Weekend Stay With Family

My family and I stayed here for a weekend and we were very happy with the property. There was plenty of space for us and there was even a nice card table. It's a great location as well. We would definitely stay here again.

Home was in a quiet neighborhood. Home was also clean and easy to find. Downtown was roughly a 20 minute drive. Communication with the property owner was excellent. That we appreciated. Very good stay! Two thumbs up!!

Family vacation

We planned a surprise birthday party for our son and this property was less than 2 miles from his house so it worked out great. It does have military planes constantly flying over during the week, but it's nice and quiet on the weekend. Would book it again when we need it.

Cozy

House was the perfect size for our family. The kitchen was lacking a little. No sink stopper, silverware was not ideal and cooking utensils were flimsy. Beds were SUPER comfortable and the bedding was so soft. Water got extremely hot and I would absolutely recommend adjusting the hot water heater. Overall great stay!

Nice quiet house

We stayed for 5 days and didn’t want to leave. The neighborhood is quiet. The house is as pictured on Vrbo. Beds are comfortable and pillows nice. The kitchen has the essentials for cooking and a good stove and refrigerator. I liked to spend time on the patio in the backyard in the evening. Alan and Jennifer are great hosts.

Could not get in the door. Code provided was only for the security alarm, not the for the front door lock. Neither VRBO nor I could reach owner/property manager for help. VRBO cancelled our booking, but we were stuck looking for a hotel room ourselves at 10:00 pm on a Saturday night. Whole experience was negative.

The house advertised hot tub and there was no hot tub. We got there 15 min early and couldnt get in. The shower in master bedroom flooded every time you took shower. No remote for tv in little bedroom The fan is stuck on high in master bedroom Light didnt work in middle bedroom cute house

Lack of Response

We had no hot water and no response from the host for 15 hours. We had to call 911 due to gas in the house. The host did not respond to app messaging, texting, calling or VRBO associate communication attempts. My messages were obviously frantic due to situation. When host did finally contact me, the host questioned whether I even called 911 and had the verify it with the fire department before even attempting to solving the no hot water situation. Due to the delay in communication, we had to prepare for a family wedding with cold showers. Every communication I received from the host was short and included curt comment that I found disrespectful. The house was nice but need some attention to the outside. The issues are with the host.

Outdated home w/strange smells

The house is overall outdated. The beds are very uncomfortable and the showers are small. The overall house had a strange smell from the moment we got there. After leaving and coming back a few hours later a strange egg/vomit smell was in the hallway between the bathroom and bedrooms. Overall circulation of the air conditioning in the house is not very good. We also had to call the host as we did not receive the access code for the front door. Host was quick to respond. Would not stay here again.

Either way, we have not had reviews like this (before or after your stay) and the house is professionally deep cleaned after every guest. Our Family Reunion Trip

We had a wonderful stay at your home and appreciate you opening it up to us. We were in town for a family reunion in nearby Marion. Your home was a perfect spot for us to stay at. There were many things to do nearby and lots of great restaurants to choose from. Our family really liked that the Comic Book store was so close. I think we spent a little more than we expected there but enjoyed it greatly. You home had a great little game room setup and my daughter really liked the dart board. Having a washer and dryer also helped us out greatly. The beds were very comfortable and rooms very tidy and clean. Thank you for having a fan accessible also for us to use. The background noise helps us go to sleep quicker and keeps us asleep longer. The neighborhood was very quite and quant at all hours of the day that we were present. The neighbors were also very nice and greeted us when they saw us at the property. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We look forward to returning sometime in the future.

It was a nice house, but just a few things that fell a bit short. There was a Keurig, but no coffee pods. The dishes and pots were dirty, and the pots and flatware looked like kids toys, no towels to wash or dry dishes in the kitchen, no stopper in the sink to wash the dishes. Said there was a dishwasher, but there is not. Expected us to take the garbage/recycling out to the street for pick up on certin days. Warm in the master room, no air vent in there, took forever to get hot water in the shower. It met our needs for our family, we were going to Randalph Airbase so it was convient.

Thanks for all the comments. Our listing information is updated. There are always 4 extra towels in each linen closet for a total of 8 Towels. We do ask for trash to be brought to the curb only on trash days to keep the home sanitary/clean. The AC had a tune up this summer and is running great. On June 13th 2024 the outside air temp in SA was 104 Degrees and "heat wave." Either way, glad to have you and just give us a heads up before your next stay! - Alan

Cute little rental, a little too hot for me.

The house was just like the pictures. Very close to a lot of restaurants. Only issue I had was the master bedroom was hotter than the rest of the house. Think it was the layout of the only vent in the room. It didn't help that that room had a large window either. They provided a stand up fan along with the ceiling fan, but you could tell the temperature difference when you walked in from the rest of the house. The bathroom in that room doesn't have a vent in it and when you close the door it gets really hot in there. The way the bathroom in the master is laid out is a little awkward. You can't be at the sink with the door open because it will hit you. I don't think the horribly hot weather in Texas helped either. If temperature doesn't bother you this is the perfect place for you. Other than that out stay was great.
