Enjoy what has been called a million dollar view of Lake Erie . The entire cottage is on Lake Erie. Besides the Weeping Willow tree and an occasional eagle or crane, the passing boats are stunning!!

We had a wonderful relaxing time at the cottage. Everything was as photographed and was very clean. The host was always very responsive and gave us great local recomendations. We especially appreciated the complimentary firewood, as its been snowing and we've enjoyed the fires. Its a simple place but perfect for our needs. Ps. The beach below is breathtaking when you get down there.

Amazing property!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in July 2025. Lydia’s cottage was the perfect place to relax and reconnect with our extended family in Cleveland. The view of Lake Erie is fabulous. Lydia went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed. We plan to book again next summer!

Great getaway spot!

The house is easy to find, has a gorgeous view and includes everything you need for a great getaway. I took my Mom for her 79th birthday and we explored the town and the Arboretum (note - $20 per person) and hung out at the house to watch the sunsets.

Great place and even better view

We really enjoyed our time at Lydia's cottage. The view of the lake from the back yard was great. Inside, the cottage was very clean and nicely decorated. It was also great to meet Lydia while we were there. We will be back again next year.

The perfect stay in a surprising location

Our stay at the cottage was absolutely wonderful! We fell in love with the area. Our week at the cottage was perfect in every way. Lydia was very attentive to our needs while respecting our privacy, which we appreciated. I cannot say enough good things about the place. I will definitely stay there again and again.

Family visit

After a long day of travel, we opened the front door to see the incredible view of the lake. The house is very cozy and comfortable. It was very clean and had all the basics for your stay. It is a perfect spot for a couple. Lydia is an excellent host. We can’t wait to visit again

Beautiful Escape!

This was our second time staying at this property! We absolutely love it here! The entire place is so clean and well stocked. It has plenty of items, but there are stores nearby if you forgot to bring the marshmallows. The check in instructions are emailed ahead of time and entering the cottage is very simple. We have celebrated two birthdays and I even got engaged here, so it has a special place in my heart. The view is incredible and the sunsets are beautiful! It is just so peaceful here. The owner, Lydia, is so kind and wants to ensure everyone has a lovely stay! This place is a gem.

The most beautiful and relaxing time ever

This is our second stay at Lydia's and it won't be our last. Everything is as described and more! The cottage is perfect for couples and we had our grand daughter stay a couple nights in the loft. The cool breeze off the lake countered any humidity in the forecast, a welcome relief from our Arizona heat. Lydia is so welcoming and responsive as a host. I'm already missing my time there as I sit on the plane waiting for take off. The surrounding area is amazing as well. Plenty of great eateries and centrally located for our needs visiting family and friends. Highly recommend!

Perfect little lakeside cottage

This was my annual sibling trip with my brother. We chose Lydia’s place because we wanted to stay on the lake AND it’s close to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Y’all, it’s perfect! Love being able to have coffee and evening cocktails while watching the sunset. Lydia and her family were such wonderful welcoming folks. People were always friendly every where we went. We highly recommend this spot.

We sincerely adored this cottage, and the owner is wonderful. The cottage has every amenity you can think of and some you'd never think of. She is friendly, accommodating, and helpful. It's immaculately clean, cozy, and has the best view of any VRBO I've ever stayed in.The only thing that you need to consider if you book here is the loft. It would be perfect for two adults and two kids, but if you have four adults, be mindful that they are able to climb up the ladder to the loft. This isn't a criticism. Just something to consider.

Sweet Late Retreat

We loved our time at Lydia's on the lake and are so grateful for the beautiful days and evenings, outside in the garden watching the spectacular sunsets. A Lovely Cottage

We arrived in the evening to a welcome card and treats. Lydia checked in with us in the morning and had an enjoyable chat and letting us know she would be quickly available if needed. My husband and I live to the west of the cottage. When the cottage was for sale, we originally bought it so that our five out of town grandchildren would be able to stay with us when they visited from CA and MA. I love decorating and shopping for vintage furniture and so the six months it took to renovate the cottage was very enjoyable. Soon after, we realized the many benefits of sharing it with the wonderful people we have met since renting it as a vacation spot for those who also enjoy the views of Lake Erie. I must admit the grandchildren are now in their 20's and do not visit as often as they use to!! Luckily we have two in town. Lydia's Lake Erie Cottage has been an unexpected joy that keeps us young and busy in our retirement years. My husband Terry and I love being your host and hostess during your stay. Lydia

Besides being on the shores of Lake Erie, our cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood where walkers are welcome. Osborne park at the end of the street provides a pool, tennis courts, pickle ball, walking path, and sports fields. Walk to several ice cream stores nearby. Downtown Willoughby is a 5 minute drive and provides boutique stores and wonderful restaurants.

Definitely the location on Lake Erie where the views are spectacular particularly the sunsets!! You will love watching the boats go by while you sit in the yard under the willow tree . Also,Osborne park is a 5 minute walk to the end of our street. There is a beautiful public pool at the park and the city provides entertainment on summer evenings. Do not miss a visit to downtown Willoughby, a 10 minute drive where there is wonderful boutique shopping and great restaurants.
