One story house located on a quiet street in the Amish countryside. We are close to tourist attractions but far enough away that you are not near tourist traffic and can see the Amish working in their fields as you drive to this home. There is an Amish fruit farm a quarter mile away and we are only a few miles from the famous Shady Maple Smorgasbord and Shady Maple Farm Market. Sight and Sound theater is only 14 miles away and the tourist town of Intercourse is 6 miles away.

This house is very spacious and clean and we strive to make it feel like "home away from home". It is situated on a one acre lot and has a beautiful front porch where you can watch the hummingbirds feed in season as you sip your coffee and relax on a rocker.

Black out curtains and comfortable beds allow for a good nights rest. We provide many amenities and have a fully stocked kitchen. We have houseplants to allow for good breathing and a homey feel. Enjoy watching a movie on our smart tv with the electric fireplace burning.

This is a lovely property. Everything was very clean and the furnishings are beautiful. We had 5 sisters and one niece with us so the house being on one level is really nice. The view from the front porch is beautiful and the house is located on a quiet small street with a curl-de-sac. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

We had a wonderful stay at this home. It was beautiful, very clean and spacious. It is in a quiet peaceful neighborhood with a beautiful view. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the front porch every day. The hosts are great and made it easy to check in and even put out some welcoming treats and a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers! We highly recommend staying here!

This house was great for our needs! He wasn't able to make it on this trip, but my elderly father has difficulty with stairs and my mother is nearly blind. The fact that everything is on the main level and has no steps to get into the house from the driveway, it was an instant book. When we got into house we immediately saw all the personal touches that John and Janet left for their guest to enjoy. A welcome note on a clip board in the kitchen, snacks all over the house, and a binder with their personal recommendation for local attractions, food, and shopping. If we are back in the area, we will definitely book again!

Relaxing comfortable home

This home is definitely 5 star! Spacious, comfortable, beautiful decor, and everything we needed. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. Big kitchen with ample dining space and living room with comfortable seating. This home is on a quiet street and neighbors were friendly. Home is close to Intercourse with plenty of shopping. Not far from Sight and Sound Theater. We had a wonderful stay!

The best house we've ever stayed in. Everything was where it should be. Everything was clean and well prepared for us to be there. The host was friendly, helpful, and ever so kind. There were special treats left at the bedside as well as the kitchen for us. We felt very comfortable and welcomed. Definitely a 10. Due to unfortunate circumstances, a few people in our party was unable to make the trip. We are already planning to return next year and we definitely want to stay at this same house.

A beautiful place, lots of large windows. Front porch which we used. Kitchen had anything we would require. Nice quiet area and friendly neighborhood. Had brochures for attractions in the area. We loved the fireplace for ambiance!

Relaxing Lancaster Visit

My family and I had a great time at Janet's VRBO! Everything was super clean and welcoming for our arrival. The home is beautiful and spacious with many personal touches. It is also easily accessible for anyone with mobility issues. The location is perfect for exploring Lancaster County with scenic views. Definitely one of our all time favorite stays and we would love to return again some day!

Spacious, clean and quiet

The house was immaculate and very spacious. We were greeted with fresh flowers, treats, and a well stocked house. There was extras of everything as you would have at your own home (not one roll of TP per bathroom as at some VRBOs). Beautiful views and sunset. We got snow and owners ensured everything was cleared for our departure. Highly recommend.

Above and beyond exceptional! The Hummingbird Nest is an outstanding property, and host Janet is an outstanding human. My cousins and I were in town to take care of our elderly aunt who was in hospital. As the situation changed, we needed to extend our stay, and Janet was graciously flexible with our reservation. Having such a lovely home where we could all be together was a blessing, as was having a washer and dryer. The welcoming touches of chocolates and snacks, the live plants and fireplace that made it feel like home, the comfy beds, cleanliness, and the beauty of the setting all made for a perfect stay. Oh, and no stairs turned out to be an extra bonus because I twisted my knee while out running errands for my aunt! I cannot say enough good things—truly, staying here was the silver lining in a difficult situation.

An oasis from the craziness

This property is extremely spacious, classy and comfortable. The owners were very easy to reach and provided delicious popcorn and flavored seltzer. They had a stocked binder full of activities and three smart TVs. It’s so cool to drive in Amish country and witness those horse and buggies, and the shopping is incredible. We took in a show. Highly recommended.

This was a Great rental. The house was very clean and well stocked. The beds were very comfortable. Loved the open space for gathering in the living room and wonderful porch to have coffee and tea on the front porch. The street is very quiet and the location was very easy to visit different towns in the area. We were thankful for a well stocked kitchen as we bought fresh produce from the farm stand just down the road and were able to enjoy dinner at the house. The host was quick to respond to my question and made the process easy.Highly recommend if you are looking for clean, quiet and convenient location.

John and I are retired and love hosting. John is a Lancaster county native and Janet grew up in Michigan. We raised our four children in this neighborhood and now enjoy having the grandchildren come to visit us on this street.

We love travelling and staying in guest homes when we travel. It is fun to see how each place is uniquely decorated. Our goal is to make our place cozy and comfortable for our guests and to make it a relaxing place to return to at the end of the day. We clean it ourselves and take pride in this rental.

Janet loves plants and has decorated the house with many plants to keep the air pure and clean.

Southview Drive is a quiet dead-end street on a hill. It is surrounded by Amish working in their fields and many Amish neighbors. It is a peaceful area and the neighbors are friendly.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

When our dear elderly neighbors were selling to go to a nursing home, we decided to buy it as a guest house. Our neighbors had built it without steps, so it is a great option if you have any mobility issues.

It has a large, long beautiful front porch with rockers to enjoy your coffee in the quiet countryside. In the summer, we hang a hummingbird feeder and and attract many tiny hummingbirds for your enjoyment.

It is our goal to make your stay in Lancaster peaceful and relaxing.
