Log Cabin in Pristine Northern Woods and Water Private Retreat

Ce n'est pas votre location de vacances ordinaire. Si vous devez ĂȘtre au tĂ©lĂ©phone ou Ă  l'ordinateur, ce n'est pas l'endroit pour vous. Nous fournissons une tĂ©lĂ©vision pour regarder des films. Vingt miles au nord du pont Mackinaw, nous sommes au milieu de la forĂȘt nationale de Hiawatha sur un petit lac intĂ©rieur. Pourtant, nous sommes assez proches de l'autoroute et des attractions locales, pour revenir Ă  la civilisation chaque fois que l'ambiance est bonne.

Le lac est un lac peu profond idĂ©al pour le kayak (3 kayaks sont inclus, tout comme une chaloupe), le canoĂ« et la pĂȘche. Nous sommes entourĂ©s par la forĂȘt et la faune. Il n'est pas rare de voir des loups, des ours et, en de rares occasions, des orignaux.
Le lac a 3 paires de huards nicheurs, qui remplissent l'air du son immaculĂ© de la nature. Super endroit pour observer les oiseaux. Si vous aimez les oiseaux, vous serez au paradis. Aigles, colibris, pics pilĂ©s, martins-pĂȘcheurs, fauvettes, plus de types d'oiseaux aquatiques que je ne peux en Ă©numĂ©rer ici.

North Country Trail traverse la région et est excellent pour la randonnée. Les sentiers de VTT sont également à proximité. Si vous aimez faire du vélo de cross-country, vous allez l'adorer ici.

La plage du lac Michigan au large de US-2 est Ă  environ 20 minutes, si vous voulez vous baigner sur un magnifique rivage sablonneux. Les chutes Tacquamenon sont Ă  environ une heure au nord, tout comme Whitefish Point. Le ferry pour l'Ăźle Mackinaw est Ă  une demi-heure au sud. Sault Ste. Marie et les Ă©cluses de Soo, sont Ă  45 min. au nord-est.

C'est l'endroit idĂ©al pour s'Ă©chapper. AccĂšs facile sur de bonnes routes. TrĂšs peu de maisons sur ce lac de mille acres, car 75% du rivage appartient Ă  la forĂȘt nationale.

Cabin was great and very secluded, lake is beautiful and we had fun fishing no big ones but we caught a lot of fish which made it fun. Having a boat available was a real plus and kayaks too! You have options provided to you and on a rainy day or just at night there was a huge selection of movies to watch. Very nice stay at this location.

We cleaned and put fresh food in it and the birds fought over it.

First family vacation

We had a great time staying here. The cabin is beautiful, very comfortable and well stocked. The kids loved learning how to kayak and the fishing was awesome. The only down side was the neighbor to the right of the cabin. They were only there our last two days but all they did was fight and their dog barked all of the time. Nothing that the cabin owner can control of course, otherwise it was a wonderful time for all of us.

This was an amazing cabin! On east lake and off the beaten path. Very roomy and well decorated. All the amenities you need are here. We watched movies (100s on site), played games that were there, they had kayaks, a canoe and rowboat. We took the canoe out on one of the less windy days, caught some small perch. Was close to several attractions, went to Mackinac island, Soo locks, St Ignes for pasties, found some local trails. Enjoyed relaxing with a couple campfires, grilled steak kabobs out and reading books. Scott was very good at getting back to you right away and sent some local things to do before we came. The lake is shallow will have to paddle a ways to the deep spot but you won’t be disappointed with this gem for getting out to enjoy nature.

We had a great stay, location was perfect for Side by Side’s. The property was as described in the listing, we had a lake day and went kayaking. Definitely will book again in the future!

Fantastic Cabin

Loved our stay! You do have to be willing to drive 2 to 4 hours round trip for numerous UP site seeing attractions. We found the beauty & peace of the cabin to be worth the extra driving.

Wonderful escape

Absolutely amazing cabin in the middle of no where. My family and I had a great time fishing and kayaking. My kids fed chipmunks right out of their hand and a friendly female duck would come by a couple times a day and my daughter would feed her too. Our time at the cabin was great.

Relaxing Family Vacation

The cabin was just like the pictures! Rustic, charming, and had everything you needed to keep all guests satisfied. Coffee on the porch every morning, games, movies, bonfires, or kayaking in the evening. Centrally located to go out and explore different experiences each day. One suggestion is to add or bring a pillow top to each bed as they were quite firm/hard. Thanks Michigan for a great time!

Beautiful Cabin Off the Beaten Path

Enjoyed our vacation at this beautiful cabin. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed getting away from it all and the peace and quiet at the cabin. We were hoping to see a bear or moose but we settled for deer, a porcupine and the wonderful sounds of the loons on the lake in the morning and evening. Even though the cabin is secluded, you are still close to many of the attractions in the eastern UP. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us! We highly recommend to others!

Majestic

Out stay was amazing. We stayed during a record high heat wave during the 4th of July week and the cabin was cool and relaxing. This cabin accommodated two families of four and made for memories to last a life time. You can relax, fish, hike, and even jump right on the near by trails for side-by-sides or snowmobiles. Conveniently located just outside St Ignace you are just a short jump away to Mackinac Island, the Locks, Whitefish Point, and many more. We loved the Dunes Beach nearby. This cabin is one that you can enjoy time and time again. Thanks Scott for your awesome hospitality.

Beautiful, secluded cabin great for getting back to nature.

Great vacation at a beautiful cabin. We were content to never leave (except to run to Moran for firewood!) great place for family to connect without internet, phone & tv. We loved the lake - kayaks were great for exploring the small little islands. My favorite part was watching the birds and listening to the loons. Saw a bear coming back to the cabin one night - heard elk, a wolf and eagles were frequent visitors to the small islands. Amazing place and Amy was so helpful and great to work with. Will definitely be back!!! The cabin was everything and more than we expected - pictures don't show how beautiful it really is.

Beautiful, secluded cabin away from the world!

This is a very nice cabin with a lot of character. The views from the front porch are magnificent and East lake was awesome to row boat and kayak on. The cabin is roomy and very comfortable. The kitchen is nice and offers everything you would ever need to cook/bake etc. The owners (Swansons) are great! They made sure we were satisfied with our trip and were always available to contact. If you are looking for a cabin tucked in nature and away from the world, this is the place for you! The only down side may be the 8 miles of dirt road to get to the property. This is easily forgotten once you pull into the property and take in the stunning view!

A Dream Getaway

We stayed here last summer and thoughts of this place stayed in my mind all winter long. The photos and description on here do not do this cabin justice. It is immaculate, beautifully decorated with amazing attention to detail, and provides everything you could possibly need for a relaxing week. We used it as a base for a variety of day trips, but also thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent just lounging around the cabin, using the canoes and kayaks provided to explore the serene lake. Our plan was to explore the western end of the UP this summer, but all 3 of us are kind of wanting to return here instead! A huge thanks for these generous owners for sharing their beautiful home that they built themselves!

East Lake Cabin Adventure

After following the one lane road deep into the woods we came upon this stunning log cabin on the lake. Once settled we started to really appreciate the beauty and quiet peace of this spacious haven. This place is definitely LOONEY, as we heard several loons calling to each other across the lake every now and then. Watched the hummingbirds occasionally buzz by the feeder, beaver swim by in the evenings and had a couple of large raccoons competing for food at the bird feeder one evening too. We had plans to use this place as a hub to travel to the many attractions in the UP but we loved this place so much we only took one short trip into St. Ignace to have lunch, buy some pasties / smoked fish, check out the farmers market and pick up a few supplies from the Family Fare. We look forward to going back again!

Beautiful & Unique

Custom log cabin with intriguing decor on a beautiful lake. The lake is shallow with a few good fishing holes. Not a great swimming lake unless you take a boat out to the left. We enjoyed taking the kayaks and canoe out. The queen size bed in the main floor bedroom is comfortable. The others are very firm. Nice sectional sofa in the main room. We did get a few tv channels and they have tons of DVD's. Good cell signal with T-Mobil. They had bird seed and hummingbird food for the feeders as well as corn cobs for the squirrels and chipmunks. We seen a pair of loons and two bald eagles! One flew low in front of the cabin and landed on the roof. First time I've seen one up close! Very quiet during the week. We could see and hear the neighbors through the thin line of trees on the weekend, but they were fairly quiet and respectful. Moran is a small town about 10 - 15 min. away. You can get basics there and gas but suggest stopping in St. Ignace, the Soo, or a larger city on the way for groceries. There is a newer, very nice Webber charcoal grill. So many hiking and ATV trails close by. We had a fun yet relaxing stay. Owner / management was quick to reply to our questions. Thank you!

This cabin was EXACTLY what you want in a vacation rental. Clearly explained, very clean, stocked with everything you need for cooking meals, and tons of entertainment provided (movies, board games, kayaks & canoes). The view of the lake is fantastic and is quiet and peaceful. To get that peace, you have to be willing to head off the beaten path, but it's so worth it! We cannot wait to book another visit!

GREAT STAY

You will not be disappointed with this cabin
one of the nicest that we have ever stayed at. Cabin is located in a secluded woods and lake setting, yet close enough to town, tourist attractions, and hiking trails. Did not see much wildlife during our last week September stay, but did see swans and ducks come up to the lake’s shoreline. Tried to feed the birds, but the squirrel scarf down the bird seed in the feeders (same problem I have at home). Cabin interior is cozy with many collectible woodmen and taxidermy items. Also, everything in the cabin is top notch including the appliances and cooking wear. We did have great cell service with internet access with our T-Mobil service while in the cabin. For going out to eat, I would recommend King Fish Market in Moran and the Buckhorn in Trout Lake
 Overall, I would highly recommend this cabin and give it 5 stars!
