Nestled in a picturesque setting, this cozy three-story former mill worker's house offers a perfect blend of comfort and charm. With the primary bedroom is on the top floor, complete with an adjoining full bath. The bottom floor boasts a versatile space featuring a 55" smart TV, couch with chaise lounge that converts to a sofa bed, a cozy free standing gas fireplace, and a small desk to work on your laptop. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary utensils to cater to your cooking needs and includes standard spices. The two covered porches invite you to unwind while you watch the river. This historical property in Ellicott City is a gem and an engineering marvel. The circular stairs inside may not be for everyone, but I navigated them fine. There is one bathroom in the master suite. The owners are delightful, and you will have a wonderful stay here. I really recommend it.

Excellent VRBO! Very clean with a great supply of necessities for an easy stay. The house has been restored beautifully and is so cool! Access to downtown and trails is amazing. You can't go wrong with this VRBO.

Great Historic Home

We loved the location of this home along the river. It was clean and unique. Great communication with the owner. Would not be a fit for the elderly and those with disabilities. It was super close to Ellicott City Historic District and not far from Merriweather which was our reason for coming.

A little bit heaven in the Patapsco valley

Christa and Erik are great host and building renovators/restorers. The Granite cottage is a true piece of love and dedication to the years gone by. The cottage is so cozy, warm and comforting you will feel as if you had fallen into a novel of the 1800s. Their attention to detail is impeccable. To spend and evening on the 2nd floor porch having a glass of wine, watching and listening to the ducks and geese in the river, then the train rumbles by and blows the whistle down the tracks is truly magical as dusk envelopes you and your love as speck of stress is drain from your soul. The you wake up walk to breakfast to either of the mom & pop restaurants, and on to a day of walling the historic streets and stores of old Ellicott City. You will leave the cottage with a smile on your face, your step a bit lighter and rejuvenated wondering when will you be able to return. Don't wait too long!

Very enjoyable!

This was perfect for proximity to Old Ellicott City for an event - and very cozy! The porch is perfect for a peaceful morning coffee and the kitchen and living space are comfortable. Would definitely stay here again next time I’m in the area.

Son Visitation

The home was in a great location for us. It was roughly 15 minutes from all of the places we visited. The place was cozy, not too large or too small. The bed was very comfy. The view out on the balcony was very peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay at this house. The town of Old Ellicott City was fun to walk around.

Ellicott City Charmer

Our small family of three chose this as our home base to check out nearby colleges and to get acquainted for the first time with the quirky and historical town of Ellicott City. We nailed it! Christa and Eric’s clean and well equipped place couldn’t be more perfect to really feel the history and charm of the area. Each time we went into town for a meal, ghost tour, shopping, etc. we chose to do so by foot across the Patapsco River versus using our car. Far enough from the hustle and bustle, yet also so close. We’ll be back!

EC Getaway

Great job restoring this charming old house/cottage. Perfect location to get out and about on foot. Be forewarned the grade is steep to enter the cottage and the bathroom is on the 3rd level so you will get your steps in. The hosts were easy to work with and their love and care for this gem was palpable which made it easy to relax and enjoy the time with friends. I would stay again and recommend it to anyone interested in exploring this historical area.
