The house was lovely, the view was incredible, and the privacy was perfect. My friends and I really enjoyed this place for our trip. But what really made it special were the extra touches that were left for us. Sweet Tea, a bucket of treats and a welcome card. We had a lovely time, thank you.

Our group of 3 couples loved everything about Rocky Top. It is by far the best VRBO experience I have ever had! The house was spotless and very well-equipped in every way. The furnishings were top notch and very comfortable. What puts Rocky Top over-the-top, though, were all the extra touches not required but so appreciated: the welcome basket filled with items of local flair, the iced tea in the fridge, the fresh flowers upstairs and down, the cute little Halloween decorations here and there. Brian and Amy really do an outstanding job as hosts! We hope to come back soon!

The property is amazing and the view is stunning. The hosts are very kind and accommodating. Only thing to note if bringing pets there is not a way to fence in your dogs but plenty of space to walk them and explore.

Middle Aged Girls Getaway

Perfect spot for our girls getaway. Concerns / Cautions: The road to it is very, very curvy, so watch for joggers and animals on the dips and curves. The house numbers are too far back. GPS took us pass the house to a driveway with no numbers. Two other friends went to the house next door (we only knew because we saw them through the wooded area). The grass was overgrown near the street and the house numbers blended with the rock pillars. So you really, really have to pay attention. It would be nice if they added large house numbers closer to the street. The drive is gravel at the beginning and doesnt look like the house would be down there but it is. The home sits in the middle of a densely treed area with landscape boulder rocks out front. Pathway is flat rocks. Back grass now has gardens, so not a lot of yard. We had ample parking for 3. Theres a 2 car garage also. We had six people and there were 6 beds of varying sizes (sleeps 10). 3 bedrooms on the main level and 1 huge one downstairs. The huge downstairs also has a sitting area, dining area, and one full bath (2.5 baths on main level). Besides a few cobwebs, the house was clean and stocked with almost anything needed. There's even a grill. I did suggest they add a folding table as there was only room for 6 at the main dining table. There were 2 folding chairs and two bar stools to make it work for 10. The couches and recliner were very comfy. Back deck is great start to the morning, we did yoga out there. 10/10!

The most gorgeous views

We stayed at the house for my son’s graduation for 5 days . It was absolutely one of the best places we have stayed on VRBO . All the rooms were decorated beautifully and the layout was perfect for our family to be together but still have our privacy I would definitely recommend this property.

Serene Setting overlooking the Monteagle Mountains

Such a beautiful, well-maintained home with lovely decorated spaces. The view from the covered back deck was stunning and a cozy/relaxed space to unwind. Very quiet location. Will plan to visit again.

Glorious !

My husband and I recently spent the weekend in Brian’s mountaintop home. It’s not your typical cabin. It has all the most excellent characteristics of a true cabin, while simultaneously offering up the best of suburbia amenities. Well done, to say the least. There are houses nearby, but nothing to lessen the appeal of the absolute peaceful environment. The views of the mountains, amazing sunsets, and starry nights will actually leave you in awe of the world around you. The home itself is a reflection of someone who loves their property, and genuinely wants it to be enjoyed by others. Sparkling clean in every room, including the floors, bedding, rugs, crystal clear picture windows you’ll definitely be staring out of. Everything is in working order, and ready to enjoy. Owner has left unexpected and thoughtful items around the house. For instance , a couple of toothbrushes labeled “In case you forgot.” The bathroom was supplied with fluffy towels, quality toilet paper (this is an appreciative gesture) and face wipes too. It isn’t possible to relay all the wonderful attributes of this property. Perhaps I like to feel less like a stranger, and more “at home” when traveling. That’s exactly how I felt. You will see many deer all along the roads leading to the home, so drive slowly in anticipation. It’s every bit as awesome as I have described it to you. The owner is approachable and ready to help if needed. We visit Sewanee often, as our daughter attends The University of the South. YSR!

Great Gathering Spot

Our group of old friends stayed here for the weekend, and we really enjoyed our time in this beautiful home. The owners sent helpful and specific info on the home and area. Every part of the property was cared for and the house was clean and comfortable. We had planned to hike on Saturday but it rained the whole day, so we stayed in and played games by the cozy fire, and felt completely at home. The rooms are spacious and we all had enough privacy, but we really enjoyed hanging out together in the family room and the sitting room with wonderful mountain views. We will rent here again, and hope to have better weather to enjoy the decks and the amazing views! Bonus - we could charge our car in the garage. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

90th Birthday Weekend

Beautiful property out on the bluff between Sewanee and Monteagle. Our hosts were very responsive and super accommodating. The house was perfect for our group of 7, including two 90-year olds! One of our seniors has mobility issues and this was a good fit for him. The view can't be beat. We'd definitely stay here again. Thanks, Brian!

Great getaway

Beautiful home, great sunrises, plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. Beautiful area, lots of hiking, University Campus was delightful. It was a wonderful place for the entire family to be. Easy commute from Nashville & Chattanooga. Loved the app the owners put together, we were able to get around & had great info. Easy to refer back to. Owners were very responsive when needed.

Great property

This is a beautiful house and surroundings. Great views of the mountains from most rooms/areas of the house. Communication with the owner was excellent. Small details, such as spare toothbrushes and razors were provided, along with a nice welcome basket. There is a large 2 car garage for parking. We plan to return in the future. I highly recommend.

Perfect Mountain Escape

Wow! Gorgeous views from beautiful and spacious mountain home. We spent long girls weekend with my cousins celebrating my Mom’s 80th birthday. It was absolutely perfect setting to watch football, enjoy the breath taking views, play games and relax. The owners hospitality was the best I have experienced
 from a thoughtful note & gift basket, quick responses to questions and accommodating us for earlier check-in.. all the details were taken care of. They even provided a very helpful app with all the info needed for our stay. The rental had everything we needed for the perfect weekend.. comfy beds, plenty of room with different spaces inside&out for everyone to enjoy. We also enjoyed shopping and a few of meals at restaurants in nearby Sewanee/Monteagle. We will definitely stay here again! Definitely would rate a 10+!

Relaxing Family Getaway

This was the perfect place for us to spend the long weekend with our adult children. The open living areas and porches were great when we all wanted to be together but there were also plenty of spaces for quiet rest even for a 6mth old granddaughter.
