Beautiful and spacious. Centrally located. Street traffic is a little loud, but not horrible. Staff was friendly and super responsive. Ice/water didn’t work but new part ordered while we were there.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The villa was great overall and proximity to the beach was amazing. We have stayed in other places before on Siesta Key and by far this was the best in terms of location to the beach / space in the villa / etc. However, there were a few signs that the villa still needed repairs. If we used the microwave, garbage disposal, or some of the outlets (like for a hair dryer), the lights would dim or shut off completely. The bathroom shower didnt have proper drain cover. Some outlets didn't work at all and some lamps didn't turn on. The microwave also didnt work well and it was better just to use the stove. But other than these minor repairs needed, the villa was great.

Not! This unit is seriously deficient

This property has some serious failings 1 Bug Infested (Palmetto bugs are LARGE COCKROACHES) as well as a varied variety of undesirable insects Having traveled and stayed at many resorts and hotels in Florida over the past 40+ years the old adage of bugs being a normal event in Florida is just NOT true 2 Ancient TVs 3 TV s in bedrooms both inoperable 4 Dishwasher broken 5 Large damp patch on Living Room ceiling 6 Furnishings, dated ,mismatched and uncomfortable ( Garage Sale purchases?) 7 Garage sale/Goodwill Industries kitchen-ware odds and ends with mismatched and inadequate glasses and dishware 8 Low water pressure (try showering in a trickle of water) 9 Good news the unit did have a DVD player with the nearest Blockbuster Video in Alaska 10 Does nobody from the management company check these units to ensure basic standards before the start of each rental period ? 11 This unit was totally unacceptable in every respect at a rate of over $2000.00 per week we expected it to match the listed description and posted comments. Instead we experienced our last VRBO rental and vacated the unit less than 24 hours after our arrival and moved on to another resort where I am happy to report there none of the issues that were a part of V36 This unit is in serious need of updating and refurbishment to make it meet minimum 2021 standards

The first thing you forgot to tell others is that we fully refunded your money to you, which we did not have to do! Now I am sorry I did. You were disrespectful to me as well as my staff. As for the 3 tvs, all were flat screens, purchased within the last 2 years. All worked correctly, It was user error. Perhaps instead of being disrespectful and asking how to use the tv's your problem would have been solved. As for the Dvd,, I guess you are not aware that in Florida every grocery story, shopping centers have "red boxes" where you can rent Dvds so if you have traveled florida as much as you say, you would know that. Also, guests like to bring along their children's dvds etc to help them sleep etc. That unit was totally remodeled within the last year and I feel they have done a great job. Who are you to decide that they bought pictures, etc. at a garage sale? Just shows your attitude even more. You were not even in the unit 24 hours and you said the dishwasher did not work. What possible reason could you have had to even use it. Upon your departure, we ran the brand new stainless steel dishwasher and had no problems whatsoever. If you have traveled Florida as much as you say you would know we are in a sub tropical area and palmetto bugs are common especially when you are directly on the water. All and all, we are glad you left and just to let you know, we rented the unit one hour after your departure so we lost nothing but a disgruntled man. I am glad you found the place of your dreams because we certainly do not want you at our Resort again.

Reviewer Comments: Villa 36 at Island House Beach Resort is in a great location in Siesta Key and we felt safe the entire time. The villa itself was relatively clean, though the fabric on the couches could have used cleaning. Of utter disappointment was the bed in the master bedroom. The mattress was in horrible condition, which made catching up on sleep over vacation an impossibility. The mattress was lumpy and sunken in. The bed creaked loudly with every single movement or body adjustment. The headboard was not firmly attached, so it would hit the wall with each movement as well. We finally put a towel between the headboard and the wall to help, but there was nothing that could fix the tired old mattress.

great location, subpar lodging

Location couldn't have been much better, about 500 yard walk to incredible beaches / water, amenities were pretty good too including heated pool. Where our experience wasn't so pleasant involved the cleanliness of the home. Even though it was well taken care of and you can tell that the owners do adore their home, it wasn't very clean, with sand / dirt on the tile floors at first check-in, found a centipede in a cabinet near kitchen, later killed a small cockroach and found ants encircling our tooth paste bottles in the bathrooms, bed linens smelled like sweat, made the stay / home feel a little bit dingy especially for the premium price point. If you intend on getting out and about during the majority of your stay and will spend most of your time on the beach, then reserve this place. If you intend on doing some R and R at home while staying here, might be best to choose another place.

Reviewer Comments: my husband and I had a real good stay at villa number 36 - we have stayed several times at the island house beach resort - and it is always clean and in good shape - the management and rental employees are helpful and we really like the location - it's very near the beach - and a good place to bike ride there also--- I would recommend it as a good choice when looking for a place to rent for a vacation get-away - we have stayed there in march and again in oct - of this year - and had fun ! they have a real nice clean pool there also- thanks for everything - we'll be back soon !

Would Definitely Return Again

I would definitely return again! Place was very clean and quaint. I travel to Florida for spring break often my only constructive feedback is that the place was a little out dated for price. Toilets could also use a little more pressure to flush rather than having to flush multiple times. I enjoyed the easy access to the pool and beach! Beautiful beach...white sand, water and sunsets! Single residence is nice for privacy, noise and ease of parking for unpacking and groceries. The area is also very wonderful with great restaurants and shops! Great for family vacations. Definitely felt safe and not bombarded by young reckless spring breakers!
