Comfortable home in Alexandria, walkable to Old Town / Metro, close to DC

Location, Location, Location! Experience what Alexandria and DC have to offer with a stay at our comfortable home. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, and one with a double futon. The main floor living area has been recently updated with fresh paint and refinished hardwood floors; the kitchen has new quartz countertops and tile backsplash. We live in the home when we are in town, so the kitchen is well-stocked with cooking supplies, coffee, teas and spices. There is a large deck in the back, surrounded by trees and overlooking Taylor Run creek and Angel Park, perfect for quiet mornings, dining, and sunsets. There is a driveway for one car, and ample free street parking, if needed.

Did we say location? Old Town Alexandria, King Street Metro, Amtrak station, grocery stores, coffee shops and retail all within an easy one mile walk. Walk into Old Town and enjoy amazing restaurants and a vibrant riverfront. Alexandria offers a free trolley that runs from the metro to the riverfront. We are one block from Angel Park fields and playground, three blocks from Witter soccer fields and 1.5 miles from Chinquapin Park fields, tennis/pickleball courts and Aquatic Center.

- Close to 95, 495, 395, and Reagan National Airport (5 .5 miles) Dulles Airport is 24 miles away, and also easily accessible by Metro.

- National Harbor, with retail, restaurants, entertainment and MGM Casino is just minutes away.

- Washington, D.C. is only 8 miles away, easily accessible by Metro, car, train or bus. We even leave a few Metro cards for you to use while you are here.

NOTE: This has been our family home for 32 years. Our kids have moved on, and since we have retired we are on the road a lot. When we aren't in Alexandria, we welcome you to our home. Our master bedroom and basement are not available to guests.

Our host, Shari was wonderful! Her home is comfortable, clean and inviting! She is gracious and accommodating, quick to respond and our best VRBO experience yet! The location is perfect if you are looking to being conveniently located to Old Alexandria and more. Wish we could give Shari and her home TEN STARS!

Wonderful stay

We stayed here as an entry point into D.C. Shari is a fantastic host who is very responsive to inquiries. Their cozy home is in a very pleasant neighborhood with good access to the Metro. Aside from all that D.C. has to offer, Old Town Alexandria is worth your time also. Will definitely return if another D.C. visit is in our future.

Host could not have been more helpful or accommodating. We had an issue with the circuit breaker blowing and their response was excellent. Neighborhood was not what I had hoped for or expected. I am a walker and did not find the neighborhood to walk friendly. Reading light in bed room was too dim. Sofa not comfortable to sit on.

Shari was so easy to plan with. We came up for my father’s burial at Arlington Nat’l Cemetery so it was a short stay. The neighborhood is so appealing family homey district - saw lots of people walking dogs, walking with their children. Very much reminded me of when I lived in town. The convenience of everything around from convenience store numerous restaurants grocery stores just amazing. Didn’t have the opportunity to use the metro passes but that would’ve been GREAT. I will return to visit and stay longer.Thank you again for sharing your home during such a time.
