Calme - Romantique - Cottage isolé sur le lac

Situé de façon spectaculaire sur le flanc d'une montagne, surplombant un lac étincelant de 12 acres alimenté par une source, notre chalet est parfait pour les jeunes mariés ou les amoureux de la nature - ou pour tous ceux qui apprécient la paix et la tranquillité. Il est niché sur un chemin privé - isolé, calme et privé, entouré par la beauté des bois du Maine.

Il dispose d'une terrasse haute face à nos 200 pieds de façade de lac naturel avec quai et canoë. Sous le soleil de l'après-midi ou sous un ciel étoilé, c'est totalement privé, sur 3 hectares boisés.

Veuillez noter: Nous louons uniquement aux adultes (non-fumeurs).

Le chalet construit en 2005 a un sol en acajou, des boiseries en pin noueux et de grandes fenêtres avec de jolies vues. Le salon ensoleillé a des meubles confortables et neufs et une salle à manger confortable à côté d'un poêle en fonte (bûche en céramique, foyer au propane).

En raison des changements climatiques, j'ai ajouté une pompe à chaleur avec climatisation et chauffage. Les étés dans le Maine sont devenus plus chauds et même parfois humides, donc la climatisation est importante pour une bonne nuit de sommeil.

À l'étage, une chambre romantique en "loft" surplombe le salon et dispose d'un lit plateforme sur mesure de taille queen avec un matelas ferme avec un surmatelas en mousse à mémoire ajoutée. Toute la literie est fournie.

Il y a une petite pièce calme à l'arrière de la maison avec un canapé / lit futon.

La grande salle de bain comprend une laveuse / sécheuse, une douche à l'italienne et une grande armoire en pin sur mesure, avec un évier en céramique mexicain et des tiroirs spacieux pour ranger les vêtements. Les serviettes sont fournies. Une bonne eau douce provient d'un puits profond et privé.

Dans la cuisine compacte, de nouveaux appareils, y compris un four micro-ondes et une cuisinière à surface lisse. (Pas de lave-vaisselle à part vous.) Bon éclairage avec une lumière LED supplémentaire sur le poêle. Ustensiles de cuisine, couteaux, plats, verrerie de qualité - entièrement équipés, sauf pour vos courses.

Il y a un nouveau lecteur CD / radio / cassette, un téléviseur 13 "(connexion antenne parabolique) et un lecteur DVD avec quelques DVD à portée de main. Il n'y a pas de ligne fixe ni d'Internet, mais une bonne réception par téléphone portable. La bibliothèque Augusta, Walmart et Panera Bread à proximité proposent une connexion Wi-Fi gratuite. Annuaire téléphonique, cartes et brochures sont fournis.

Le canot à notre quai est équipé de gilets de sauvetage et de pagaies, et l'eau est très propre pour la baignade et bonne pour la pêche - principalement l'achigan et le brochet.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage. The peace and quiet were exactly what we needed, and the serene pond view off the back deck made every morning and evening feel like a peace of heaven. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with everything we could possibly need, making cooking a pleasure. Every detail of this cottage contributed to a truly relaxing getaway. We couldn't have asked for more.

Delightful getaway

This adorable cabin was perfect for my husband and I. The environment was everything we hoped for and the location was perfect for day trips and exploring the area. They even resurfaced the dirt road the week we arrived!

This property is in a very quiet and secluded area. The dirt road in is maintained well and the scenery is beautiful. The home is beautiful, loved the decor, and had wifi and Roku tv. We found the walk down to the lake was too steep for us to walk safely (late 70’s) so we sat on the deck. We know the area well as we have family living in Freedom. The access to groceries is close as well as gas. Other stores are in Augusta. Went to Bar Harbor and Cadillac Mountain which was beautiful. Highly recommend this home and owner. Will stay again.

Great vacation spot.

We had a great time. The cabin was exactly as advertised. Secluded and quiet. Enjoyed our evening campfires, but watch out for the moose, hahah. Fishing was excellent, but watch out for the giant turtle. Excellent weather. Enjoyed every bit of our time there.

Best relaxation in years

Wanted to spend some quiet time away from everone this was definitely the place. Although the weather wasn't the best thehome lake and surrounding area was perfect. Lake has dome nice bass and perch house has everything we needed.

Secluded is the best part!

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon. We enjoyed the seclusion of the property and the immediate access to the pond. My husband enjoyed using the property's canoe to fish and I loved the wake-free water for paddleboarding. We were close enough to the coast to make day trips. Great location!

Nice small house on a quiet pond

House was exactly as described. Very clean and nicely decorated. Kitchen well stocked. Great for a relaxing getaway and home base to explore other towns. Only recommendation would be some maintenance on path to pond.

House was great! Really enjoyed out stay, Wonderful layout of place- small, but doesn't feel small. Only downside was the drive in on the dirt road - not grated yet, so it had many large potholes. Luckily not a problem for out vehicle.

Fantastic Location

The property was very clean, kitchen well stocked, and with many things to do. Location is very close to town, while very remote. Loved it!! Will return if possible. I would recommend this property to anyone. Ginger was fantastic to work with.

Getaway from it all

The place had everything we needed, was comfortable bright and clean. Surrounded by trees and plenty of sun or shade as preferred. The canoe was easy to get to and launch. The natural stone walk down to the pond was energizing. The fish were definitely jumping. Mid week very quiet and private. Weekend pretty much the same.

Not exactly ON a lake

The way down needs more accommodation. My husband made it down once with difficulty. I made it half way once. We spent the week on the deck looking at the lake. The cottage was beautiful, and better provisioned than any previous rental, but we came for the lake. Never even inflated our tubes.

My cottage features private and secluded water frontage on a 12 acre lake with only 4 homes on it and all are set well back from the water's edge. I'm very sorry you had difficulty. Since you arrived two hours early, my housekeeper had a chance to meet you and she commented to me that your husband appeared to have a physical handicap. If I had known about that beforehand, I would have discouraged you from choosing my cottage. Since it's on a mountainside, the direct path downhill to the lake is steep in places, but I do offer a less direct, alternate path that's quite easy to use. I'll make that path more obvious for future guests who may have strength or balance issues.

nothing was as advertized

filthy, living room did not look as advertised, dirt and hair on couch, dirt, bugs and windows. It's a pity since the windows faced the woods and lake and the breeze would have been fantastic if it was so terribly dirty and smelled musty.

I'm stunned and mystified by your complaints. My housekeeper did her usual thorough cleaning before your arrival -- vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, straightening up... I did hear from the previous guests that they'd enjoyed opening the windows, so maybe they also let in some flies. The furnishings are basically the same as they were when you visited us 9 years ago, with a few upgrades. Perhaps the "musty smell" was because of the house being closed up during the unusual heat wave in Maine at the time of your arrival?

Beautiful oasis

Ginger’s place is even sweeter than it looks in the pictures. The setting is idyllic and the house is set up with guests in mind with a well stocked kitchen and even shelving to store your own food and equipment in the kitchen and toiletries in the bathroom. The way to the lake is a tiny bit of a climb but anything more structured than the few stepping stones here and there would ruin its charm. There are only a few other residents around the lake but there was some construction going on directly across the lake starting on Thursday of our stay: sawing and nail guns etc which broke up the serenity. Hopefully their construction will end soon. It is a beautiful and otherwise peaceful place!

Great fall get away.

Thoroughly enjoyed the extended stay in the woods. We were there to unwind and visit family and this let us do both very nicely. Well equipped, clean, cozy, and welcoming. Thanks for the hospitality!

Peaceful

Clean, well equipped, cozy and quiet. Location was perfect for us to simply relax, read, cook. Kayaked much at Three Mile Pond, played a round of golf at Western View. Both 15 minutes away. Maine Cabin Masters was our draw. The coast is not far but chose to stick close and enjoy the cottage.

Beautiful Hidden Gem

This was a gorgeous property in an amazing location. If you want to feel like you're in the middle of nature but don't like "roughing it" this is the perfect spot. We look forward to returning someday. Thank you Ginger for sharing this unique and amazing place!

Maine is Heaven on Earth to me and I always yearned for a cottage there. This one was an unfinished summer home on 3 wild acres, bordering on a quiet lake-- my dream come true! I worked with a contractor, designing it every inch and I love it so much. It gives me great pleasure to share it with folks who feel about Maine the way I do.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

At my cottage, you're immersed in nature-- surrounded by woods and busy wildlife. My favorite spot is leaning on the deck railing, gazing through the trees to the lake, watching for birds and chipmunks. We've had a groundhog living under a tree near the deck; we regularly see wild turkeys and deer. I've even seen a porcupine waddling down our road. Yesterday while canoeing around the lake, we startled a MOOSE on the opposite bank. And once, a giant heron stood on our dock and then came right up to our driveway.

Our cottage is uniquely private. You could go skinny-dipping, if you wanted.
Augusta is just 10 minutes away, with it's shopping centers and restaurants, but I like the local, Hussey's General Store better. A day at the pretty coast is always a possibility, --for Pemaquid Point lighthouse, local crafts, old books and antiques, and a classic lobster dinner overlooking the ocean at sunset.
