We have been contemplating a change for the stairs, but carpet is by far the best choice when it comes to winter time in Ruidoso. Unfortunately the nature of tracking snow in definitely takes a toll on the look, but the safety of having a durable non-slip surface on the most used stairs in the condo feels like a good long term decision for us and guests.

This tenant reached out to us and said she was unhappy that the listing shows an AC, which it has on the upper floor. Our other two floors are partially built into the hill and stay cooler than the upstairs. The temp was near 89 for this stat and the max we usually see in Ruidoso is 90 and that’s during 4th of July. Unfortunately I was not going to install a AC unit for this tenant, but we did discuss exhaustively about the issue and I was sad that she felt her stay did not meet her expectations. In the evenings the outside temperature reaches down into the 60’s and having the windows open can cool the living floor to the outdoor temps easily. Please keep in mind that if your preference is to have the temperature in the house at 65 during the day then our unit may not be for you. We have personally stayed during the hottest days and never had any issue with the temperature, but our temperature tolerance may be different than other people.

We are so glad that your trip was successful and that Ruidoso provided a great spot to be inspired and productive. Thank you so much for the communication and being patient. We hope you will come back and stay with us and put another 200-300 pages in the book. We can’t wait to see the work y’all put in make it into circulation.

Thanks for staying with us. We appreciate the review and your feedback. Unfortunately we had an issue with the lower shower that couldn’t be fixed in time for this stay. We will be renovating the middle bathroom to provide two full showers in April, which will provide a much better setup for future stays. We do have a wonderful custom spiral staircase that leads to the game room and have never had any issues (I’m a big guy) with feeling unsafe when going up/down. I’m sorry that you felt uneasy using it. We have loved that unique feature of this condo, but it’s definitely not a traditional feel for a staircase. We hope you enjoyed your time in the mountains and were able to enjoy the beautiful city and the opportunities that the mountain offered.
