It was peaceful. The steps were an issue just because we are older individuals. The hot tub was the biggest disappointment. The cover is literally disintegrating into the tub. All kinds of trash was in the hot tub from the cover.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay. We only stayed for the weekend but had everything we needed. We loved the fact that once we got there we were away from everyday life. Great view, comfy beds, and enjoyed wonderful dinners. We would definitely stay here again. Owners have GREAT communication. Big plus.

July 4 week

The house was great for our family. We had adults and our adult children. The host/owner communicated with us before and after. What a wonderful place. I highly recommend this place.

A little bit of heaven

We were doing a short get away with family. We fell in love with the place. Very comfy cozy, with space too! The view of lake from the front porch amazing. Place to spend with your family priceless.

Dale Hollow Golf and relaxation

Cozy spot. Saw a double rainbow over the bay in the valley. Dale Hollow Golf Course was very nice. Hot tub was great our round. Thank you to the Barrys.

The house provided a very comfortable stay. The ladies in the family did not like the drive into/out of the property, though I didn't mind and I did the driving. On the first evening our son's dog had an encounter with a skunk, that required a series of cleanings. Two evenings we were trapped in the house as two skunks spent considerable time checking everything out, though we did not eat any meals outside, nor cook outside, but what can you expect when you are staying in the woods. My wife and I spent considerable time sitting outside, and should have sprayed bug killer, as we are still recovering from many chigger bits. Overall, the property was comfortable for our extended family of 12.

We love Dale Hollow but you really need a 4-wheel drive to get down and up the gravel path to this property. I wouldn't even attempt it with that if it rains. It took my son five tries to get to the top where the house. We brought meat to grill but the grill was not usable. We ended up going to Dollar General for nonstick pans, paper towels and toilet paper which there was very little of at the house. There were several things that just didn't work for us. With all the great reviews I expected more attention to detail. I think all and all it could be a really nice place. It has a great view. It needs some reworking of the driveway and fixing up inside the house.

--There are no perfect rentals, no perfect hosts, no perfect guests. We appreciate guests and our goal is to make it a great stay. We could pick guests apart on most stays, and don't, unless it's egregious. --We caught them in at least two lies (VRBO advised using this word), proved it with pics, reported everything to VRBO. --The drive in DOES NOT require a 4 wheel drive. Guests make it with 2 wheel drive. Our cleaning crew drives 2 wheel drive. --They lied about the grill. VRBO got pics it worked. Guests said grill did not work. I asked for pics, live an hour away, before I drive that distance. No pics sent I would have wasted my time. My message: “Thanks for reaching out. Seeking some clarification and maybe a further description on what the grill flames are doing ? How many are lighting ? How much is lighting ? Thanks. Would you please send pic ?” No pics. No other guests complained about grill. --3-4 years renting on VRBO, etc., never these complaints: We provide ample pots-pans. Not our issue if not to guests liking. We provide ample toilet paper, not endless supply. Run out, it's logical to buy more. We stopped paper towels, b/c of waste, price, environment. We provide ample hand towels for kitchen. Washer-dryer to launder them. Fact: we provide more than most rentals. --Many today complain incessantly and lie. It's an awesome, great, private getaway in woods, lake overlook. Come see yourself, not some guest with axe to grind
