Welcome to Sunset on The Way! Fully renovated, this stylishly decorated and beautifully furnished waterfront home sits on a quiet, dead-end street on idyllic Candlewood Lake, just 60 miles outside of Manhattan.

Views abound from every corner of the bright and airy main level. Here you will find an updated, well-stocked kitchen that opens to the dining area with seating for 6, and comfortable living room complete with sofa, armchairs and flat screen TV. Step outside onto the wraparound deck, where you’ll enjoy stunning scenery over the lake while you sip your morning coffee or evening cocktail. Enjoy the lake by boat from our private dock, or just relax and enjoy the spectacular sunsets over the lake from the waterfront seating area.

Two bedrooms, each with a king bed comfortably sleep 4 adults. The downstairs bedroom has a cozy sitting area with sleeper sofa (accommodating an additional 2 children), flat screen TV and sliders to the private stone patio overlooking the lake. The upstairs bedroom features a lovely bay window and its own flat screen TV. Each bedroom has an adjacent tile bath fully stocked with towels and toiletries.

If you feel like venturing out, the house is located close to restaurants, breweries, grocery and specialty stores, flea markets, antiques shops, golf courses, museums and ski areas. Nature enthusiasts will find miles of hiking and biking trails nearby. Come see for yourself why so many return to Candlewood Lake season after season!

Only hypo-allergenic dogs will be considered on a case by case basis and must be approved PRIOR to booking. For the comfort of all of our guests, pets are not allowed on furniture, pillows or beds under any circumstances and must be curbed at all times. Failure to comply will incur forfeiture of damage deposit in the amount required to remove waste, and deep clean furniture, carpets and bedding. Thank you for your cooperation.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Sunset on The Way. We apologize for the miscommunication regarding the dock and waterfront area. When the house was first listed, the waterfront was under construction and unsafe for guest use. Somehow, that information was mistakenly left in the guest book after the waterfront was renovated at the end of last season. When we were made aware of the mistake (almost immediately upon check in), we clearly communicated via text that the information was left in the book in error and you could indeed swim and boat off the dock. We apologize if that communication was somehow lost or misconstrued. Best wishes.

Fantastic Lake House

The lake is clear and warm in the summer. Plenty of shoreline for kayaks and some small islands nearby. The house is exactly as pictured, with unimpeded views of the lake. Plenty to see and do in the area. Host communication was excellent. We would visit again.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The lake view was both amazing and incredibly peaceful, offering a perfect retreat from everyday life. Beautiful Views

This is one of our favorite properties. The house situated perfectly to allow the parents to walk straight in with only a few steps, which is rare in this area, and also perfectly equipped with pretty much everything you would need. The views are amazing at all times of the day. The host are very responsive to questions (should you have any). We will definitely be back.

Perfect Lakefront Getaway!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this lakefront property! The outdoor gathering spots are plentiful and perfect for family and friends to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Whether it was morning coffee on one of the many decks, or simply lounging in the sun, every moment was magical. The kitchen was incredibly well-stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals, which made our stay even more convenient and enjoyable. The entire place was spotless, and it was clear that a lot of care goes into maintaining the property. Overall, this is a gem of a place, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable lakefront retreat!

Excellent West Lake View-Candlewood

We will be coming back to this property again the next time we come out east to watch hockey. Quiet neighborhood with excellent west view overlooking the lake when the sun sets. The property was very clean it with all items in working order. The manager was excellent in the communication process also. Looking forward for another visit to this well maintained property. Great property for relaxing

stayed here for a week with my wife. plenty of places to relax, dock for swimming (or rafting/floating) close to restaurants and grocery stores. the lake can be a bit busy with boats, more so than i expected so the water can be a bit choppy at times. otherwise the physical location can’t be beat. the house itself was fantastic very clean well stocked, plenty of places to sit and relax. the questions we had were promptly answered by the property manager Lisa. definitely would recommend for adults or older kids; it’s a lot of steps down to the dock but luckily plenty of places to catch your breath if needed on the way back up.

Small Family Graduation Celebration

The house was very clean and stocked with all the necessities, such as paper towels, napkins, detergents for sink, dishwasher, washing machine, shampoo conditioner and hand soap. Lovely house with upgraded design. Beds were very comfortable. Did not get to use outside due to rain and colder climate but the view was great from inside.Only have 2 concerns: the last step going downstairs. It needs a minor repair in the crack on the overhang part of the step. Also, kitchen has a crack in the laminate flooring that causes a slight scuff on the foot when walking from the kitchen to dining table.Other than that, it would rate 5.

Christmas in Connecticut

We had a wonderful 5 day stay with our adult boys, a chance to visit with family who lived locally! This house offers stunning lake views from sliding doors all along the living room/kitchen area, beautiful sunrises and sunsets! The house location is in a very quiet neighborhood but convenient to stores/restaurants! A lovely deck with year round furniture, even in frigid temperatures we enjoyed time around the fire pit! Thank you Lisa, property manager, for setting up a beautiful Christmas tree, it was the perfect touch for our holiday trip! We had a weather related hiccup on Christmas Eve, property manager worked very closely with us to handle the issue! House is on the smaller side, no more than 6 people; more suited for couples or families with older children, great parking area. Highly recommend this property, will definitely consider staying here in the future!
