This spacious apartment overlooking the beautiful Brouwersgracht canal near the jordaan is certainly unique, we have a big family bedroom with space for maximum 4 persons & a bathroom. We live upstairs; we share a hallway, where we both have our private entree to our own floors. So the apartment is fully private. Centrally located in the historic center in the UNESCO protected canals of Amsterdam. Suitable for couples & families up to 4 persons. Located on the 3rd floor easily accessible via a wide stairwell. All major attractions within walking distance. As well as the best restaurants, bars, stores and clubs.

The location of the property was excellent. Just think a little more attention to details would make it nicer. The soap bottle in the bathroom was virtually empty and you could tell someone had added water to make it last longer. Would have been nice to have a welcome book with suggestions of things to do and restaurants to visit in the neighborhood. No instructions for stove , tv, washing machine,or microwave. Little things that make a stay more pleasurable. The entrance inside the building looks like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Leaves all over. Bad first impression . There is a little hallway between the second and third door you unlock to get in the unit. We were told to make sure to leave the second door open when unlocking the third door because the light in the hallway doesn't work and it would be to dark to find the keyhole. Maybe nitpicking here but this is the first time we have encountered these issues after mant vrbo rentals. All in all the positives outweigh the negatives but it wouldn't take much effort to make for a better experience.

Overall, a comfortable apartment with very nice views and location. For two, plenty of room, for four adults it would be pretty cosy, especially as both beds are in the one bedroom. We have stayed in many rentals and we enjoyed this apartment but the lack of attention to small details was apparent. Minor issues include: zero soap/shampoo, hand soap bottle was almost empty and watery, 4 coffee pods (for a 6-night stay), zero towel hooks or rods in bathroom, no bath mat (we used a towel), no kitchen sponge or cleaning cloth. Some maintenance is needed: for unaligned shower door tracks, some window curtain hooks undone, loose kitchen faucet. These are nitpicky details and did not really detract from a pleasant stay, but providing a few more simple items would improve the rental experience greatly. Jesse did supply dishwasher pods upon request. The price seemed high to us but for Amsterdam is probably good. The “stay tax” and “service fee” added 25% to our costs, but the location was excellent and the bedroom at the back nice and quiet for sleep. We were provided two sets of keys which was great.

We enjoyed our stay but the issue with the shower doors, not closing properly and falling off the tracks is problematic and has not been corrected as mentioned in previous reviews . The amenities and supplies were pretty limited. We had only enough laundry detergent to do one load and had to go out and buy more. we would suggest replacing the two thin worn out bath towels with four new ones. We did enjoy the spacious layout and location of the property. Overall, we had a nice stay in Amsterdam.

A very spacious and comfortable apartment in the perfect location in Amsterdam -- close to the train station and walkable to many sites and excellent restaurants. Easy communication with our hosts. We try to visit Amsterdam every few years and would absolutely stay here again.

Wonderful location and spacious apartment overlooking the canal. It was great waking up to that beautiful view. Lydia, who met us at the apartment, was our savior. We were able to check in early, the local team was very gracious, helpful and accommodating. The only thing that might be a cultural issue is that there were no towel hooks in the bathroom! It might be helpful to install some but we managed. The location was close to supermarkets, both organic and regular and provided easy access to the city’s network of canals, without being in an area overwhelmed with tourists. It was a short walk (15 minutes) to the central train station.

Perfect Amsterdam Apartment

This property was the highlight of our trip! The apartment is beautiful, spacious, clean, and has everything we needed. The host met us when we arrived and showed us around. He was wonderful.

Beautiful location and view. Place needs work.

The apartment is located in a wonderful neighborhood with restaurants and several grocery stores a few minutes walk away. The view from the living room of the canal is exactly as depicted, fantastic. However, the overall feel is dingy. The place had not been cleaned. Food debris was under the couch. There was a toenail clipping on the rug by the couch. The couch fabric also seemed dirty. The kitchen faucet is loose and moves about. The microwave oven was dirty inside. The lighter for the stove was empty. The shower door doesn't stay in its track and even when it does, there's a 1/2-inch gap between the closed doors. The bedroom drapes were unhooked and too high to reset without a ladder. As expected, the apartment is three flights up. The interior stairwell was filthy, with leaves from last fall all over the ground floor entrance and up the first two flight of stairs, along with cobwebs. Walking about the apartment in our socks left them darkened with dirt.

Anniversary in Amsterdam.

The property was fantastic. The location is perfect. A 10 minute walk to Central Station. Right next to a key tourist shopping district ( Haarlemstat) and very close to both a regular supermarket and a high end organic one as well. (Think Whole Foods). Great space in the apt. Big family room and everything we needed in the kitchen. Host were great and very responsive. Would rent this again!

Great apartment in the perfect location

The apartment was in the perfect location, centrally located to everything. It was well equipped and must larger than we expected. Our stay was over King's night/day which meant we were able to enjoy the celebrations from the front of the apartment overlooking the streets and canal. The bedroom, which was located at the back of the apartment was extremely quite, given the celebration noises from the surrounding areas. The lighting and mirror height in the bathroom was not the best for those with older eyes and vertically challenged, though this was a minor issue. Overall our stay was excellent and we would definitely recommend this apartment to others.

Views, yoga and a beautiful town

Before you do ANYTHING your Amsterdam research suggests, first take in the view. Then, walk 1.5 blocks to Haarlemmerstrat. On your way is a grocery store (Ekoplaza) with awesome produce, specialty foods and fresh proteins. On Haarlemmerstrat you’ll find pubs, bakeries and restaurants, vintage, wine, cooking and gift shops and the best frites in town (Oma’s). Jesse and Mike’s clean and spacious (room to practice yoga!) apartment has mesmerizing views, coffee, a big frig/freezer, a well-appointed kitchen, a washing machine and lots of closet space. Perfectly located, we never needed to take public transportation. Walking: the best way to see every neighborhood. Thank you Jesse and Mike - you and your place are awesome!

Lovely apartment in an great neighborhood

The apartment was perfect for our needs. Comfortable and well appointed with an excellent view of Brouwersgracht (canal) from on high. Mike and Jesse are fine hosts and have created a comfortable and usable space. Two minor things to be aware of should they be important to other potential guests. 1. The apartment is on the 3rd floor (4th US) with no lift. If stairs are an issue, be aware. Mike was very kind to help with the luggage. 2. While the kitchen is well appointed with cookware, tableware, glasses (including wine and Champagne), and a well supplied Nespresso, there are no seasonings, oils, aluminum foil or cling film. If you are planning to cook, you may need to stock up a bit, at least salt/pepper and oil, but there are 2 grocery stores just around the corner (Albert Heijn and a more upscale Foodmarkt). We would happily stay again.
