The space
“And into the forest I go to lose my mind and find my soul.”
- John Muir
If there’s one place we go above all others when we need to relax it’s the forest. You could say we were lovers of forest bathing before that was even a thing!
Walking between old and new trees is almost meditative and something we try to do at least once a day. It’s pretty much the antidote to stress, and we always come out happier than we went in.
“Come to the woods, for here is rest. There is no repose like that of the green deep woods. Sleep in forgetfulness of all ill.”
- John Muir
Enjoy dwelling and sleeping in a woods cabin with access to acres more of walking trails. The sunrise cabin will be waiting for you You'll be able to walk among wild blueberries, mosses, lichens and huckleberries, spruce, pine, fir on the property.
“Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
Amenities include: Beautiful and humble 140 square feet cabin, wood stove, 2 burner gas cook stove, solar patio lights, solar shower, 100 watt solar array that powers lights, USB ports and small 12v DC appliances. An outdoor kitchen that has the basics to prepare a camp meal or Grill hotdogs and marshmallows over the open fire. “Nothing is more beautiful than the loveliness of the woods before sunrise.”
- George Washington Carver

Ideal for writers, painters, hikers, retreaters, honeymooners, romantic get-aways, photographers, nature lovers, and revelers of summer Maine fun. After you hike-in, a quick 10 minute orientation and we are out of your hair.
“Between every two pines is a doorway to a new world.”
- John Muir
The cabin is fully outfitted with a woodstove for heat (including firewood for your splitting enjoyment--lessons provided by request), propane stove for cooking, small kitchen with cookware and kitchen basics, solar lights for overhead lighting, small dining table, several canvas chairs, coolers for cold items, games, small library, and an outhouse complete with solar shower.
“I’ve loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.”
-Galileo Galilei
Bringing a warm sleeping bag will enhance your stay in cool Maine nights or when the mist rolls in. The key to staying warm is closing the windows at sundown, and then feeding the fire in the woodstove. We provide hardwood, you provide the human power to get it in the wood in the stove. Splitting and hauling.
Blueberry season: mid-July to mid-August
Lobster season: all summer and fall

A small cabin in the woods, to contemplate the daily musings of a Maine vacation, make coffee in an outdoor kitchen, make an outdoor fire under the stars. This cabin is ideal for those who want to travel around and see Maine’s attractions: Acadia National Park, drive by Steven King’s house and take a tour, Kayak the ponds, lakes, rivers, sea, stroll the coastal towns, eat seafood and other Maine delicacies.
