Moccasin Creek Cottage - Hocking Hills State Parks- Cozy back yard

Come enjoy an amazing stay at our little homestead. The house is tucked up close to the woods, which provides lots of privacy. We are 13 miles from Old Mans cave, and 7 miles from Rock House. We have WIFI, it may be slow at times. We have an Amazon Fire TV, able to stream sports and tv shows with your own subscriptions. We are 2.5 miles from the little town of Tarlton which has an IGA convenient store with gas, dollar general, and a few restaurants. Laurelville, Ohio is 5.5 miles and they have handful of restaurants, gas, and in the fall the famous Apple House (apple cider slushies is where its at).

Loved the quiet location, conveniently located. Property was well equipped. Could use a good cleaning on the carpet and the drapes didn’t quite cover the windows but otherwise we had a great stay and would recommend this location if you’re looking for peace and quiet.

This was a perfect get away! The family was incredibly nice. Our girls are already asking when we can come back as they made some new friends. The house was cozy and nice to come back to after a long day of hiking. We also loved our daily visits from their dog Hank. We will definitely be back!

Really happy with our stay

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hosts were so nice and the house was perfect for the 6 of us staying there. It was a great value for the money and we would highly recommend it.

The house was very clean and dont let the outside fool you. 3 nice size bedrooms and 2 full baths, not to mention full kitchen and dining area, made it perfect for me, my wife our daughter, son-in-law and 5 year old granddaughter. The petting zoo down the road was phenomenal and 25 minutes from Hocking Hills.

House was wonderful at a very affordable price. 3 nice big bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, big kitchen, comfortable living area and huge back yard. Kitchen had all necessities so we did plenty of cooking. Host was very responsive and lived on the property at another house. Convenient location - 20 minutes from Hocking Hills activities, 15 min to major grocery store and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Close to recreational areas

Beautiful Hocking hills. We were right in the middle of it close to all of the attractions including the spotted horse ranch where we had a lovely trail ride. Comfortable beds and good AC.

Gem of a place in the woods

Great place hidden in the woods with a cozy backyard, BBQ grill and a fire pit area. The hosts live on the property in a second house and are very helpful. Would highly recommend this place. Comfortable beds and a great kitchen.

Perfect for trips to Hocking Hills

We had a beautiful weekend here. It is 20-30 minutes from all the hikes in Hocking Hills and a beautiful, quaint country setting. We also enjoyed the gas fireplace in the back yard. Perfect jumping off point for a couple or a family when visiting Hocking Hills.

Great location to unwind

Nice place to unplug and relax. Was close to hiking, wineries, and some shopping. Found great places to eat throughout Hocking Hills. House was super clean, nice backyard setting with propane firepit and very friendly hosts.

Girl Scouts weekend getaway

We just spent the weekend at this location with 3 girls and moms! It was perfect for us! We each had our own room and the kitchen was stocked with what we needed! The host was very attentive to our needs and responded promptly to our questions! Nice location and property! I would definitely stay here again!

Adorable house with a great fire pit

We stayed at the house as part of a hiking weekend and we loved it. The decor is adorable, rooms were spacious, kitchen nicely updated and the fire pit with the lights was exactly what we wanted. Overall a great stay and easy to check in and out. We went to the fruit store in Laurelville on our way out and ate at the Ridge Inn - nice little area to visit.

Holiday Wedding Weekend

Enjoyed a family weekend for a destination wedding at Hitching Post. Cottage was perfect with all amenities we needed. Out in the country, able to find some time to relax by the fire pit. We really enjoyed Lancaster which was a 15-20 drive.

Weekend stay for Hocking Hills

Booked for a weekend trip for Hocking Hills. Perfect for 5 girls. 2 full size bathrooms were a plus. We were about 35 minutes fromthe caves and it was a nice drive. The house had a beautiful backyard and was very relaxing.

Great Time!

My family and I had a great time over New Year’s Eve weekend. The house was very roomy and clean. We had everything we needed to make some great memories. I would like to thank our host for being so kind. If you’re looking for an escape or just stay quiet weekend away, I highly recommend this gem.

Family Fun

Great yard! Very nice to have a gas grill and grate cleaner! We did use it-it worked as ours does at home! Lots of space in house! Kitchen was very open with loads of counter space to cook. We had a cute black kitty that visited us each morning-very sweet.

Super cute & clean. Beds were comfortable. Had all the kitchen essentials. They may add this for future guests, but bring your own shampoo, conditioner & body soap. They did have extra toothbrushes & small things like that tho. Great communication, no issues.

What is needed

Could have luggage rack to put our luggage on instead of the floor. The rail could be closer to the steps out side. Also need grab rails in the tub/shower. They wanted everyone to leave a message but no paper. Also found a black sock behind the curtain in main bedroom. We put it in the trash..

Nice but spotty AC

Inexplicably the AC quit working while we were out.. house was 84 degrees and could not open windows Messaged owner and received no response So we left again and it was running when we returned. Maybe the owner fixed it… but since there was no communication…..
