We poured our hearts and souls into this home, completely remodeling it from the ground up to create a truly unique experience to relax and reset. Grove Haus is a place for visitors to enjoy both the forest and beach, and for those needing a quiet break from everyday life. We are in a nice, safe and quiet neighborhood located 1 min drive from the famous Van Damme State Park beach and only 5 min drive to the beautiful and quaint town of Mendocino.

Very Clean and Comfortable

My husband and I and three college friends really enjoyed our stay here. Right away we noticed that everything was clean and well organized, and the beds were so comfortable! The property was very quiet and easy to find. It was a pleasure to stay here.

Absolutely beautifully decorated houses! We had so much fun and enjoyed our stay so much. My only suggestion is to screenshot access code and instructions prior to arrival due to lack of service in the area. Once we got the wifi it was great!

Beautiful home

I stayed here with 2 friends. The home was absolutely gorgeous. In a very lovely location with deers running thru the yard when you wake up! Great for a family! Very close to the ocean. Host were very responsive!

Great reunion.

Kindergarten friends met from three different areas to celebrate our annual gathering and 70th birthdays. Mendocino couldn’t have been more beautiful, warm and full of interesting sites! The house was comfortable, clean, close to everything and well equipped.

Loved it!!

Great spot for a larger group. The extra cottage was perfect because it allowed for some extra privacy. The beds were super comfortable and both homes were modern and really clean. Our contact was great about responding. Highly recommend!

Stylish & charming

Wonderfully located and thoughtfully appointed - this property was the perfect spot to enjoy Mendocino! This is the perfect place to stay with extended family as there are 2 properties but also plenty of space to socialized together. We really appreciated the stylish decor, thoughtful welcome gift and well appointed kitchen, bathrooms and laundry (best tea and coffee selection we have ever had at a holiday rental!!!) Thank you!

We really enjoyed staying at that house and that area for a view days. The house was as described and we loved it, in and out. Only one advise - could use a new grill. Thanks Ken and Vanessa for this unforgetable experience.

Secluded retreat convenient to stuff

If you are looking for your own private, secluded spot with convenient access to retail this is the perfect spot. Although it didn't work out a friend of ours was planning to stay in the separate "mother-in-law" quarters with a wrap around porch and spa tucked in the back looking out over the forest. The place was clean and better in person that in the pics!

Great Place Great Location Great Host

Ken's place is just as it appears and better. The location is a great spot just off the main Hwy 1 making it very easy to access Mendocino and wineries and hikes north and south from there. Kitchen was well-equipped, particularly for coffee lovers and the house was exceptionally clean. Hot tub was also terrific. Ken's communication from start to finish was also exceptional - proactive and responsive. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Rental

Every detail in the listing is exactly exactly as the house appears.. We had the best time. Location was perfect only 2 minutes from the beach and 10 minutes from Fort Bragg. House was fully stocked with every item you could possibly need. Everything was clean, the house is decorated extremely well, and hosts were very responsive (even though I didn't need to contact them.) I really wish I had taken pictures of tge house, but I promise the photos are accurate! We will definitely stay here again.

Weekend Get Away

We were very pleased, the house is beautifully appointed. The decor is Modern Farmhouse with a combination of Rustic Chic and Boho touches. The home is beautiful!!! There was an assortment of teas, coffees and coffee appliances. The Master Bedroom is very spacious. We enjoyed every aspect of the home. Our friends thoroughly enjoyed the quest house, they said it was perfect and also beautifully appointed. Our family enjoyed the fire pit every night and the hot tub. We had a great experience, we will definitely stay here again.

quiet retreat from the noise of the city

Our stay was relaxing and rejuvenating. It was a great break from the noise and traffic of the Bay Area. The property was just like the pictures- modern, very clean, and in a quiet, forested neighborhood. A very short drive to gorgeous Mendocino. My family recommends exploring the downtown which is refreshingly free of chainstores. Also, visiting the lighthouse and visitor center and collecting glass in Glass Beach in Fort Bragg. Great food in little niches. Met many friendly locals, who have great info about the history of the area and recommendations for places to eat and visit. A big thank you to Joe in Mendocino at the former Chevron gas station who saved us when we got a flat tire. Loved our stay. With so many activities to do, we will definitely visit again.

Nicely remodeled and comfortable

The house was very cute and well appointed, and the room in the second unit exceeded expectations. The location is very convenient to highway 1. We had some trouble with the heat but the host was responsive and compensated us generously for the trouble. We would definitely stay here again!
