Perfect for couples or families. Tucked away on its own private mountain acreage with stream access. Large screened porch for talking into the night or enjoying your morning coffee. Less than 2 miles to Devil's Backbone Restaurant and Brewery and Bold Rock Cidery. Minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Trail, Wintergreen Resort & Spa, many other breweries, wineries, cideries, restaurants, horseback riding, hiking, mountain lakes, outdoor concerts, & antique shopping. 1G fiber optic Wi-Fi. Smart TV. Outdoor firepit & picnic area. Indoor gas fireplace.

This is a 3 bedroom/2 bath home with upgraded kitchen cabinets and appliances. Completely stocked with spices and necessary utensils to cook that special meal or entertain family and friends. Two master bedrooms each with queen beds and their own bathroom access. Queen sleeper sofa with gel memory foam mattress. Sturdy, safe bunk beds with a third trundle that are perfect for kids and small-framed adults. Many places to gather: around the kitchen island, in the living room, on the spacious screened-in porch, at the picnic area, or around the fire pit. Also, designed with relaxation and quiet conversation in mind. Find your personal space at the bistro table on the back deck, at the outdoor contemplation/meditation area, in the den, or swinging on a double hammock. Easy to use propane fireplace with remote to create the perfect ambiance for cozy fall and winter nights. Dedicated workspace for remote workers.

Host reliably and frequently uses videoconferencing so rest assured the internet speed can support your needs. While the location is secluded and private cell service is very good with nationwide providers. and reliable. Great place, pictures don’t show how cute it is!

We arrived after snow so never got to experience outdoors because it was a cold weekend but the house was great. Lorraine had coffee, tea, hot chocolate, blankets and everything you could need for a warm weekend. House is conveniently located near wintergreen and some wineries and breweries. When we thought there may be a freeze Lorraine came out and salted the driveway and made sure we’d have no issues getting in and out. House is perfectly stocked and styles. Thanks for having us! Can’t wait to come back in the warmer months to enjoy the area more.

Fantastic cabin!

This is the second time we have stayed here and we are definitely planning on coming again! This cabin is the perfect size for a little getaway, it’s quiet, very clean, and has everything you need for your stay. The location has beautiful scenery and all the amenities you will ever need. You can clearly see all the personal touches and care that the host, Lorraine, has put into this great little place. If we could give more than five stars, we would!

Mountain Hideaway

The cottage was beautiful and perfect for our family to celebrate Christmas. It was fully stocked with all that we needed and the location was quiet. Lorraine was a wonderful host and had the cottage ready with the fireplace already on and even had brownies waiting for us! We even got to see some snow! We would absolutely stay again!!

Just Wow

My sister and I took our older parents to visit Dad's family in Nelson County. We typically stay with a cousin down in Arrington, but opted for a VRBO this time. I can't say enough incredible things about this property and owner. It is so clean we checked the roster to see if we were the forst guests to stay! (We weren't, but we will definitely return!)

really great mountain getaway

We loved our long weekend at Mountain Hideaway. It had everything we needed -- this house is the definition of "well appointed." This was the best stocked kitchen we've ever had with VRBO and the bedrooms/baths were all very nicely furnished. It rained before our stay but the hosts had thoughtfully ensured there was dry firewood, sticks, starter pads and a lighter. The hammock was delightful and the yard was big enough to throw the football. It's close to breweries and hikes, which is how we spent our time when we weren't by the campfire, relaxing on the porch, or swinging in the hammock. 10/10 would stay here again.

Wonderful Stay

We enjoyed the whole house! The porch, the living room and kitchen were perfect for our family. We enjoyed the fire pit and all of the amenities the home had to offer. Our host went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and make our stay very comfortable! Thank you!

Weekend getaway

We absolutely loved our stay at Mountain Hideaway! It was such a lovely place to spend time with family and reconnect. The house was absolutely beautiful and provided the perfect peaceful atmosphere for us to catch up and enjoy the nearby breweries and wineries. It was so reassuring to know we had such a cozy place to return to after a fun day out. Plus, the amazing sleep we got there left us feeling refreshed and ready for more adventures! The hostess was incredibly nice and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. We can't wait to come back to this wonderful house again in the future! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with loved ones.

Immaculate home on a beautiful location

Everything in the home seemed to be brand new. The home was very clean and colorful, and the location on top of the hill was secluded and beautiful. It is situated up the street from Devil's Backbone and only a 15-minute drive to Wintergreen Resort. We will definitely stay here again!

One of the best

Of the many places we have stayed, we have to say this is by far one of the best. From the pr arrival communication and the flexibility of the host to the what we walked into. This by far the cleanest rental we have ever stayed in. Plus the brownies waiting for us were top notch. This place is a must for those who want to be away from it all while being able to hit all the breweries and wineries on 151. Host was always available and responsive to our needs. We will definitely be back here more than once. Can't wait till our next stay here. Thank you very much for providing an exceptional stay.
