Lovely Stay

Great spot to enjoy the Island without being in the midst of its quaint but very busy center Bikes were great to enjoy the whole island with ! And the condo had all the amenities of home .

The studio *was* charming. The area was nice with a local restaurant. Note that the location is a 30 minute walk or carriage ride from downtown. We had great weather and enjoyed the walk but keep that in mind.

Wonderful location for the two of us. Enjoyed the proximity to Stonecliffe. Took advantage of the great lawn fire pits and dinning options. Check out the “other” section of the listing for bike lock code. We’d definitely visit again and the owner was very responsive to answer questions!

quiet get away

Everything was as pictured however,....thought the deck was water facing..... Tub and kitchen utensils, bath salts, coffee, creamer...all nice touches. Just "far enough" from town...

Studio apartment in a great location

The studio apartment has everything we needed, microwave, small refrigerator, sink, dishes, silverware and coffee maker including coffee. The bathroom has a tub with jets and is big enough to accommodate my wife and I (yes, at the same time, lol). And it's 100 yards from the best restaurant on the island, The Woods, imo.

Great Little Get A Way

Well kept. Bikes were a plus. I would add baskets on them for a place to put items when out and about. Jaccuzzi tub was a plus every night after a long bike ride downtown. Quiet. Balcony was nice at night to have a glass of wine or two. Would recommend.

Mackinac Island Condo Rental near Stonecliffe

Overall enjoyable experience in a well maintained and clean studio unit, with interior land views. Lots of construction ongoing at both Stonecliffe Inn (throughout 2023) and Woods Restaurant (through June 2023), so you need to be a bit flexible with construction traffic and noise in the morning. The downtown area is easily accessible by Island (horse-drawn) taxi service, with lots of outdoor hiking and walking in the immediate area.

Peaceful surroundings

LOVED being away from more congested areas but you have to be willing to walk a lot or ride the bikes (pushing them uphill for some distance). We enjoyed the exercise! My husband was able to enjoy the peaceful balcony while doing work on computer. The bikes provided were excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone who doesn’t mind a little physical activity getting back and forth to different places. Owner responded quickly to any need we encountered and even recommended good places for us to eat.

Nice and quiet

The location of the condo ( by the woods restaurant) was nice and quiet. It was great after a day on Main Street and/or golfing. Everything was great and it was really nice to have the bikes. The only thing I would change is the picture that shows the location. It is not downtown but about 2 miles out. If you are not a Walker/hiker you will need bikes and taxis(uphill to condo). Oh- and condo is by Sunset Rock as well. A nice benefit❤️

Quiet location

We loved being on the quiet side of the island!! There was a bit of confusion about our check in date, so the property wasn’t finished being cleaned, but it was addressed promptly. We couldn’t find the bikes, but the owner was very responsive and we got what we needed with almost no delay. Would be lovely if there was more helpful hints (eg, how to find our way to the outer pathway thru the neighborhood rather than going all the way downtown). Overall a great place to stay if you want to avoid the crowds!!

The listing is a little deceptive until you get the “details” of the property, but, overall we LOVED the property, albeit, it was a bit far from town. In the instructions, it was stated to “travel via Star Lines”, and, upon arrival, to “call a taxi”, which the listing even provided the telephone number for the taxi. First, as far as I found, Star Lines no longer exists, and, secondly, although the Island taxis are a great option, the condo unit also has a shuttle service which (they are part of Stonecliffe properties) leaves downtown on the even hour, and, from right outside the condo door on the odd hours!! A one-way trip (luggage included) is 10/person!! I only found out about the shuttles because I asked one of the drivers, not from the listing or the property manager. The shuttle makes the property way more convenient!!! Also, The Backyard restaurant (which sits behind the actual Stonecliffe Hotel, is a great option for a meal, and, it’s only a 5 minute walk!!!

Beautiful and quiet

The accuracy of the other reviews is correct. It is a bit of a ways from the town. We had our own bikes, which can make it a bit easier to get around. Approx. 15-20 minutes to ride to town. The location of the condo, once there, is beautiful. The bike ride into the inner of the island is peaceful. We experienced a part of the island we hadn’t seen before. Less people and quiet. The condo balcony (2nd floor) does face into a nice garden area. There is a patio/deck on site, that overlooks the straits and if weather is right, you get a beautiful sunset! Clean, comfortable room.

Decent but a few suggestions

Setting was very nice, decor very dated as pics show-prob 30 years old. Mattress NOT comfy, could be modified w/a nice mattress cover. No instructions to A/C & we couldn’t get it to work. Cool enough to have windows open but a lil noisy when guests are out late at night & early morn. Plug in garden tub was broke & wouldn't hold water. Overall an ok value. Only 3 bath towels provided for 2 people for a 4 night stay. Attention to these details given/fixed & we would come back. Serene, beautiful location.

2 Miles outside of downtown - 40 Min walk (with elevation)

WARNING. The location is absolutely misleading and a misrepresentation of the property address indicated via the map the listing. You are by the airport/airfield 40 min walking from the main downtown. Your only sources of travel are (A) Walking 40 min (B) Biking (15 min downhill / 30 min uphill) (C) Carriage - which will come 40+ minutes after you reserve it (no matter when you reserve it) The initial listing provides a visual that shows you within the towns limit, however, when you get the actual address you will find you are actually 2 miles outside. When contacting the owner and property manager, they claimed it was their "other" rental, but not the one my spouse and I would be staying in. I attempted to contact the owner on the topic and they ignored my query several times. We finally began to make progress on a compromise. The owner told me they would confirm by the morning of our 2nd rental day. However, the owner stopped replying and at this point (48 hours later) we have yet to hear any response. We paid the price of being downtown (I have several sources such as the Lakeview Hotel, which is smack dab in the middle of downtown), except we were very far from it. In summary, the listing misrepresents the location, misleads you on the time it takes to get downtown, and is ripping you off compared to the other alternatives available.
