With sunlit, open spaces for a family or two to enjoy together, this beautiful, two-story home is a wonderful way to experience all that Franklin and the surrounding Nantahala National Forest have to offer! You'll be just three miles from Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts and Rose Creek Mine, great for some family fun.

Offering two full kitchens with stainless steel appliances, gas grills, outdoor seating areas, fireplaces, and comfortable living spaces with exposed beam ceilings, this home has it all. Prepare your favorite recipes in the well-equipped kitchens, dine together (or separately) indoors or out, and then kick back and channel surf in each living space - just don't forget the popcorn.

Additional amenities and features include a selection of board games, central air-conditioning, and a washer/dryer on the lower level to let you pack light and stay on top of your laundry during your visit.

The welcome basket was a nice and welcome touch. The home was nice and updated. It was perfect for what we needed for a Christmas stay for our visiting children. Amenities were good. However, upstairs dishwasher smelled bad and we washed the dishes by hand.

Nice house nestled in the woods.

Location for us was perfect, close to town and seculded. I never could get the basement lights to work but we didn't need the basement area. Other lights were quite funky and took time to figure out what switch did what. Kitchen ware was good but the knives were very dull. Loved the rustic atmosphere with the half circle roof. We would like to return next year.

Private wooded retreat

The home was clean and welcoming. Located on a dirt, one-lane road, the home is within a five minute drive of shopping and major highway. Our dog was comfortable with the home, attesting to the nice cleaning.

Pet Friendly, and quiet

A great location, near both old and new Franklin, NC. A few minor cleaning issues were quickly resolved. There were two black widow spiders at the front door! Glad to find a pet-friendly listing so near to when we needed housing in the area.

Thank you for your review and we deeply apologize for the unwanted critters you experienced during your stay. Our local staff did offer to professionally treat the home and when not able, attempted to provide many other avenues to rid the home from pests. We regret that these measures were not effective and that this detracted from your vacation experience. Our home has since been treated professionally by pest services. We do hope we will have another chance to better serve you in the future.

Franklin vacation

The home was spacious. And fairly secluded. The decor was eclectic. We stsyed upstairs. 2 complaints, the ice maker in the fridge was not connected, and the plastic tablecloth on the dining table was filthy, not cleaned. Also no place in the shower to put soap or shampoo.

Not clean and smelled like urine.

I was very excited to get to my Vrbo until we got to the house. It was an instant animal urine and feces smell. The house looked like no one had been there for a long time. The patio furniture was not setup for us to use on the back porch. I made a comment about the cleanliness and they told me my first night someone would come out the following day and they never did. Overall I was very disappointed.

Lovely, spacious home, perfect for the entire family!

This home was everything we needed for our family of 6 people and 3 doggies! It was very spacious with an open floor plan on both the top floor and the bottom floor… both floors has a large master bedroom with a king size bed, a full size kitchen, and large living room. This house is so large, that it would be easy to house more than the occupancy of eight guests that the listing shows (with a few air mattresses)! There was extra bedding and pillows in the closets. The house is secluded in the woods on a private lot which made it very nice to walk the dogs. There are other houses around but you can’t see them and are not close by. We enjoyed seeing deer in the yard and and the feeling of having our own private property. The house is located within a very short, 4-minute drive of Walmart, Chick-fil-A, and Aldi, and 15 minutes from downtown Franklin.

House was a disaster and totally failed customer service

On arrival (5:30pm) the house was a complete disaster - it was very upsetting! The previous renters left a mess behind (pictures available). Clearly, they smoked in the house (odor) - therefore left windows and doors open (safety concern). The bathrooms/ toilets were disgusting. Some of the bedsheets (including the comforters) were tossed in the shower. A pile of dirty personal clothes was left behind next as well as dirty dishes in the kitchen and trash piles downstairs. And so on… After contacting VACASA immediately we were informed that local management would be contacted and we would get called back within probably 30 min. Since we did not hear anything after 45 min we called VACASA again and were basically told that there is no time to resolution. We explained to that person that we would then have to rent another place to stay and requested a full refund for not being able to stay at the originally rented house. We were told that he would forward the request and we would get contacted. We NEVER got a phone call from the local VACASA management about the status of the house during our 4 day stay in Franklin, NC. Multiple attempts were made from us to contact VACASA/VRBO and get the case resolved. I feel very sorry for the home owners for having such disrespectful renters in their house. We still are very unhappy with the way this was handled by VACASA. We had to find another accommodation. As of today we have only received a refund for the cleaning fee - ridiculous.
