Quiet Neighborhood Great Location

Our stay at Sarasota was a delight. The house had plenty of room for my family and was very comfortable. The fenced in backyard was great for our dog. There is a big and walking path right next to the neighborhood which we used often. I would highly recommend this this rental.

Perfect for your family getaway!!

I’ve done other short rentals of properties before, but this was the most clean and welcoming property that I’ve visited. You can tell there have been so many updates done to this house and they have been so well done. If you plan to visit this part of Florida I highly recommend this property. Joy was wonderful to work with.

Great Location!

This property is convenient to everything in Sarasota. Two negatives. One is that we didn't have the entire property to ourselves. You are not told this in the listing. Apparently, the host stays in part of the house with a separate entrance and separate backyard. The host has a dog that cried all day one day. I guess because the host wasn't there but the dog could hear us. At first we thought it was next door but then we figured out it was on the other side of one of the interior walls. My daughter was very concerned about the dog. The second negative was we didn't like having to schedule with the host when we used the washer/dryer. If you don't want guests using it, then don't list that you have a washer/dryer.

Property as described

Pros: Property is in a perfect location, central to everything. The pool was clean and goes pretty deep. The lanai was clean and cozy. Lots of towels for all of your water activities. Kitchen had everything that you needed. Cons: Tenant or owner stays on property in mother in law suite, which is the 4th bedroom/third bath in the house that is blocked off. The third bedroom bed is a pull out couch that is so uncomfortable that my father was unable to sleep on it. The TV in the third bedroom didn't work. There is a lock on the AC that will not allow for it to go colder than 72 degrees. Live cockroach found in bathroom, but it is Florida. Second bathroom toilet backed up and needed to be plunged without a large deposit. The door jam seal out to the lanai needs replaced, that could be letting the critters in.

Fabulous Christmas Vacation

This was my first VRBO vacation. I was skeptical, but I have to say it was a wonderful experience. I was able to have my entire family and friends over for Christmas Eve. The house was immaculate, fully stocked and very comfortable for everyone. Will definitely rent this home again.

Outside space sells this place

We came in for a family wedding and used this house as our base. While the inside was sufficient for our needs, the lanai and backyard with pool were the real draw. Comfortable lounging on the lanai and a beautiful clean pool with plenty of outdoor seating. The kitchen was well appointed and easy to keep clean. One suggested improvement: more lamps/lighting in the living room and master bedroom. Thanks Joy!

Ever since I was young, I dreamed of owning a boutique hotel in the Florida Keys. While that’s still on my bucket list, I thought—why not start right here in this little slice of paradise?

I’m originally from South Bend, Indiana, but I’ve called Sarasota home since 1985. After graduating, I moved here and launched a magazine with my then-husband. We raised two wonderful kids, and I’m now a proud grandma to three amazing grandkids.

Life hasn’t always been easy. As a single mom, I juggled my printing company and freelance work, often putting in 50–90 hour weeks to support my family. Like many people, COVID turned my world upside down, forcing me to close my business. But it also gave me the chance to pause, take a breath, and start living for myself again. My daughter and I (my little “mini me”) set off to explore the beauty of the world—and I’ve been chasing sunsets and adventure ever since.

I’m passionate about music, live bands, motorcycle rides, paddleboarding, whitewater rafting, kayaking, hiking, snorkeling, boating, parasailing—you name it. If it involves nature and fresh air, count me in! And I never tire of walking the white sandy shores of Siesta Key, right here in our backyard.
