Wonderful host!

Great property right on the beach. Clean, comfortable. Easy to get to. Walked to several restaurants. Keli’i was a fabulous, attentive host. Easy to get a hold of and super responsive. Great stay!

Points faibles : Propreté, arrivée, communication et exactitude de l’annonce.
We will not be returning. The room looked clean at first glance, but a closer inspection revealed serious maintenance and cleanliness issues. Previous guests caused some issues, but nothing was addressed before or during our stay. There was an issue with the door lock that the host never confirmed was fixed. The guest book had incorrect instructions for locking it, so for most of our stay we left the door unlocked when we left the room. Other issues we saw: Warped floor in kitchen. Visible dark speckled mold spreading across the ceiling in one corner of the room. The bottoms of both the entry door and an interior door were badly rusted and corroded, with flaking metal. Both tables have veneer peeling off the bottoms. The oven handle has rusted off, and the bottom of the AC will do the same soon. Towel bars were hanging loose from the wall, and cabinet hinges were loose. The headboard was not attached to the Murphy bed. Behind the Murphy bed and under various nightstands were severely dirty. The futon sofa is not meant to be slept on, yet we booked a stay for 5 people since it says it sleeps 6 and only had 2 usable beds. Scuffed doors, chipped paint, and stained walls made the whole space feel run-down. For the price we paid, we expected a well-maintained room. Instead, it felt like basic upkeep and sanitation had been ignored for a long time, on top of issues with the resort itself. Would not recommend EVER!

Thank you for your feedback Casey. We take guest concerns seriously and have addressed, and are in the process of addressing, the maintenance items that were brought to our attention. We would like to clarify a few points for future guests. The unit does have three queen-size sleeping spaces: two queen beds and a queen Murphy bed. Bedding for the Murphy bed was provided in the unit. The sofa had mistakenly been identified as an additional sleeping space in the listing, and we corrected that information once it was brought to our attention. Regarding the door, a backup key is secured in a lockbox directly next to the entrance, allowing guests to lock the unit from the outside, and those instructions were provided during the stay. We appreciate feedback that helps us identify areas needing attention and have continued making improvements to the property. While we regret that Casey’s experience did not meet his expectations, we want future guests to know that we are responsive to concerns and work to address issues when they are brought to our attention.

I currently work as a Sushi Chef, and am enthusiastic about learning different languages, watching Japanese animation, snowboarding (when I get a chance to visit a place with snow!), and bodyboarding.

My wonderful experiences with vacation rental hosts in Japan, Korea, Canada, New Zealand and the US have motivated me to give the same experience to those who visit my home in Myrtle Beach. Although I’m a first time host and there is a 6-hour difference between Hawaii & South Carolina, I look forward to making sure your stay is comfortable and your experience in Myrtle Beach is wonderful.
