Historic House Old Town Alexandria

This historic home is located in Old Town Alexandria and within two blocks of King Street, with onsite parking for 3 cars. Walk to restaurants, bars, shops, parks, and museums. The house has been modernized; the inside is comfortable and cozy. Fully furnished with amenities to make you feel right at home.

This detached historical house was built in 1870 and is updated to blend the old with the new. Old Town is known for its historic charm and art, and this home combines both. The house is conducive for groups of six, couples, and families with children over the age of ten. Two electric fireplaces provide ambiance and warmth, and the large flat-panel TV is great for movie night. For enjoyment, there are books, board games, and art supplies.

The designer kitchen is stocked with cooking tools for those who love to cook. Entertaining is a breeze; the dining room can seat up to ten people and has serving dishes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in old Towne Alexandria. The house was great. Having the off street parking was huge. Everything else is street parking. The neighborhood is awesome. Safe, clean, and active. You're only a 5 minute walk from the main strip that is lined with restaurants, coffee shops, and stores-- clear to the water front. With a child, we made the whole walk to the water in 15 minutes. Jeni's ice cream is minutes from the house and our kid loved going each night. The house was well decorated, modern, and functional. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen (you will need to bring seasoning, cooking oils but pots and pans are good), and eating in the nice dining room. Beds are comfy, good black out curtains keep street noise and outside light down. Bathrooms are clean and showers with good water pressure. The host was quick to respond, and easy to work with which was greatly appreciated. I really can't stress how nice the location is. 15 min uber to DC museums, 25min Uber to zoo. The Metro is nearby but looked like it'd take an hour to get to the zoo, so we chose Uber.All of that, and a great price. We'd definitely look to come back again (hopefully next time with no government closure.)

This is a wonderful house in a well kept, safe, and convenient part of historic Old Town Alexandria. The house is very old, but it has been completely modernized. 2 bedroooms, 3 bathrooms, modern kitchen, high efficiency washer and dryer. The bedrooms and showers are upstairs with a fairly steep flight of stairs to climb. Guests with mobility issues might find the stairs to be challenging. Getting to DC (which was the reason for our visit) was easy and fast. We walked 1.5 blocks to catch a free bus. The bus took us for a short ride to the DC metro station. Over all this was a great place to stay for business or pleasure. I will book this house again when I go back to Alexandria for a DC vacation.

La maison est idéalement située à 15/20 min en voiture de tous les musées gratuits de washington. Le quartier est trÚs sympa, sûr et plutot tranquille. La rue est passante, mais il y a du double vitrage dans la chambre qui donne sur la rue, donc on a bien dormi. Tout est propre, confortable et bien équipée. La cour est pratique pour garer sa voiture gratuitement. La maison est aussi bien climatisée.

We enjoyed the stay at this lovely restored home. We would suggest providing Kleenex, Extra towels and washcloths. The sheets on one of the beds could have been better as they were “pilled”. Over all, this was a great place to stay and convenient to Old Town and DC! We also appreciated the quick response of our host and her willingness to extend our stay a little bit.

Family vacation

We were delayed due to weather and a maintenance issue. Our host was understanding. The location was great with plenty of food and shops near by. The drive way was good when we needed uber to pick us up. We were able to cook and eat around a table on the nights we wanted. We would stay there again.

Cute little getaway

We took our daughter and her friend to a concert in DC. This location was perfect. Loved that there was a driveway and private back area to relax, though it was far too hot to enjoy it. The back area could use some TLC, but since it was too hot to really spend much time back there, it didn't impact us. The home pretty much had everything you need. We were able to walk to the metro. Record highs and the a/c worked excellent! We will stay here again!

Wonderful girls weekend!

We had the best time at Vat’s place! It was exactly as promised and so close to the heart of Old Town— just over a block to King Street. Every need was anticipated and the house was comfortable and cozy! Highly recommend and hope to be back! Also, be sure to check out La Pluma, which just opened on the corner. Amazing! Enjoy!

Great house, Great location in Old town

Beautifully renovated house with everything you might need. Plenty of space for everyone. Close to Metro at the end of King street or easily a short 10-15 min Uber into DC. After spending the day at the Museums and sightseeing it was very pleasant to come back to Old Town and grab dinner or ice cream in a relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely stay here again!

Bucket List stay

Our stay was awesome. Convenient to Airport, DC, & Arlington Cemetery. Also, a cute coffeehouse (soon wine) had just opened up across the street. Very good coffee & breakfast items. King street was very entertaining. We spent cocktail hours & dinners there. Our Host, Vat, was amazing. The house is adorable. Perfect for our family of four. And the parking was most convenient with its own private driveway.
