This is a wonderful, "old fashioned" traditional Houston house. It's really well located with a large and deep pool to help you cool off! There is a lot of living space making it a great place for a family.The host is really proactive in terms of communication and quickly dealt with any problems that came up/replied to questions to explain things.

Loved the location of the house. Also liked it that it is a vintage home with a lot of history with modern amenities (washer/dryer etc). Highly recommended but please note that with the age, there may be some getting used to rickety stairs etc.

The house is gorgeous. The dining room table is huge. There were plenty of towels & other amenities. We very much enjoyed our stay & would stay there again.

We traveled all the way from Canada and were very happy with our story. Very nice neighbourhood, clean house, and well kept pool. Stayed with 6 friends and this was easily the best place we have stayed thus far.

This house feels lived in and charming and very, very comfortable. There is ample space, a piano that I really enjoyed playing, and a great backyard. Combine that with how walkable everything is in this neighborhood and it would be hard to find a better place to stay nearby. Big fan. Highly recommended.

This vintage home had all the comforts for a wonderful stay during a difficult time. 3.5 miles from MD Anderson was key for us. The pool provided some much needed relaxation after daily trips to the clinic. The kitchen is very bright and welcoming. The venue is located in a very quaint, quiet and safe area. We were very blessed to find such a beautiful place.

Great location

Perfect location and close to a lot of things you'd want to do in the Montrose area. Unfortunately one of the A/C units was out during our stay and it was a little hot in the bedrooms at times. Overall really loved the charm of the house and the host was very communicative.

I’m glad that you liked things overall. As far as the a/c units I’m sorry that you were unable to turn the second floor unit on. Had you let me know I certainly would have helped you with the thermostat. I checked the unit after seeing this review and the unit works fine. I’m glad that everything else was to your liking.

wonderful. Stay in this wonderful, cozy house. Everything was so easy. The communication was great. There is nothing about this house that we did not like. We actually love this house. And we’ll definitely get it again.

A Victorian stay

If you like Victorian house's this is the one, with all family history in it. My family look forward to going back to this house on our Houston trip. When needing anything Kat was one phone call away and didn't hesitate to answer and help. Great location near downtown and any store needed.

I always wanted to live in house like this and this time I got to experience how it most have been living there. The house is full of memories from the people who lived there. We really enjoyed our stay the house has everything you need and more. Our girls really enjoyed the pool. Kat is on her way to being an excellent host. Thank you!

Just as advertised

This is our second stay at this property. We stayed March 2024 and 2025. The property was as advertised. It's a great price per night for a great location. Yes, the home could use some TLC, but for these older homes, pre 1900 build, that bit of TLC could be really expensive. The owner is very responsive and could be reached through the app easily. The home was clean and suited our needs perfectly while we visited with our daughter who live in Houston.

Great house, needs maintenance

We had a wonderful stay, rooms are perfect, plenty of space in the house. We were 2 couples and had a great stay, currently they have 2 window ACs for the downstairs area which work just perfectly. Main problem we had was to find dirty things in the kitchen, as well as old used napkins inside drawers. Also, real sad that the pool was real dirty with a lot of dirt inside, seems that a deep cleaning is needed. Could be related to the construction next door? So we used the pool too little and could not really take advantage of this.

My apologies that your stay was not up to the best standards. I try to always have everything ready but I would have been happy to help solve any issues like the pool if you had given me a call or text. I try, after my initial contact with a guest, to leave them to enjoy themselves but if an issue does appear I am always just one text away to help resolve anything. I could have had my pool team come over immediately to fix any issues.

Great house and location, although minor issues did exist

The house is incredible. The rooms are clean and spacious and well-laid out and the amenities are top-notch. The location is convenient to downtown Houston, the University of Houston, the Medical Center, sports stadiums and freeways to get you where you're going. The decorations are nice and the house has many nice features. The owner, Kat, is very nice and responsive to questions. We did have a couple of issues, however. One of the main reasons we rented this particular house was because of the pool and, although it's nice to look at, we were unable to use it because of the buildup of algae in it. Also, there is an issue with the electricity as the lights in many of the rooms flicker randomly frequently. Other than that, it was an enjoyable stay. I would recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in Houston.
