Beautiful home. The radiator was not working in one of the rooms so had to borrow a space heater but overall a nice place to stay.

We absolutely loved this place! It’s a beautiful piece of history full of charm and character. Everything was spotless, the layout was fantastic, and the location was perfect...close to so much of what Omaha has to offer. The host was incredibly accommodating and responded quickly to all messages. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

David, our host, was quick to respond to questions prior to our visit and I’m sure would have been easy to contact if we needed. The house was in a nice area and within 10 minutes of Old Market, restaurants, The River Front and Museums.The house was well equipped, clean, comfortable and overall looked much as expected. I would say the furniture was a little more tired looking in person, but was not uncomfortable. One improvement might be to put some nice seating in the sun room area rather than the desk and chairs that are a little out of place in that space.

We were in town for a wedding and the whole family was able to stay in this lovely home. The house was wonderful with plenty of room, and a beautiful, well stocked kitchen. We had a great time!

What a wonderful home. Nicely updated and exceptionally clean. Very comfortable. A very well stocked kitchen and plenty of linens. Just a couple of observations: a blender would be a nice addition, also, the refrigerator doesn't have a freezer. We didn't discover the freezer for 2 days...tucked in a corner of the basement. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful time in Omaha

The code for the key box didn’t work, however David made quick arrangements to get us access to the house and everything went perfectly after that. Everything was as advertised and this home worked perfectly for our 3 night stay. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone planning to visit the Omaha area.

Best Christmas Ever

The house was perfect! We have a large family of adult children and chose to meet in Omaha for Christmas. The owner, David was very helpful and provided the perfect holiday touches. Christened decorations, including a Christmas tree and Christmas china, made our holiday feel like we were home and not in a rental. The kitchen was the perfect set up to cook for our family and extended family that joined us for a meal or two. We will look for this home the next time we gather in Omaha!

Clean and comfortable

The home is just as pictured and one of the cleanest I’ve stayed in. The kitchen is well stocked with two sets of dishes, lots of cooking utensils, pans etc. Though we did not use them, there were many basic ingredients stocked as well. And my in-laws greatly enjoyed the Viking stove. It was in the high 80’s or 90’s most days during our stay and a/c worked very well for us, each room has an in wall unit with a remote for temp and fan speed. David was quick to respond to my messages - less than an hour and usually within 20 min. We had an issue with the 2 floor sink and he sent service the next day to fix it. The sun room quickly became a favorite spot for reading and card games. We also enjoyed walking the area. Highlights were the beautiful old homes, the cathedral, Joselyn castle, Lisa’s Radial Cafe and the bakery next door for breakfast. There is a small grassy back yard with a picnic table. Suggestions: put in a key pad on the back door rather than using the box for the physical key, change one of the twin bedrooms on the 2nd floor to a queen.

A wonderful stay

This is a terrific place to stay. Located in the Gold Coast area of Omaha, it is a short walk to the Blackstone area with it's dining and nightlife options. The host was easy to deal with and a great communicator. We may very well stay here again in the future.

Three generation weekend

This home was just right in every way. There were spaces to all be together comfortably and numerous private spaces for just unwinding. The well-stocked kitchen includes basic condiments and spices. Convenient parking and very friendly host. Thanks.

Perfect Long Weekend Getaway

The house was beautiful and spacious enough to allow for two adults and three teenagers to spread out when needed, but also spend time together in the living space. I have spent over 23 years in communications and fintech and left the corporate world in October of 2022 to pursue new goals and dreams. My parents were in real estate and the hotel business when I was a young boy and I have decided to get back to my family roots and venture into the hospitality business. Omaha is where it starts but the plans are to grow and reach new people, places and homes that will delight and provide wonderful experiences.

I am drawn to historical areas and properties... its easy to build from scratch and in the suburbs but that is not my desire or passion. I enjoy working with historical properties to bring them back to life, or to provide the ability for others to experience their charm and quirkiness... they all talk and they all have something wonderful to say or tell us about our pasts. The Colonial A Historic Home is no different. It was built in the early 1900's by the now famous architects The McDonalds. A father son team, who built many Omaha mansions, famous downtown buildings as well as the famous Joslyn Museum.

The Colonial A Historic Home, is conveniently located to all Omaha burrows; Gold Coast, Blackstone, Mid Town, Down Town, Old Market, Dundee and Benson... all of these places are either a 12 minute Uber or Lyft or less ride and some like Gold Coast and Blackstone are walking distance. You have easy access to all interstates and beltways to reach any area you so desire. Along with location, you have an updated home with a beautiful kitchen and updated bathrooms to enjoy while sharing memories with your family.
