The Bright House is a newly constructed house in the Sewanee Village District.

An easy walk to the center of the University of the South's campus and downtown Sewanee, this newly constructed cottage (2023) has two queen bedrooms with smart-TVs, 1.5 baths, a fully equipped kitchen and a covered porch with gas grill. A comfortable open floor plan includes a smart-TV in the living room and counter seating for four. There is off-street parking for two vehicles, a washer/dryer, and fast, one gigabit wireless internet.

We had such a great stay! David was super responsive and accommodating. House was clean and well equipped. We had everything we needed. Super convenient to campus. Plenty of space for our needs. A great place to grill and eat outside. Would love to stay here again!

Our stay at the Bright House in the Sewanee Village District was absolutely wonderful! The home is beautifully designed—bright, modern, and thoughtfully decorated—while still feeling cozy and inviting. Every detail was taken care of, from comfortable furnishings to a well-stocked kitchen, which made it feel like a true home away from home.The location couldn’t be better. Being right in the Village District meant we could easily walk to restaurants, shops, and the University campus. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy everything Sewanee has to offer while still having a peaceful retreat to return to.Communication with the host was excellent—friendly, responsive, and accommodating. They clearly put a lot of care into making sure guests have a memorable stay.If you’re visiting Sewanee, I can’t recommend the Bright House enough. It’s a gem, and we’ll definitely be staying here again!

Wonderful second stay

I would stay at this property anytime I come to Sewanee. It is a beautiful home, clean, well-appointed, with anything you might need. I particularly love the back deck and yard. Plus, you can truly walk to campus or to town. I'll be back!

Wonderful place to stay in Sewanee

We were here for our daughter’s Senior day and absolutely loved the location and the house. It was incredibly clean, the beds were comfy and the kitchen is really well stocked. We enjoyed the covered deck in the back a lot as well. Great option for parents visiting their kids!

Great new property was perfect for our small group (3) and super convenient to see our son, who is a Sewanee student. Walkable to campus, clean house, responsive and friendly property manager and all the amenities.

Perfect Mountain Cottage

The Bright House is perfect. It had everything I could possibly need, and all the touches of home. And that's just inside. I saw birds, rabbits and deer, just stepping out onto the back deck. For the Sewanee baseball fans, this cottage is exactly 1 mile from the baseball field.

Opening weekend for Sewanee Baseball

My family stayed here for opening weekend for Sewanee baseball. It is a great location on campus. You can literally walk to everywhere!

Top marks for our college visit

Wife and I traveled with our high schooler to visit Sewanee for a weekend. Can't imagine a better place to stay. Cozy, clean and in close proximity to the campus. Tastefully decorated, well equipped, this place is a little gem. Highly recommend if you're visiting the area.

Great stay in Sewanee

David’s tiny house was just perfect for my stay on the mountain. My family unfortunately could not make the trip, but if they had, we would have had plenty of space for all four of us. The house has great amenities and is super comfortable, all very close to downtown Sewanee and central campus.

Perfect stay

My son and I stayed here for a Sewanee visit. It was perfect. It was a great location, very comfortable, well-stocked, and incredibly clean. If you like birds, the back deck was a wonderful place to observe - 20+ varieties in the first 10 minutes of having my morning coffee. Highly recommend.

Great property

Brighthouse was great. It fit our family of 4 perfectly. The house felt new and was in immaculate condition. The amenities were just right- new appliances, good for cooking dinners, quiet dishwasher, coffee brewing. The living area was a little small but the open plan worked for us and the outdoor dining area was a perfect size for us, we got lucky with beautiful weather.. The location on campus within a short walking distance to our son’s dorm Cleveland). We will definitely stay there again.

adorable well appointed house

This house is a perfect little bungalow for a mountain get away. It is walking distance to Sewanee's campus as well as restaurants like Blue Chair and Lunch. The construction is new so everything is very clean and pristine. The sofas and beds are comfortable. And, the layout is very cleaver... it feels much bigger than the square footage indicates. We would definitely rent there again. Our host was super nice and helpful as well.

Beautiful Bright House!

My daughter & I had a nice short weekend stay at The Bright House for Sewanee move-in. The house appears to be brand new
you can even smell the new wood! The location is super close to campus. House is very clean. Kitchen is outfitted with everything you could need including spices & oil! I enjoyed spending time on the secluded back porch. Communication with owner was perfect. I will definitely look at renting again when back in the area.
