The cottage floats above and overlooks an operating organic banana orchard. Gated in a 20 acre estate, with majestic royal palms & fruit trees galore. Wrap around screened in lanai & open deck allows guests to soak in gentle trade winds. Enjoy heavenly stars at night & wake to a chorus of Hawaiian song birds serenading you to your new adventurous day.

Very unique layout. We loved the outdoor kitchen. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the place extremely private and quiet.

So cool! Highly recommend.

Hard to visualize it with the pictures. The layout is perfect for where it is. We saw a family wild pigs on the property. Love the town it’s in too. Definitely expect some bugs and geckos in the cabin (but very few in the bedroom itself). Dryer was out of gas but Marc was very responsive and found us a solution.

Love the Banana Tree Cottage!

One of my top favorite VRBO stays! Private cottage with 3 sided screened in lanai living space, gorgeously decorated and well appointed with all the kitchen gear we needed. High quality towels, bedding, bed and furniture. Loved sleeping with all of the doors and windows open, listening to the insects, birds and frogs. Absolutely delightful!!!

Nice place to stay, birds can chirp loudly all night if it's raining. Owner very responsive; housekeeping and yard staff very friendly.

Real Hawaii

Cottage was terrific. Beautiful natural setting amidst banana trees and african tulip tress. Amazing view of the ocean and totally secluded. Open air everywhere. Located near several small towns with a real neighborhood feel. Love to come back!

Relaxing with the beautiful night sounds

This was the most relaxing place we have ever stayed at. Each night the frogs sang us to sleep and in the morning the birds sang us awake. There were a few water issues that were cleared up and communication with Marc and Carmela was great. It was great being close enough to Hawi Town and Kapaau to walk and enjoy all that both towns offer. We will be back!

Beautiful, peaceful country retreat.

It was what we expected and wanted. Very very nice and peaceful. Lovely view . The cooking is rustic, but that was okay with us. The only problem was the gate, the code had one more digit than the email had. It was otherwise correct. Luckily, someone came behind us and gave us the right code. We will be recommending the Banana House to our guests who may want to stay on the other side of the island. Mahalo!

We loved staying at this beautiful cottage with large screened lanai and out door kitchen amenities that were not screened but it was not an issue for us since it was windy and rainy. The place is kept very clean and it is a beautiful location that almost feels like being in a treehouse from the lanai. The bird life and sounds were awesome! There were also a small familyp of wild pigs that I scared off when attempting to get my camera out quietly, the horses are friendly and sweet. We would love to come back as this was one of our favorite places in the area. I highly recommend the private banana trees with ocean views for those who want to have some peace and relaxation.

50th anniversary, Shangri-La

As the title suggest this was a 50th anniversary Shangri-La we loved it. Very private very beautiful. Porches or lanai's all around the living, quarters were wonderful. Great place to cook and just sit around enjoying yourself. Also an inspirational place to get a bit of bookwork done.

Just What We Wanted

A serene location with an unobstructed view to the ocean. Also situated next to a natural ravine with beautiful flowering trees. Coqui frogs & geckos abound, but we found them all part of the ambiance. The space is well appointed and very comfortable with screened and open verandas. I could say much more, but one thing that I must share is the owner/management were responsive and most accommodating when we requested one more nights stay due to my last minute booking error. Thank you again!
