NEW in 2019 Mid-Century Modern styled private garden-level guest studio at the back of our completely renovated 1910 Craftsman home. Don't confuse this with the numerous nearby older apartments hastily converted to VRBO rentals. This space was designed and outfitted specifically as a monthly rental for short-term or extended stays. Lake of the Isles is the premier location in Uptown, Minneapolis - just 1.5 miles south of downtown, and just 20 minutes from MSP Airport. We’re in the quiet East Isles residential neighborhood; a walker’s paradise filled with incredible architecture, picturesque gardens and serene lakes.
THE SPACE: This is a completely separate and private 550SF garden-level studio apartment featuring a well-lit private entrance with security system, central A/C, cozy gas fireplace, Smart HDTV with streaming and over 200 cable channels, 1 Queen bed, 1 Bath, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, disposal & microwave, free washer and dryer in-unit, free high-speed secure wi-fi, dedicated office space, and so much more!
We also offer shared use of our front porch featuring 2 Eames style rockers and small table for morning coffee or evening cocktails while enjoying our amazing flower and sculpture gardens, along with shared use of our gas BBQ grill. BYOB-Bring your own beef!
PARKING, HIKING, BIKING: We have plenty of free overnight parking on both Humboldt Ave S and W 24th Street, with sidewalks leading to the apartment from either street. Just a short walk to the East shore of scenic Lake of the Isles with miles of walking and biking paths. Numerous restaurants, grocery, shopping, banking, theater, nightlife, pharmacy and much more, all within easy walking distance from your door!

The Apartment is in a large beautifully kept old home in a very good neighborhood- only a few blocks to Lake of the isles. I was pleasantly surprised by how modern, clean and well- organized the place was. There is a lot of storage room for clothes and food. And a lot of extras - like a body wash, conditioner, and shampoo dispenser in the shower. Popcorn packs, chips, gourmet coffee packs, etc. a lot of neatly organized food storage containers, specific hangers for shirts and pants/skirts. Etc..When I first arrived, Ken had a general folder of information about the apartment ready for me and a document specific to my stay. Also, Ken lives in the house and works in the garage. I didn’t need anything else; but if I did I knew he would be easily accessible and helpful.I had a very pleasant, peaceful stay here and can definitely recommend it.

As foodies, we love living in Minneapolis with it's chef-driven food scene. Our travels have instilled a great appreciation for those little things that elevate a stay away from home beyond the ordinary. These days, you'll find many older run-down properties hastily converted to vacation rentals by inexperienced owners, many while waiting to be sold. Sure, their nightly rates are cheaper, but is that really where you want to stay? ISLES INN UPTOWN was designed and outfitted specifically as a longer-term vacation rental, and was just completed in 2019! I have over 25 years experience both as a vacation property owner and seasoned traveler, and most recently owned and operated Inn Uptown at 31st & Irving from 2008 - 2014, when a divorce inspired me to find a property better suited for vacation rental. I purchased this property in 2015 and spent 3 years renovating from top to bottom, including a complete new 2nd story addition and the new ISLES INN UPTOWN vacation rental at the back of the home. It's an even better location than before, with close proximity to the chain of lakes (Lake of the Isles, Bde Maka Ska, Cedar Lake, and Lake Harriet), and easy access to biking and walking paths around the lakes and city. It's just 1 mile South of downtown, and Interstates I-94 & I-35 are less than a mile away. The beautiful and quiet East Isles Uptown neighborhood is the best in the Midwest! You'll love being able to walk to so many award-winning restaurants, and walking or biking our serene chain of lakes!
