The first floor is dedicated to fun with a pool table, retro gaming system, wall games, and a toddler playroom (ages 4 & under). Just 5 minutes from Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, 40 minutes from Hilo Airport, and Punaluʻu Black Sand Beach. Unwind, explore, and create lasting memories in this peaceful getaway.

Welcome to "Noho Maluhia" – your serene retreat near Hawaii's Volcanoes National Park! This spacious 5-bedroom, 3-bathroom home is an ideal haven for large groups, school outings, or business retreats.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the entire home except owners' storage closets and a toddler playroom. The toddler playroom is available for groups who have children up to 4 years old. The toddler playroom must be reserved prior to your arrival. There is a driveway to accommodate up to 5 parked vehicles.

The Neighborhood:
Noho Maluhia is located in the Mauna Loa Estates subdivision. This is a quiet neighborhood that is located in the middle of Hawaii's Volcano rainforest. It's common to hear the tree branches rustling, birds chirping, and wildlife in their natural surroundings.

Getting Around:
It would be best to rent a car to get around. The airport is about 40 minutes away from home.

Other Things to Note:
This home sleeps 25 people comfortably. Please inquire with questions and special pricing for groups of 16+. Volcano Hi is located at a higher elevation & it is very uncommon to have air conditioning. There are 3 motion sensored cameras on the exterior of the home for security purposes.

Hosts are fast to respond and we were welcomed with fresh apples, breakfast supplies, yogurts in fridge, a welcome bag and a handwritten welcome in a new notebook! It was such a warm welcome after a long drive from Kona and the property is well maintained with beautiful flowers outside. Check-in and check-out was super easy and my family really enjoyed the games included in the home. There's connect 4 and tic tac toe on the walls and home has 3 floors so it allows some separation for a large group if some want to rest while others eat or do social activities. It gets a bit chilly at night and heated blankets were also provided in the closet. We did see a few bugs in the home but that's hard to avoid in Hawaii. Recommend keeping food packed away to not attract bugs in the kitchen. Great stay, highly recommend. Loved that they had no shoes in the house sign, growing up in an Asian household that's a given and it's nice to stay in a vrbo where previous guests are encouraged not to wear outside shoes all over the house inside.

The pictures are touched up and the house is not as new as the pictures reflected. For example the bedspreads are white online but they are brightened so much you can’t tell they are actually dark grey. Carpet was gross. I’ll post pictures below. The bathrooms are old and dated but those pictures aren’t part of the listing. Also it doesn’t have air conditioning and it had a musty smell when you walk in. I requested to stay one day less since our flight was early in the morning and it’s a 2 hr drive to get there. It was denied because I booked a nonrefundable room. It’s understandable but flexibility would’ve been so appreciated. It was close to the national park which was awesome especially since we desperately wanted to see the eruption in action! That was pretty cool.

This house was such a cute space to stay in! We were here for my sisters wedding and we had 15 people in the house with plenty of space!! The owners are amazing!! Communication was amazing! I wish we could have stayed longer!

Family Vacation

Was very clean and feels secluded from any nearby houses which is great. Owner was very accommodating since we had some last second changes. Had a little trouble with the power going out upstairs when running multiple heaters, the pump for the air mattresses only had an a car power adapter and we had a lot of guests so the hot water ran out on some of us but overall great experience, would recommend for larger groups.
