Could use a couple of big knives to slice meat, especially for weddings. Could also use some big trays to bake on. Other than that, the venue couldn’t be better. Just know the walls are thin, so if you have a lot of people together, you can hear conversations from the other rooms.

Property was amazing with beautiful views. House had great amenities for our company retreat. We did encounter a tub issue but it was taken care of right away! We only wish we knew there weren’t spices in the kitchen but we would definitely rent again. I would suggest putting a private residence sign in front as we had 2 guests that thought it was a hotel and one just walked right in thru the front door. Excellent stay!!

Staff Retreat

The property was beautiful and we only had 14 guests. The lights might need to be replaced here and there and a shower door or two sticks but, the views and bears were lovely!!

Family Reunion

We had the most wonderful time staying here for our family reunion! We cooked every meal and filled every room. It was an aweosme house with plenty of space for our large group. We especially loved watching movies in the theater room, playing games, gathering in the living room and cooking/eating in the huge dinning space. We also learned that bears can open unlocked car doors! (Lock your car!) It made for a fun story afterwards! Thank you to the host. We had the best time at the Gatlinburg Mansion! I hope we can return in the future.

Property overall was very nice. The minor problems were overlooked as the property provided what we were looking for in our stay. The mountain view was breathtaking. Could not have asked for much more in the property as it was an overall good experience.

Amazing!

We had a fabulous time here. The views were outstanding. We spent so much time rocking in the super comfy rocking chairs on the back decks. We even saw bears foraging in the woods. The kitchen was well stocked and it was super clean. The kids LOVED the video games.

Great Cabin!

The cabin is in a beautiful location. The view off the decks are breathtaking. There are not many places where you can look at the mountains and not see other structures, but this is one of those places. Cabin was as described and was perfect for our staff retreat. The game rooms were excellent as well as the common areas upstairs. We even had a bear pay us a visit during our stay. We will stay here again.

Youth retreat

This was our second year staying at the Gatlinburg Mansion for our youth retreat. It’s the perfect space for our needs and the location is beautiful. Far enough away from the crowds but close enough to anything we want to do. Management was prompt to address any issues that arose. Would definitely come back a third trip.

Christmas reunion

The mansion is absolutely breathtaking! All 14 bedrooms have master baths and king beds. Four of the bedrooms have additional queen bunk beds. All bedrooms have fireplaces, TV's and stunning views of the Smoky Mountains. The kitchen was huge and well appointed. All 32 of us had a fantastic time!

Great but we had an injury

The house was great. Batteries on TV remote controls were dead... We had an injury when a woman fell into the drain hole behind the hot tub. She got stuck nearly up to her waist and cut her leg needing a tetanus shot. Badly bruised as well. I can provide photo documentation. Unfortunate the hole was open and not covered some how... It needs to be repaired properly!

Dear Ray, We are truly sorry your guest was injured. That is a drain hole for the cleaners to drain the hot tubs after our guests check out. We have never had this issue before. The cabin is gorgeous, the views are incredible, and the kitchen is spectacularly stocked with all kinds of pots, pans, and dishes. The fire pit was really easy to use, and overall, our large group was very comfortable in the cabin. The only issues we had were that there's very little insulation so every footstep on an upper level sounds really loud in lower bedrooms, noise carries from the common area to all levels of the home (including the bedrooms), and when we followed instructions to call for more dish washing supplies, we were ignored by management for three days and had to go buy our own. Also the wifi is incredibly weak, which is disappointing for a cabin of this size. All they need to do is purchase inexpensive repeaters for each level, and it would provide enough wifi for the group size that would stay at a cabin this large. I would also suggest marking the cabin as private property, because the only sign on it says "Cabin Rental Store" and we actually had three different people just WALK IN to the cabin without knocking (on three separate occasions) because they were looking to rent cabins in the area and thought this was the place to do that.

Magical property!

I rented this property for a family reunion. We couldn’t have had a better visit to Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The location was perfect for what we wanted. When on the property, you don’t see any other homes - we could hear our neighbors, on occasion, but we felt very much a part of the beautiful scenery!! It’s a short 15 min or so drive into the center if Gatlinburg. We avoided the heavy “downtown” traffic by starting out early in the morning in the park, then enjoying this beautiful mansion on the afternoon. Great gathering spaces in the house! Beautiful deck! On different days, we watched a black bear with 3 small Cubs out the back in the field, a small male black bear and a wild hog. And the birds … if you’re a birder, you’ll love it here! The rooms and bathrooms were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with almost everything you’d need to cook for a group. The laundry facilities were very nice (bring your own detergent!). There were more than enough rocking chairs and seats outside for everyone, and the hot tub was wonderful after a long day of hiking one of the beautiful waterfall trails in the park. Management is VERY responsive! Our coffee maker wasn’t working and they replaced it the same day it was reported … as were some other little things related to the game room. The owner has several other properties that we will surely check out the next time we plan a visit! We are fans for life and would recommend this property without hesitation!

Montalto Family Thanksgiving 2019

We are a family of 10 siblings! My parents and 8 of the 10 siblings and their kids joined us for a week of family fun in Gatlinburg! We are also proud HomeAway homeowners! We expect a lot! From beginning to end, we were not disappointed! Barb was very helpful and answered a ton of questions for me. Planning for a large group is tough. Barb was available and helped me make sure that every base was covered! From the time of arrival, we were impressed with the house! The view is incredible! We enjoyed watching the change in weather over the mountains daily. The porch and outdoor space are perfect for taking in the view and beautiful sunsets and sunrises (for my Dad and I..the early risers)! The kids enjoyed the game rooms! The theatre room was also a huge hit! It is the perfect house for a large family gathering. We had 42 people and 2 infants. Everyone had their own space. The home is very well taken care of and is in the exact condition that you see in the pictures. You are within a 20-25 minute drive for anything you want to do! Just make sure you make time to stay at the house and enjoy all this lovely home has to offer. We truly made memories to last a lifetime! Games, painting, prayer time, family talent show, movie night, DJ dance party... you name it! This house was perfect for it all! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! Great view! One of the best views in the states, completely uninterrupted! NO ELEVATOR!

We loved it! A few things were non-functioning, including a microwave and an a/c unit. The first word on the vrbo listing was “elevator”, but it was falsely advertised. There is no elevator! Most people still had a great time, a few people couldn’t leave the top floor due to mobility difficulties. I just wish I knew there wasn’t an elevator. Everything else was great! Will recommend for sure!!!
