Alas Del Kealoha is a luxurious large private gated (not fenced) house located in the heart of Volcano Village. This beautiful getaway home is a well illuminated 3 bedroom / 2 bath one-story pine house. Sleep up 10 to guests! 8 guests sleep on beds, 2 more guests sleep on couches or twin size air mattresses in the living room.

On the large, covered deck that extends the full length of the house, guests can enjoy a game of ping pong and a BBQ on the gas grill after an adventurous day at the Volcanoes National Park. Enjoy amazing views of the 1/2 acre lush landscaping that surrounds the property while resting in one of our hand-made hammocks. In addition to native tropical flowers, Kahili ginger, wild orchids, ʻōhiʻa lehua, and hapu'u  ferns you will find seasonal delights on our fruit trees and small walking paths throughout the expanse of the property.

This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home is perfect for large families with children all ages, friends traveling together, a special anniversary, or as a writer/artist's retreat. Equipped with a full deluxe kitchen, free highspeed WIFI, laptop-friendly surfaces and large flatscreen television with premium cable service. For small children, we offer a brand new Graco Pack n' Play, On The Go Travel Play Yard for entertainment and a high chair (upon request). For older children and adults, there is a large selection of games such as Monopoly, Scrabble, Pictionary, cards and more! Binder with electronic instructions, umbrellas and umbrella holder are also at hand and ready to be used. We also provide lots of paper and fire starter pellets for the wood burning stove, as well as a starter bundle of dry split firewood.  Come and enjoy this beautiful gem in the heart of the Hawaiian rainforest!

The property was beautiful and as described. I liked the fact that it was 5 minutes from Volcanoes National Park and truly in the middle of the rainforest. Dining options were good but limited in the area (which the owner warned us about). I would recommend staying here.

Beautiful home and amazing location. Had some hot water issues, assumingly due to the storm, host was easy to communicate with and resolved the issue asap. Highly reccomend to anyone wanting to stay in Volcano, the yard and wildlife was exceptional.

Amazing location and windows in the home. It felt like you were in the jungle but infront of a cozy fireplace! The management and maintenance staff checked us in an were wonderful and welcoming. The house is very clean, the kitchen was perfect for making family dinners, and the rooms had fantastic and private views into the jungle. We even saw Chameleons on the trees.

The house is lovely. Very close to VNP. Quiet neighborhood with privacy and parking. The kitchen was well equipped to cook full meals. Amazing property and the kids loved playing ping pong on the porch. Grab groceries before you get to volcano. We will stay here again our next trip!

Beautiful property in paradise. We stayed only 2 nights, but what an amazing time. We wanted to stay near Volcanoes National Park and this property is only a few miles away. We were lucky enough to stay during episodic eruption no 44 and it was nice to be staying so close when the park was evacuated and closed. The house is beautifully decorated and well maintained. The host was very responsive prior to our visit and gave us great advice for our first trip to Hawaii. Volcano Village has some great restaurants and very friendly locals. Wonderful experience from start to finish.

3 nights is a long time to stay in volcano. There’s not much to do other than hike, and we did everything in about a day and a half. We probably should have just stayed overnight. Stay was pricey - cost just as much per night as our vacation on the resort side of the island, but didn’t have air conditioning, lacked a dishwasher, the tv didn’t work, beds and couches weren’t comfortable. Hammock pillow looked kind of nasty. There was a sewage odor coming in the windows from time to time. There was a musty/moldy smell with traces of mold on the bedroom ceilings. The whole property felt cramped and overgrown we needed to duck underneath ferns to come in and out. I would have been more ok if we spent 300-400 a night but it was expensive for what we got. Felt more like a nice camping experience than a luxury price point stay.

Relaxing Stay

Loved the ping pong table, games… had a great fire and enjoyed listening to the rain. We were there for the volcano eruption.. fantastic! Hosts very responsive.
