If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway and away from people, while enjoying all the convenience (like WiFi via satellite!) and comfort of a modern mountain home, this home is for you. It is minutes from stunning lakes and gorgeous hikes accessible right from the neighborhood! *Please note: In winter, the road to the house is closed and only accessible via hike-in-hike-out (20-30 mins) on groomed trails or by snowmobile (3 mins).

Peace and quiet await you at 7,120ft elevation in the Sierras. This home is the ultimate mountain getaway.

With endless hiking opportunities starting from our neighborhood, stunning alpine lakes, wildflowers and scenic vistas, this getaway will fill your soul. One of our favorite activities is star gazing from the deck or from the little meadow right in front of the house while laying on a warm blanket. Not to mention, the charming historic towns of Murphys and Columbia with historic buildings, great wineries, and even caves to explore. The most popular lakes are minutes away from the home: Spicer Reservoir is only 10 minutes away and Lake Alpine is 15 minutes away.

From end of March to November, you can easily park directly in the driveway. The home itself is one of the best and most unique rentals in the area. Enjoy the nice upper deck for a cozy dinner while watching the stars. The large kitchen is perfect for family dinners, you can even use our fondue or raclette machine for some post-hike cheese dinners! Three big bedrooms (2 downstairs and 1 upstairs) give you room to spread out and 6 guests can very comfortably fit between them. The two bathrooms (1 upstairs and 1 downstairs) have great water pressure and the main bathroom upstairs even has a huge jacuzzi tub (perfect after a long day of hiking or skiing in the Winter.) Our neighborhood has its own Spring water system which gives you delicious mountain Spring water directly from the tap.

There is wifi via satellite so although it works great for emails and wifi calling, Netflix and other streaming won’t work great so we have 80+ DVD's that you can enjoy binge-watching on our XboX One with a Bose soundbar, including many for kids!

On a chilly day, the large wood stove in the living room can heat the entire upper floor and we provide wood for you to utilize. The best spot in the house is on the couch right in front of our wood stove. It's the perfect place to drink wine and play card games with friends and family! We provide Jenga, Monopoly, Uno, What the Meme and Scrabble.

This home is part of a charming neighborhood, yet it feels very "off the grid". Come and unwind... disconnect... and live the mountain life your soul is craving for.

Booking a stay at this property assumes that you have read and agree to the terms and liability waiver detailed in the "house manual" section. Upon your reservation, you will be sent the agreement and will need to return it signed. Pets are allowed as long as they are house and potty trained.

Other things to note
The house is situated at high elevation (7,120 ft) and surrounded by beautiful trees, so there is very limited cellphone reception (unless you have AT&T) but there is wifi via satellite and you can call with your cellphone through wifi calling.

The TV doesn’t have cable or Netflix (wifi by satellite so too slow) but there is an Xbox One with several action games (Call of Duty, Battelfied) and a DVD player with over 80 DVDs, including lots of movies for kids. It really is the perfect opportunity to disconnect!

Internet, gas and water are included at no cost. Electricity will be billed back to guests for stays longer than 5 days.
