Located in spectacular countryside minutes from Killarney with views of famous The MacGillycuddy Reeks and The Gap of Dunloe. Escape to our home away from home while soaking up the views. The old school house is a wonderful place to stay. There was plenty of space for our family. The kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfasts and dinners. The beds were very comfortable. And the host was very friendly.

Loved it.

Owners are great. Awesine location close to town but far enough out for quiet. Great views. If your going to drive the Ring of Kerry it’s in a great spot. Highly recommend.

Good Home Base

The place is a ways out of town but easily findable. We had everything we needed, and Gemma was great to connect with. The internet went down which made navigating & planning our day difficult, but Gemma had a fix ready by the time we returned for the day, and it worked out. All of her suggestions for places to check out were spot on. We had a short stay, but it was a good one.

Hazardous location

Unfortunately our stay was marred by trucking transfers from this remote narrow laned “ idyllic location” of harvested hay at high speed past the house day and night. We have been to Ireland numerous times and are not neophytes to driving there. This is certainly not a choice I would repeat for a stay in “Killarney”.

Firstly I would like to say how delighted I am that you have located your login details for VRBO and were to leave this review as I’m aware that you were unable to communicate with us before, during or pre checkout! As I’m sure any reasonable person can comprehend the local farmers hay schedule as well as any passing traffic is something completely out of our control and that of any host in any property. As you have mentioned you visited Ireland several times and thus must be aware of how the rural roads are setup. On checking the location on any map you can see we are 15 kms from Killarney. I’m sorry that you had to be the first of our guests to give us such a poor rating and I trust that you had “better” and less “marring” experiences for the rest of your trip. Wishing you and your husband the very best for future travels.

L’ancienne école est pleine de charme et parfaitement rénovée dans un agréable style contemporain très cosy. Nous avons passé deux nuits super dans cette maison. Elle est très confortable et bien équipée, parfaite pour se détendre après une journée de visite. La ville de Killarney est très proche, ce qui nous a permis de profiter facilement de ses charmantes rues et de ses attractions.
