Enjoy your stay at this newly renovated Duplex (Entire First Floor), located in one of the most quiet and peaceful neighborhoods on HHI. 2 minute walk to the Beach! When your not soaking up the sun on the beach, relax in the open concept home with custom coastal finishes. Every room is equipped with a large smart TV and 1gig internet speeds. Spacious backyard with a privacy fence, grill, and outdoor furniture. Pets welcome!

Open concept living areas. Perfect for a family or two couples. We have a comfortable cot available for a 5th guest upon request. Big smart TV in every room and very fast internet speeds. Screened in porch and private backyard to enjoy the coastal air.

Custom sleeping options upon request (no additional charge):
-2nd Bedroom with twins can be converted to one king sized bed.

Nice weekend away

Enjoyed our weekend away, especially the ability to travel with our dogs. Great location and nice dog friendly rental with everything we needed. Wonderful host as well.

Place is perfect

Loved being super close to the beach. The kitchen was perfect and the bed was comfy. Loved the beach amenities the place provided and my dog and I enjoyed the back yard. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful place and location to beach

We were very pleased with the space and cleanliness of the place. The renter was easily available with questions. Short walk to the beach and neighborhood was nicely kept. Will 100% stay here again.

My wife, dog, and I stayed here for 5 nights and it was awesome. Amazing location, super clean, very comfortable. The communication with Robert was top notch, we really enjoyed our stay. If we return to HHI, we’ll definitely be booking here again.

Family Spring Break

Wonderful quaint beach house perfect for our family. Clean, updated and short walk to the beach. All of the house and beach amenities were provided and communication with the owner was great. Highly recommend booking!

Pleasant stay

Fenced in back yard and short walk to the beach were a plus in accommodating our dogs. The rental was clean, updated, and had everything we needed. Beautiful neighborhood. We would return for another visit.

Ideal location. Cute neighborhood to walk, jog, bike. Beach is super close. You can hear the waves-loved waking up to catch sunrise. Beds sleep great. Kitchen is stocked and loved the screened porch-you can hear the waves on the screened porch.

Cute and Close to the Beach

The cottage is cute and a short walk to the beach - we took our dog to watch the sunrise every day! Robert is a very responsive host. The fenced yard is a great feature - note photos of low fence at front of cottage if your dog is a jumper. Great for a couple getaway!

Fantastic stay! Amazing host!

Great stay with our college daughter and dog. Host thought of everything - wagon, beach cabana, beach chairs, frisbee, and a fully stocked kitchen. The fenced yard was great for our dog, and we enjoyed the fire pit on cool evenings. The cottage is a super short walk to the beach and one block down is the Burkes Beach access that has a bathroom and dog wash/shower stations. Great area. You can rent the up or downstairs (each is its own unit) or the whole house together. We will definitely be back. Host was fantastic at answering questions and communicating.

My two sons and I escaped for a quick beach getaway. The property was fabulous. The location was perfect. Great beach access. Very quiet neighborhood. Super area. I loved how I could hear the waves crashing at high tide! We loved every minute.

Great beach location!

Rob was a great communicator and the place was exactly as advertised. Although it was small, it was clean and had everything we needed. The yard was so nice for the pups, and he had a wonderful beach wagon ready to take down. Access to the beach is smooth and easy. The only reason for a 4-star rating is that Hilton Head Island was pretty cold when we stayed and we couldn't access a good heat source. The shower also was lukewarm instead of hot, which added to us being pretty chilly. Both of these are most likely not problems for 95% of the year in Hilton Head Island!

Thanks for the honest review Laura. Wish you had warmer weather during your stay. To address the heating I am curious how you had trouble getting it warm. I have a new Mitsubishi split system in that unit which is designed to cover twice the square footage. I will be sure to check to make sure it is operating properly but it could have been just a matter of using the remote settings. In regard to the water temp, South Carolina has a max tank size that could the hot water to run out if I was to use one tank for the upper and lower unit. I instead opted to install two but they are connected to increase the capacity. The tradeoff is that it can take a minute or two for the water to get hot but should stay hot for as long as needed.

Needs updates and clearer description

We are locals and needed a place to stay for a couple of nights due to construction work. This listing came up when searching for single family homes to rent and we loved that it was at our favorite beach. The description mentions that this listing is only one level but that was not clear in the photos or search terms. We did not end up staying at this rental because it was unsatisfactory upon our arrival to check in. The rental is only the bottom rooms of the house and the top was occupied when we went to check in. You cannot only hear movement upstairs but voices as well. The yard is shared with the other tenants which again, was not clear and would not have worked with our two dogs. The space was recently cleaned and aspects like the kitchen are cute. The screen door is busted and the furniture in the living room is pilling which on top of the tiny living area was unpleasant.We purchased cancellation insurance via VRBO at the time of booking which did not actually offer any assistance or reimbursement upon cancellation. The host was friendly and communicated well before the stay, but again referred to the listing as the house number and “entrance under the stairs” rather than clarifying that it was unit A or B. This is not a proper duplex but a single very small cottage split into two levels with very little privacy. We would not recommend any friends or family visiting ever stay here.

In the first sentence of the listing description it says it’s a duplex and that this listing is for the entire first floor. Im not sure why you would assume there wasn’t another floor/unit given the description and the pictures of the entire house showing two floors and a sign off a 2nd unit. The backyard is not shared, it was for the unit you booked alone. Guests upstairs do not have access to it and it’s clear in that listing. I let guests upstairs use it only if the bottom floor is vacant. You asked to cancel after the check in time stating insurance you purchased it with an outside provider. You need to contact that provider for a refund as hosts are not aloud to offer trip insurance directly.
