Please see our hundreds of glowing reviews for both our apartments on various platforms. Most say the apartment is sparkling clean and even better than the photos and many come back every year. In 11 seasons between both our apartments and hundreds of 5 star reviews on our various advertising platforms, this is our first 3 star review. This traveler is a first time VRBO user and admitted only a day after she booked that she had spent too much on her 2 day trip and requested extra discounts. She already paid 1/2 price of the folks that arrived before, and after her due to a promotion error that we honored. We were by far the least expensive 3br unit on Mount Desert Island due to this error... let alone with an ocean view. Even a single hotel room would have cost more, she got a wonderful deal! We gave her a list of 23 trailheads and about a dozen additional Acadia activities all within 5 minutes of the property. Instead, she chose to drive the 25 minutes to Bar Harbor to enter the Park despite being told Acadia is in all 4 towns on the island and our list of trailheads, swimming spots, picnic areas, biking trails, and the Lighthouse that were all 5 minutes away. No complaints were made during her stay, she (or her daughter) smiled and waved as we pulled into our driveway after work to go to our house next door. She texted us and requested a 3 hour late check out which we were able to reschedule with our housekeeper and grant her. After giving us this poor review we asked what happened and she admitted she spent too much on her trip and was upset about that. She also complained that we should not be listed as 5 minutes from Acadia, despite the fact that we absolutely are....she just chose to drive 25 minutes to other parts of the Park. She promised she would remove this review and was given the number and link to VRBO to do such. After more than a week since this promise was made, she still has not removed the review or reached back out to us if she was having issues.
