towel. The umbrellas were in good condition as was everything else. The place had everything we needed. We had a wonderful stay and definitely recommend this place. We plan to come back next year.

Great North Myrtle Beach House

Great spot on the beach. The house is spacious yet cozy. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, glassware, mugs and cooking and serving items, etc. The pool and jacuzzi were clean and inviting. Lots of beach chairs, umbrellas and toys. If we had a problem, it was addressed right away. We had 10 adults and 4 children, ages 7 weeks, 6 months, two and six. There was plenty of room for all of us.

Great location, awesome amenities, could use some upgrades

The location, private dock to the beach, pool and hot tub were all amazing. The view from inside the house is also incredible. The kitchen is pretty outdated and the living room furniture is pretty old. My biggest complaint is the sheets on the bed were just awful. The cheapest sheets you can buy on Amazon would be 10 times more comfortable than the sheets on the bed. Could use some extra blankets in the house as well.

Perfect location and amenities

My family meets in Myrtle Beach every year in September, usually in the Cherry Grove area. This year we decided to book somewhere directly on the beach with a heated pool and were in North Myrtle, which we really enjoyed the location. The properly did not disappoint. We survived hurricane Helene at the house and fortunately did not lose power. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and dishes, amenities were in working order and if we had questions, owner was extremely attentive. We had nieces and nephews drive in for a few days, but my husband and I, our daughter and husband, his 3 sisters and their grown children and husbands had a fab time. Games, family time, cooking together, bingo on FaceTime with grandma in Wisconsin, just couldn’t be beat. We will be booking for next year.

Beautiful Beach House with Private Pool and Hot Tub

When we arrived at the beautiful, spacious Carothers Castle, we were enthralled by the views of the ocean from the deck and the changing rainbow-colored lights in the private pool and hot tub. The house was well-designed and modern, perfect for lounging and gathering. Members of our party had room to spread out in the many rooms, with adjoining bathrooms. We loved swimming in the well-maintained salt-chlorine pool and soaking in the hot tub which had a waterfall edge. The kids in our party had fun playing with the pool toys, such as the floating corn hole. We also enjoyed going to the beach every day, where we swam and surfed in the ocean and the kids played in the white sand. Carothers Castle was the perfect vacation home for our North Myrtle Beach family vacation. It was a five-star vacation. Thank you for hosting us.

Clean Beautiful House In A Great Location

This oceanfront house is beautiful, clean and in a great location in North Myrtle Beach. Our group of family and friends totaled 12 adults, and all 12 were very impressed with this rental property. This house is large, but the air conditioning kept both the first floor and second floor frosty cool. This house includes a very large living area, large stocked kitchen, large dining area, heated swimming pool, hot tub, beach chairs/umbrellas, beach towels, beach toys, and parking for many vehicles. None of us had a single complaint. I have only one recommendation. Instead of just an email address, I recommend the owner or property manager provide their renters a contact phone number. Overall, this is an outstanding oceanfront rental house! We rate it a 5 out of 5 stars!
